I had no idea what to expect when I entered K C Nails for the very first time. All I knew was that it was on my way home from work and they let me make a 6:30p appointment, which not many places do, especially when you call the same day. When I got there, it looked pretty decent, nice pedicure stations with massage chairs, nail stations, and there were about 5 people there. I waited a few minutes and a young woman started working on my nails. The very first thing that puzzled me was the fact that when I asked about the french manicure, she basically wanted to draw a white line on my nails and put a clear coat over it! I could be wrong, but everywhere else I have gone, they put a sheer pink-ish color on the nail beforehand. I opted for a solid color instead. Then, after my nails were done soaking and she was pusing back my cuticles, the tech actually STOPPED pushing back my cuticles and started pushing back HEROWN! I guess she must have noticed that I was staring at her with my mouth wide open, because she looked up at me after almost pushing back all the skin on her left hand and said«it’s new» and smiled while she began working on my hands again. I wish I could have come out of my state of shock soon enough to stop her, but the damage was done. That was unsanitary. I also did not see her clean any of the tools before or after using them on me… at the very least, she did a good job with my polish job(no thinner in the polish was a plus, too). On to my pedicure, which is the main reason why this place got two stars from me instead of one. A different person did my feet, and she did an great job! Due to the unfortunate way my big toenail grows, I am cured with ingrown nails for life. The tech was able to remove ALL of THEM! She also sanitized the tools before my eyes before she used them on me, which was a good sign from the get-go. I wish I got her name, so that others can ask for her, too! Overall, I would only go there again if I had no other choice. I paid $ 30 for a Mani/Pedi. not too bad, but if I have to go there again, it would only be for the pedicure.
