Goodlet Park

Great park!!! Lights are on until 8:45pm. Pretty clean and well l-​kept. There are some volleyball courts as well. There are also tennis courts.

The only reason why i give it a three is because they dont have swings!!! Or seating area really. Otherwise everything great.

This is probably the best park in Hialeah if you’re into fitness things. They even have a hockey rink here.

The only thing this park doesn’t have is a pool and, sufficient parking. But, we’ll get to the parking situation later.
For now, this park is named after World War II Vet James Harris Goodlet. He and his family moved to Hialeah in 1948. You can read more about him here:
The last time I was inside this park was in 1982. I went with my sister as a kid. My sister, still a young and vibrant Disco Queen from the 70s. She was signing-​up for a tennis membership. This park was still brand new. This park and everything that surrounds it were part of an empty field for most of my youth.
Whenever this park has an event, driving down West 8^th Avenue is a headache. Hialeah wasn’t this crowded in the 80s. They don’t have enough parking to accommodate extremely large crowds. Low and behold, I found out this weekend there is more parking on West 44^th Street behind Meadowlane Elementary. Behind the Adult Center.
I was here this weekend for Relay for Life with Hialeah Kiwanis. Anyways, the extra parking I wasn’t aware of is very «cute» but, still not enough to accommodate a large event. When I left, there were cars parked on the curb, illegally and more.
Very nice neighborhood park with lots to do that appears to be well maintained, though.

Good park, I know they offer sports for children in the community which is fantastic!

I love this park, great for jogging, playing basketball (they have four courts) racket ball court, tennis courts, baseball field and playground for the kiddies (baseball field being renovated)
They offer tennis lessons, and other stuff like tutoring. They have 2 new soccer fields between the track. And an update on the playground its now near the main pavilion.
They also have restrooms! Yay!
