We ordered menudo, sopes, tacos, a torta, a pnd burritos. Everything was really good. The lady grabbed masa and made the sopes from scratch. The menudo came with a pata, so that was cool. The torta didn’t have too much bread, it was soft but toasty and avocado slices. .mmm…the cabeza tacos were the best! The chips and salsa were self serve, and delicious!!! Definitely recommend!!!

Wow. Tacos de lengua were absolutely delicious. Usually I’m one to take pictures but I was so hungry. But I remember as a kid my abuelita making tacos de lengua in the kitchen and also remembering this is as good as it gets, but today I found my abuelita’s tacos de lengua reborn thru spicy scorpion. So to spicy scorpion, thank you for taking me back to a place I remember so dearly. Thank you for your flavors making me feel like I was back home again. The restaurant is definitely casual and not to spectacular but the food is great.

I love this small Taqueria. Very reasonably priced and a great hole in the wall for lunch. Authentic mexican food that will please the palate much better than any drive thru restaurant. I’m personally a fan of the burrito with chicken, their pork and chile verde is very tasty as well.

Thanks to Unilocal for helping me find this hidden place! Please don’t let the outside scare you away. This mom n pop spot has to be one of the best Mexican food restaurants I’ve tried in a while. Not to mention the salsa bar, what a bonus. I ordered the burrito with chicken. The burrito was packed with flavor! The chicken was a bit on the dry side but the rice beans and salsa balanced it perfectly. My parents ordered the asada torta and nachos. Everyone was really pleased with their lunch! We all ordered the horchata and agreed it had to be one of the best we’ve tried. I can’t wait to come back and try the soups and seafood. I will definitely be making this place my go to Mexican restaurant. The prices are decent and affordable without lacking in quality and flavor.

Good tasty food. I had Mixed Mariscos and were very good and my dad had Shrimp Mariscos and a small al pastor taco. The place is pretty drab and could use some decorating, I’d like to phone order and pick up as the menu is large. All in all we will go back for more tasty shrimp!

Excellent Mexican food ! We will definitely return for more. We had the wet carne asada burrito & carne asada nachos, the meat was tender and well prepared, portions are huge and prices are comparable to most places. Great selection of foods can’t wait to try their Chile relllenos

Authentic, homemade, amazing. We ordered all kinds of stuff, everything was good: enchiladas(cheese & verde), tacos, flautas, torta, scorpion shrimp, tamale, etc. Everything we ordered was an «I’d order that again» dish! Be sure to try every salsa, it’s hard to pick a favorite!

When your mama warned you to stay away from hole in the wall places like this, she was WRONG!!! We live local and have passed by more than once judging this place by the location. DONOT make that mistake. Food is fabulous and the salsa choices are fresh, and outstanding! I had the freshest albondigas/meatball soup. Tons of meatballs, veggies that weren’t cooked to mush, & served in a bowl big enough I have breakfast leftovers.. S had carnitas tacos they were perfect, no left overs for her. Meat was lean, tender, no bad fatty bites, and seared with a nice crisp just like it should be. On the«hole in a wall» scale this place is a 5.

Let me start off by saying that I am a huge fan of mexican food and I am a very hard person to please. I recently moved to Hesperia, so I am very skeptical about where to eat. But let me tell you, I am soo glad and happy I found this place. Right when I walked in, the place was filled with people. They had two cashiers working and the wait was still long for my liking. Some of the tables needed bussing but they were eventually taken care of after like 20 minutes. Towards the end of the place, there is a salsa bar where you can get your own sauces. They also provide chips which is kind of nice, especially when you are waiting soo long for your food. Finally, my food was ready and I was one real happy camper. I took one look at my sope with carnitas, died and went to heaven. Not only did it looked amazing but it tasted soo good. Compared to other places I’ve been to, the sope here was extra big and thick, you can probably share it with another person. The carnitas was soo juicy and crispy. I honestly devoured the whole thing in like 7 minutes. I also ordered a taco with tripa… ohhemmgee! It was amazing =D. I can’t wait to come back here again and try other things on their menu. Kudos!!!

