Had their Enchilada platter. Satisfying. Beans a bit thin/runny though. But still ok.

The food here is fresh and tasty! The portions are average sized for typical fast Mexican food, but the flavor is great! I particularly enjoy the machaca burrito with potatoes! Definitely worth trying if you’re in the area.

I went to this place and order beer. They asked if I wanted a mug. I said yes. They mug was dirty and had fingerprints everywhere. Asked for another mug and got another dirty one. They also had rusty beer bottles. I ordered carne asada tacos and it was more like dry shredded beef. Went to the salsa stand and the lemons and sliced jalapeños were dry. Looked like they were sitting out for awhile. Seats were uncomfortable. Every time the lady sitting down behind got up, my seat went down. This place is very small and way over priced. Do not recommend.

Reviews must be posted from friends or family because this place is a dump that maximizes profits by charging full price then gives you particles of what you ordered floating in beans, rice and/or potatoes. I felt ripped off, the place was dirty, the prices are what you would expect for a good place, but like many places in Hesperia it just plain sucks! Hesperia is full of Mexicans, and the Mexican food sucks? I don’t get it. So much competition and so little good food. Kind of goes against reason. San Diego is full of great little taco shops, Cardenas can’t even make good food up here. Make money with return customers, not by cutting everything with watery beans!

IT’S NEVERASGOODANYWHEREELSE as it is here! this is still the best Al Pastor I’ve ever had. Get the burritom or try the tacos ;)

Walking into El Charro was no surprise, tiny establishment located between two other tiny ones as well. The inside consisted of a register and a long walkway where the Seats were located at. Good Mexican food in the high desert is very hard to find as I had to learn the hard way. As we walked inside, there was a little ol’ lady smiling at us, we ordered 4 tacos, an order of fries and a chile relleno. It came out to 15 $ they took especially long to cook our order because a couple in front of us ordered so much food. I would of been upset if I was in a hurry. Once out food came, the lady thanked us for being so patient. I can honestly say the tacos Al Pastor were delicious. Wow, first time eating good tacos in the high desert! The carne asada was a little greasy but nothing that ruins it. There was a lack of salsas and other sides, but I will be coming back for tacos. Friendly, clean and most important cheap(1.25&) and delicious tacos!

Best spot for Mexican food and great taste. It was a little slow and the space setting is small.

Stopped in for dinner yesterday about 7:30pm. Looked at menu prices… which were much too high for the unimpressive décor and size of the place. They don’t offer complementary chips and salsa as all other mexican resteraunts do. You have to pay 2.00 dollars for it so we passed. We ordered the guacamole with a side of chips and a taco el pastor. The guacamole was so bad I wouldn’t even know how to rate it! It was like eating water. It had NO flavor at all, and for 4.00 you’d think they’d put a little effort into it! The chips came from a bag which must have been refrigerated as they were cold. The taco was tiny and lacked flavor as well. My total bill for this tiny taco and flavorless guacamole was 8.00!!! And they have a tip jar. No wonder we were the only couple in the place! I’m surprised it does any business at all. There’s nothing worse in todays economy than forking out 8 dollars for a «meal» which doesn’t deliver in the least bit! I left so Angry, and still, very hungry! Next time we’ll splurge and eat at Los Domingos which is right down the street. and although expensive, you’ll leave full.
