TJ Maxx across the board is a pretty good place to shop. I stopped buying clothes from here a long time ago(they just rarely have things that I really like), but I do come here for their household items, whether those be candles, kitchen supplies, bed sheets, etc. — but lemme emphasize the candles. I can literally spend an hour smelling all the candles and leaving having made a n outrageously delicious smelling dent in my wallet. This store is usually pretty organized. Sometimes I go and it’s less organized, and sometimes it’s more organized, so I guess it just depends who is on staff for the day. The fitting rooms are clean, and the lady who manages it is the same(at least in my case) and is always sweet. The thing I hate about this store? The lines are always long! It’s so annoying. I can’t really blame it on them though, since they usually have 2 – 3 registers open, but yeah, it’s something worth noting. Also, the cashiers that I’ve encountered have all been nice and attentive, whether I’m purchasing or returning. Parking is usually easy to find!

My rating is based solely on my customer service experience not on the Store set up or articles sold within. I live in Hialeah and I understand the culture. Having said that I am embarrassed to say that I shop online and/or in Broward due to the horrible customer service you experience in Hialeah retailers. I was in retail for 22 years started at the store level and worked my way into upper management and then to Mall management. I can tell you that I would have never hired any employees like the ones I experienced at TJ Maxx in Hialeah. I made a 53 item order online for the holidays on my TJ Maxx card and had to return 4 items from that purchase and unfortunately the closest store to me is in the Palm Spring Shopping plaza on West 49th St. After waiting through a long line it was finally my turn on register 1 with cashier Beatriz. Of course she had broken English and I had to revert to speaking Spanish to her so she could understand what I needed done. Not that it bothers me to speak in my native tongue its just that you should know enough to carry on a full conversation with a customer if you are going to be the face of TJ Maxx. However, I digress. I went on to explain I needed to have my four items returned and proceeded to give her my credit card. She exhaled profusely as if that was a chore; she then called her Manager Alina Martinez over and the head cashier whose name escapes me to inquire as to how to do an online return. I had even gone as far as to circle the four items on my packing list receipts to make it easier for her and yet this was complicated. So you mean to tell me your store is in full Holiday swing and they havent trained you to do online returns? Mind you this was 2 days away from Cyber Monday so she should have been well versed in this matter by that point. Regardless, I stood there and watched her get a brief lesson on how to use the ticket machine to do my return. Not only was this taking a very long time but after the first ticket the machine went down and she uttered to me in vulgar Spanish«This damn piece of shit machine doesnt want to work» or «Esta mierda se jodio». She then proceeded to take all my items to a back counter to do the other tickets as if by magic the machine would work better by not standing in front of me. Then cashier #2 which I also do not know her name, walks over to her to use the same machine to do a ticket on a wallet that her customer was returning and magically she was able to make it work. So not only was I skipped in the process of ticket making but when I spoke up about her interrupting my transaction to get hers done, cashier 2, the MOD and my cashier all ganged up on me to state that I was wrong and that they did nothing wrong. My cashier even went as far as to tell me in Spanissh«Esto a mi no me importa asi que porque te voy a escipiar si e=no me afecta lo que tengo que hacer» or «Why would I skip you ite doesnt stop my work load and it doesnt matter to me anyhow» Now mind you I know from previous experience in the Broward stores, the return tickets for online sales are done on down time not during the initial transaction unless there is noone waiting in line, which was not the case since there was a very long line and only 3 cashiers open. In addition they were all wrong and did nothing to correct the matter. The reason why cashier 2 interrupted my cashier Beatriz is because her customer complained that her transaction was taking too long due to mine. None of this makes for good customer service. Again this is why I dont shop in Hialeah stores, customer service is lacking and the etiquette leaves alot to be desired.

There is Marshalls, Ross, and T J Maxx. They’re all in the department store family. Marshalls is the sibling that dropped out of high school, and did nothing with their life. Ross is the middle sibling that went to school, but did nothing spectacular with their life. They’re not bad, but they’re always behind their other sibling– T J Maxx. T J Maxx, of the three, is the most successful, organized, well accomplished, and decent of the three department store siblings. Although T J Maxx doesn’t have all the weird knick-knacks that Ross has, this place is always organized and has a large variety of brand name AND quality items at an affordable price. I always come here for my gym needs, and know that if I need work clothes this is the place to go. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the lines never seem to get too long here. If you are looking for: gym items, men’s clothes, bedding, jewelry, hair items, purses, or quality name brand clothing– come here. If you are looking for: knick knacks, shoes, cheap clothing, creams/lotions, baby clothes– go to Ross. If you are looking for a headache, go to the Marshalls in Hialeah.

If your looking for a place to buy brand names at a low price this is it. Once your in the store you will need plenty of time to browse and look for the good deals. This is great store for the whole family and also your household. They also offer layaway plans that is great for the holidays. Checkout lines may have you waiting for awhile but is worth it.

Hadn’t been to TJMAXX in a while. I like coming to these stores for browsing and always finding something I wasn’t really looking for. But, happy I did.(haha) TJ has a selection of top brands and others. Usually these types of stores are good to score a purse or some house stuff for the low. I do although find it a little aggravating when they see a long line and only have one or two registers open.
