This store opened, if I’m not mistaken, in 2011. It’s in a strip of shops that was constructed inside the parking lot of this section of Palm Springs Mile in the 90s. Since, stores/restaurants have come, but, are now gone. In 2011, I think, in came Harbor Freight Tools. I pass by this store all the time when I’m headed to or fro this section of 49th street. The shortcut to get here is behind all this. On the south side of 49th street. When you drive into this parking lot, access to the other side of Palm Springs Mile, the north side of 49th street, is a breeze. You avoid all the congested traffic, at any time of the day. From wall to wall, panoramic glass windows are outside. Giving you a clear view of everything available inside. I was intrigued, for a long while, to stop-in. But, parking was always an issue. BUT, we won’t get to that… as that unfortunate fact is neither their fault, nor, reflective of the star issuance on this here Unilocal. There are actually more than enough spots to station your vehicle, tightly. Once the glass doors opened and I stepped one foot inside, I was all like, «WOW! Why have I never been here.» Once I saw their prices, I was all like, «¡COÑÓ asere! I need to come shop here more!» But then, after I was done picking-out items, plural, it was time to make the line to pay. I made the unbelievable long line a first time. I said to mineself, «lemme go back and get that sprinkler at an amazing price… maybe the line will die down.» I wasn’t paying attention to the timing, but, I walked around for a tad before making the line, again. Nope…the line still reached the back wall. So, by the time I crossed the middle dividing aisle, I had enough time to start taking items out of the shopping cart as I slowly trickled closer to the registers. THEN, out of nowhere, an employee approaches me while I’m in line. Interrupting an amazing conversation that had developed in the now even longer line. I thought it was odd that he approached me. So, I thought, «maybe he’s taking me to a new line… since I was the only person with a shopping cart with items, plural, in it. Everyone standing in line at that time, were carrying their purchases with their hands. Three items, at most, at times. So, I lose my turn already halfway in line and follow him. First, to the back of the store. Then, I saw a glance of him, from afar, on the other side of the store. I don’t know what the Hell that was all about. That’s where I left the shopping cart, with items, plural, still in it… and left. Look, although they are not«Craftsman,» the prices here are unbelievably CHEAP. Same tools as their more expensive cousin, just with a more generic brand name. If you’re looking for a tool, they will have it here and, then some, at a very affordable price. It’s a damn shame… I really wanted that sturdy lighted work station for only $ 99 Dollars. AMAZING prices here. But, the more I stood in line watching three out of the four registers open, with customers standing in line holding onto only one to three items, I had time to ponder, this just ain’t worth the wait. Both Lowe’s and Home Depot are only minutes away. One of them, on the same street. and I still don’t know why the Hell I was called out of the long line. When I was already halfway there to pay.

This Harbor freight has a really good selection of tools and other miscellaneous gadgets . And with 3 cashiers you would think the line would move pretty quickly instead the line is backup all the way to the back wall of the store and than starts to curve down one of the aisle. After waiting nearly thirty minutes in line which was not moving I decided to put away what I planned on purchasing. These cashiers are clueless its pretty obvious that they did not know how to work the cash registers and the fact that they were all blonde might also have something to do with it.

I have been coming to this location since it opened in 2011. This store has every nook and cranny for the weekend warrior that is just trying to get things done. The prices are always great, and with coupons you can get a good bang for your buck!

This Harbor Freight location just opened last weekend, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. I’ve been working on a few home improvement projects, I needed a few power tools, and I didn’t want to spend a ton of $$ on them as I knew most of them would only get one or two weekends of use, then wouldn’t be used often after that. I’d seen Harbor Freight’s advertising before and knew they sold cheaply priced tools, and heard they had a few stores in Miami. When I checked their website, I saw that this location not far from the Palmetto had opened just last week! I must have spent 45 minutes here(and the store isn’t even that large!), and was like a kid in a candy store. I purchased a few power tools, but lots of other things like paint brushes, putty knives/scrapers, tin snips, files, drop cloths, a carpenter’s square and several other items. I also appreciate this particular Harbor Freight location, as it’s within about ½ mile of a Lowes, a Home Depot, Sears and even Wal-Mart and Target, so it’s easy enough to comparison shop or to stop at a few of those stores during 1 trip to grab everything you’ll need for most projects. One thing to note is that, while most all of their tools are less expensive than ones you might find at other hardware-type stores, this isn’t always the case so it may be worth checking around. Also, depending on your situation, you should consider the quality of some of the items they’re selling here, especially if you’re making a large purchase or buying something you plan to use long –term, as many of their items carry off brand names. The only part of this experience that I’d be critical of, and it was minor, was that the woman at the cash register/point of sale machine acted as if she’d never used one before so it took a long time for her to ring me up. Also, after I emptied my cart and gave her my items to check out, she leaned way over the counter to ensure my cart was completely empty, I guess to make sure I wasn’t stealing anything. Also, she wouldn’t simply fill the shopping bags after she ran my items through the checkout and hand the bags to me. Instead, she pulled my cart around so she could personally pack the items I’d purchased into the cart. Sorry, Harbor Freight. I love your store, your pricing on most things and I’ll definitely be back, but there’s no reason to treat everyone with suspicion.
