This spot has been a 5-star for over 20 years! I remember coming here as a kid and nothing has changed. Pan con bistec is all I’ve ever had and all you need to try. Flavorful, tender, with onions, lettuce, tomato and papitas(potato sticks). Boy o boy was I happy to return after almost 7 years. It’s well worth going out of the way for. :-)

Interested in a real Hialeah experience and a killer sandwich. This is the spot– real deal sandwiches– the Lechon is the way to go(I’m sure everything else it is good– but just haven’t tried anything else yet) why would you They have a variety of fresh juices — but this isn’t Jamba Juice — it’s Hialeah. The«juice» is the fruit milk and ice. I’m pretty darn sure that none of the bread is whole wheat, it ain’t kosher, there are plenty of GMO’s, nothing is organic, and the sandwich’s are packed with msg, gluten, saturated fat and all that other tasty stuff. Today I had my usual here– a banana Shake and a pan con Lechon, NO lechuga!!! Come here and tell me the sandwich is bad and I’ll pay for it– I’ll also probably never talk to you about food again.

Ordering my food was a blast. I had a Cuban Steak sandwich with everything and hot sauce. The quality of the steak sandwich was bewildering and nostalgic of what my mother would make. Regardless of age or creed, I promise you will love this place. Amazingly enough, it seems they purposely price their food to be able to cater to all walks of life; the food is excellent quality.

Excellent food. The prices are ridiculous. If you want cheap. Fast. Authentic Cuban food and feel. Go here. There’s no sit down area but it’s totally worth it.

Came here because I’m new to this part of town & was Unilocaling for a spot to grab something to eat. Walking in I felt like I was transferred back in time. I followed fellow Unilocalers advice & ordered a pan con lechón. My nephew ordered the media noche. We also got some croquetas & two batidos de mamey. Let me tell u that sandwich was the juiciest pan con lechón I have ever eaten. It was amazing. So we’re the other things we ordered. The place looks like ur in Cuba. The staff is super friendly & sweet. Loved this place. Word of advice, they only accept cash so stop at an ATM before u get there.

The 1st time my husband took me here(2004) we just started dating. I took a look at the place and thought he was crazy. I’m okay with a place that looks bad but the food is amazing but this was pushing it. Let me tell you I love this place. We order pan con croquetas con ajo en pan de medianoche, our son orders the same but without the garlic and our daughter is not a sandwich kinda girl so they make for her this crazy thing she like which is a tostadas with shoestrings potatoes inside(don’t ask). The fact that they willingly do it is amazing. I also order a orange pineapple juice with no added sugar with ice which is to die for. Don’t let the look push you away. This is where it’s at. Just one thing: parking is hell so be patient.

This place truly lives up to it’s name. It is the best milkshake around. I am very picky when it comes to mango shakes and this place never let’s me down. The pan con lechón is my personal favorite. It’s seasoned to perfection and always nice and juicy. The mojo and onions on it are delicious. All the sandwiches are cheap and awesome. They offer all the classic cuban style sandwiches. I also love the pan con bistec. The steak they use is good quality and not chewy. I also recommend the crab croquettes. They are crunchy on the outside and the inside is soft and juicy. It is stuffed full of crab meat. The menu also offers all sorts of natural juices. The pineapple juice is sweet and refreshing. You have to give it a try. It’s a genuine cuban style cafeteria. Just to give you a heads up… there is no where to sit. You have to eat standing up. The service is fast and good. Give this place a try and you won’t regret it.

This place is a diamond in the ruff. I’m from Los Angeles and luckily I stumbled upon this place. This place a lot like others around here very local, rubbing elbows with local workers coming in for lunch. Friendly staff, fast and very inexpensive. Medianoche sandwich and Mamey batido(fruit smoothie) for under 6 bucks! I suggest you order a «batido» it’s what Cubans call their shakes or fruit smoothies. Just pick your favorite fruit. Trust me! Mamey is what I suggest. Enjoy, cheers!

When I was a child I used to come here. This place it’s simply amazing! If you’re looking for authentic Cuban fast food this is the place. I’m a vegetarian and I love it here batido de mamey con pan de tomate y ajo! Simply finger-licking delicious! some cons are limited parking and no chairs for sitting. However, if you’re looking for takeout or some fast food then you found your spot.

This place has been here for like forever. If you can find a spot to park and you know exactly where this tiny place is, it’s the perfect place for lunch. Service is pretty fast and they do get rather busy. Prices are CHEAP for good fresh food. Has always been a reliable place to come eat typical well made authentic Cuban Sandwiches, e.g., Pan con Lechón, Pan con Bistec, Fritas, Pan con Tortillas, etc. In my opinion, however, they are no longer«THE» best batidos in Hialeah. Their secret has spawned throughout Hialeah through the years. Still great, though. Especially their fruit based shakes. This is one of those places that through the years they could have found another space with parking and all but, I’m sure it just wouldn’t be the same. Four stars… not five. Things to note and blah, blah, blahs: * Language here is español, however, you«may» be understood in English depending on who is taking your order. * Menu on the wall is 100% in español except for the words«lunch» and«vegetable.» * Parking — Good luck finding a spot that you like. * You walk-in, go straight to the counter, and wait behind the person who was there before you. Hopefully, the person you stand behind of was the person before you. You can always ask if you’re not sure. When you are acknowledged, your order is taken. Now, you stand and wait by the counters by the windows/door if nobody is already standing there eating. Then, at some point, someone will yell out your order, you walk back up to the counter and pick it up. If you’re Deaf like me and forget to wear your hearing aids, you’re screwed. Today was my first time here in YEARS. When really busy, expect chaos and confusion, hence, not issuing the fifth star. Update 3−23−15: Just came back from trying their Pan con Lechón. Amazing flavor but I found it to be on the smaller side of things. I could have had two.

Best pan con lechon in Hialeah. The shakes are awesome too. And I love the muelas de cangrejo too!

I have been going to this place for years. Over the years they have raised their prices over and over. Used to be a great value but now not so. Their sandwiched are small and the portions are really small. You have to eat standing up since there are no chairs. I liked the pineapple juice. The sandwiches are really really small. Seems like they get smaller every time I go there.

The best FRITAS ever – y«morir sonando»! Hidden gem indeed. Stand up counters, all fresh, fast, friendly service! Park at the McDonald’s parking lot and walk over. They are closed Sunday’s and half day Saturday’s…El Rey del Las Fritas has nothing on this place!

Great cuban sandwiches, very fresh, batidos always on point, ham croquetas were so tasty! You really feel that u are somewhere in Cuba, prices are cheap, u can not expect more. One star less because they should clean more often, too many napkins and waste on the floor.

This place never gets old, one of the best lunch spots in town. Cuban sandwiches and shakes at it’s finest! Try the muelitas de cangrejo.
