«¡WOAH! He issued them five stars on Unilocal… let’s all head over there in masses;» you may be telling yourselves? Hold-on there. Not so fast. There are a few things you need to know first. The good, however, outnumbered the star issuance. First off, this is not a supermarket, per se. This is actually a few large bays turned«supermarket» nestled amongst other warehouses. This business is in the far east corner of a line of warehouses. Across the street you get a view of the backside of a very busy shopping center. Someone, at some point, tried to masquerade the view with some grass and trees, but, to no avail. Parking is very limited here. The very few spots available have the bay number of their neighbors marked on them. I’m not sure if you could park there or not. Any available space within the tight parking area was being used by two trucks that were delivering new merchandise. Most people while I was here parked curbside. Either across the street or directly in front in the few open areas that didn’t already have a man-eating sinkhole filled with dirty water. It wasn’t many of us shopping here and the appearance of another customer was sporadic in time. The front of all the warehouses in this section have no curb appeal. This should all have been at least painted a long time ago. It isn’t «pretty.» The sign for this business is clearly visible from down the street. The entrance and exit doors are clearly marked. You can’t miss them. «Borrowed» large shopping carts are provided within an enclosed section of guard rails before you enter. I grabbed one and once I managed to keep the door open for shopping cart and myself, I was inside. You’re not going to find automatic doors here. Entering wasn’t so bad. Exiting with a shopping cart filled with groceries proved to be the bigger challenge. Once inside, to your right, is what appears to have once been a cafeteria-like«thing» furnished with tacky 1980s brown formica. It didn’t look like it’s been used in a while and is used for some storage. When you look forward, you get to appreciate just how large this business is. It’s quite expansive inside. Directly in front of me, while still standing just inside, were boxes of produce that were on sale. One being large aguacates for 99¢ each. Aguacates that were obviously hand picked from someone’s yard. No waxing or washing to make them look pretty. Some even still had part of the branch attached to them. If you’ve ever had an aguacate tree in your yard, you know what I’m talking about. I bought two, for now. I had no idea this business was even here. Just recently they sent a circular in the mail with amazing prices on items I look for when grocery shopping. I knew more or less what I was looking for. The items sold here are being stocked on the shelves very wisely. This made my shopping much easier. Whoever it is that is managing this place, is doing a very good job. I knew exactly where to expect everything I was looking for to be. Normally at these kinds of places, their produce sections are a mess of rotting legumes at cheap prices. Although a somewhat limited variation of items, it was clean and stocked with the basics, e.g., onions, peppers, garlic, pumpkin, apples, just to name a few. Their meats were also very nice. Each offered at amazing prices, e.g., poultry, fish, cow, pig. Everything sold here, obviously, is intended for an Hispanic kitchen. So here is my synopsys about this business: Am I going to stop going to the bigger big box supermarkets? Absolutely not since not everything is available here. However, if you’re in need of feeding a large number of Humans on a budget, you’re going to get amazing deals here. You will notice this with the extra large cans/bottles/containers/boxes being sold here at amazing prices. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if some restaurants/Chefs do their shopping here. Pay attention to their circular though. You will see individual items here for much less than at other places. Like, for example, the aguacates. It wasn’t just me going through those boxes and other things. I will be back real soon to purchase large pieces of now dearly departed animals. Again, well stocked at amazing prices. Fun Fact: Nothing you see while standing outside existed until about 1980. You are standing in what used to be part of the Everglades.
