First things First its Pure Barre and the work out is great! Most of the teachers are AMAZING, there is one that is always off. I was so happy when the owner of Pure Barre Fairfax opened another studio in Reston but while this studio is adequate something is just not right… a few observations… 1) this isn’t Reston, let’s call it what it is its Herndon. That makes a big difference and I think its a big reason classes are almost never sold out. I’ve been to several studios around the area and they are ALWAYS sold out and adding overflow classes, this one just hasn’t found its stride. 2) Limited Class times — Of all the studios in the area it has the most limited class times, it does not have any 5 am or 730/745pm weekday classes and it doesn’t have a Saturday 715am class. 3) It’s missing the«milestone» barre that at every other studio students sign when they achieve a milestone class like 100 or 250 classes 4) some days its not that clean. I’ve never noticed it at other studios but some days you can definitely see dust on the mirrors and dirt on the carpet. 5) They don’t seem to survey members for new class times etc; it seems like we have is what we get all other studios seem to regularly poll customers to develop and rotate schedules that work for their members. I hope the location succeeds but think that for some of the reasons above they’ve not found their niche quite as quickly as other locations. I’ll keep going but hope they consider some of the points noted above as they could be even better.

Passing by Pure Barre in Arlington, I always felt underdressed and unfit as I window peeped. I decided if I was going to «try» barre, I’d do it where no one cared about my clothing choice or fitness level(BMI is within normal limits, but I still have curves). This location is closer to work and I decided to try it on a $ 5 Friendsgiving Friday in November. My first class had me shaking in my socked feet. I was surprised to find the floors had an extra thick padded carpeting. I’d expected a bare wood floor(imagination, you’re fired). I can’t say enough *good* about the instructor. I found her to be truly an expert in teaching! Her queues were spot on and never singled me out in class as the person needing the correction(although I firmly believe the other patrons were experienced). The best part was feeling a genuine embrace from other patrons. I received a survey after my first session with a simple«Would you recommend us?» and a blank field for me to enter my string of comments. Thank you! It matters that my opinion matters :-) The only confusing thing at this studio is the dressing room is NOT with the bathroom. The dressing room is in the front of the studio near the register(aka it doubles for those wanting to try on clothing for sale). There are both baskets and lockers for you to place items in before the start of class. Towels are not provided and I didn’t see a shower. I look forward to going back to this studio again! Yes, I’d refer a friend!

I love it here! They just opened July 15th but they definitely know what they are doing. This was my first time taking barre classes and honestly any exercise rather then running on the tread mill and this has been a great experience. I was nervous at first I wouldn’t be able to keep up but the good thing about going to new spot is a lot of people there haven’t tried it either and we can all learn together. The instructors are very helpful and awesome motivators. They won’t make you feel bad or point you out if you have to take a break or do an easier version of a certain exercise, they trust you know your body, and will also help you with your form. Even though it is not a highly intense cardio class you will still sweat a lot and shake your weak muscles into shape!
