King Kullen

I just decided that after decades of shopping here I going to try to avoid this store. The people that work in the meat department are rude especially this one woman who is just plain miserable. The people in the deli act like they’re doing you a favor and the cashiers never remember to ring up coupons then you have to wait in the service line to get a refund. Well… There is one or two who have been there for a while and are very very good. Every time I go to Foodtown deli I get great customer service. Same with ShopRite. The King Kullen in Valleystream is also very good. Although those stores are not as convenient I will be taking my business there except for probably one or two last minute items.

HORRIBLE LOCATION! I have never been so disgusted in my life. Its a shame that the location in Valley Stream is much cleaner. VS Location is closer to my house, but I happened to be in the area and stopped here. Never again. This location is infested with roaches! They have dirty mops in the sink where they clean and take care of other things in the Deli. The workers step away and leave one girl at the deli by herself and if you look half of the deli is fooling around in the back. The way the workers speak to one another is also horrible. The store manager does not attend to any of these issues. Sad!

Very small … prices are decent at best … parking is easy … needs some serious updates

It’s a small version of most King Kullen stores, not much variety for produce and meat. Not bad when you are looking for one or two items. Nothing is really a bargain, but then again, what KK is?

It’s small and old. It is clear that this place has been here since at least the 70s.
There isn’t a lot of variety, the prices aren’t good, and sometimes you’ll get very angry after you find out that you’ve bought something that’s expired. I would only go to this King Kullen if I need to pick up something fast and am too lazy to go to the large King Kullen that’s located on West Merrick Road. I’m honestly surprised that this place is still open. There are better supermarkets that are mere blocks away. Do yourself the favor and drive the few extra blocks.
They do have a Coinstar machine though if you’re looking to get ripped off and rid yourself of useless coined currency for 9 cents out of every dollar.

I try my best to avoid this place, but it is very convienent.
When I moved to Valley Stream a friend warned me of this location and I should have listened.
I have had problems with meat freshness and medicine expiration dates multiple times at this store, which I found surprising because they do a high volume of business.
Like I said, it is convienent for dry goods, but I refuse to buy anything perishable anymore.