Quick stop so quick review. I have driven past this place several times delivering fuel to Goodspeed up the street. I noticed that there was a vacant lot across the street that I could park my truck, so I did that, and walked on in. I was instantly greeted with some wonderful smells, and a couple of nice ladies. The menu is huge, staring you right in the face like BOOM! this is what we got. I like that tripas is listed first. I was expecting small tacos so I was going to order a sampler platter. They informed me that the tacos are big, so then I only ordered three. What nice ladies. Waiting for the food to be cooked, they told me to help myself to some chips and salsa. I did, the chips are a little hard, but good. The red salsa they have tastes like a watered down«Pato Sauce.» I like pato sauce so I was digging it. I sat at a table that needed to be cleaned, so I did so myself with a napkin. My tacos and Horchata came, and I left to go eat in my truck as I was in a bit of a hurry. Broke out the food and got to mackin’. The Tripas Tacos werent that great. They aren’t cleaned very well, or cooked very well, or taste all that great. Big ol’ honkin’ pieces, of tripe. They just need to be cleaned and cooked more. The Cabeza Taco I had was REALLY good! Its almost a blob of meat and fat, but its SO greasy and tastes SO good. Especially with those great tortillas they serve them on. This is some of the better Cabeza tacos I’ve had. Definitely coming back for these! The Horchata is really good as well. Seems to be tap, but it had a different, more cinnamon-y taste and was quite sweet. Mexcellent! This place seems to specialize in Seafood, so I will come back and rereview. Two people were eating coctel when I walked in, and the Scorpion Shrimp seems to be their signature dish. Looking forward to returning.

My absolute favorite Mexican restaurant up here in the high desert, I love everything I’ve tried so far. The tacos are amazing and they always have the best tasting salsa and hot sauces. There’s not many places I enjoy eating at in the high desert because most are just disgusting but this place is definitely a hidden gem. Not sure if they are the owners are not. But the lady and guy that work there are always really nice.

OMG. IM A BELIEVERINSPICYSCORPION! Why can’t it be closer to home?! My car broke down in the area so the bf and I hitched a ride here. We stood in front of the menu for what seemed like 10 minutes — there’s so much to choose from! We paid after we ate, so we just sat down and tried all the salsas with the free chips. The AVOCADOSALSA was so spicy and delicious! My mouth was on fire but happy at the same time. I got the MIXEDFAJITAS and HORCHATA and WOW!!! Orgasm in my mouth! The portions were huge. I couldn’t even touch my rice, beans or tortillas. The bf got an ASADATORTA and a CHICHARRONTACO. The torta was huge! He didn’t need to order anything else but the chicharron taco was so worth trying! I doubt they accept credit cards. Seems like a cash only type of place. The ladies who worked there were so nice! It ended up costing $ 21.25 for everything which was a great price. I want to try everything on the menu! I might just have to make a detour here next time I’m in the area.

Mucho Authentico!!! Some of the best Mexican in the high Desert. Must try the Torta’s. The bread is toasted on the inside with butter and then homemade beans applied. Order with the Carne. Fresh lettuce and tomato round out the whole thing.

This is the first time coming here. It was a referral and suggested we try it. Im game. They always say the best places are the hole-in-the-wall are the best apots. Im only concerned about old food being sold as new. Needless to say, we stopped in and thought we’d give it a try. As we ordered the sopes, we were told it would take a little longer only because everything is made from scratch. That never bothered me… i like fresh and from scratch. We saw them prepare everything up front so there’s no hidden secrents during preparation. As the food was being cooked, the sopes were hand made before our eyes, our mouths began to water. You could start to smell the food cookin. After it was made to order, we could hardly wait to get home. We were not disappointed. The taste was authentic and steamy fresh. I wish i had taken a picture but we were so hungry, it was gone in a flash. Dont think that one could fill you up? Guess again. We will be back… and I’ll take the time to take some photos. :)
