This is the best fast food Chinese I’ve found in Nebraska. The House Special is wonderful and has some kick!

My wife was told by a co-worker that there is this little gem of a Chinese place in Hickman. We stopped by last weekend to give it a try. My kids had the sweet and sour pork, I had the chicken lo mein, my wife had Mongolian beef, and we all shared the crab Rangoon. I have to say, this place is pretty great. There is Chinese food and then there is Chinese food that tastes a bit more real and homemade. I have no idea what truly authentic Chinese food really tastes like, but I do know when something is just better. You can tell this is just a step up from the typical place. Really happy with it. It’s true, they have a smaller menu and when we stopped in to get a paper menu they didn’t have one, they told us to just take a picture of their menu board. LOL. I definitely recommend for people who don’t mind a small drive into Hickman for some pretty great Chinese food. I consider it a gem. I’m holding back the 5 star because I don’t just throw those out willy nilly. But it is a 4 star because it stands out.

Bo don’t know. At least he admits it. We have been eating at East meets West several years. Never had a meal that resembled Bo’s rant. We like the crab rangoon better than any we have tried in the area. We have never had anything there that even sunk to mediocre. We treat ourselves to a hickman trip for dinner at East meets West at least monthly. We have never been disappointed and we have enjoyed everything we have tried from the menu, which is too large for us to have thoroughly sampled. Orange chicken, Broccoli beef sweet sour pork, cashew shrimp Mongolian beef, pepper steak particular favorites. We like to try home grown places as we visit other areas. Always looking for local bbq, pizza, mexican, burgers, chick fried steak, chili etc. We have eaten in oriental restaurants on both coasts. The only place we weren’t in salt air that may have been better was Jets Palace in Hannibal MO. East meets West in Hickman is about the only local oriental place we eat anymore as there is no other local we like as much. As we travel, we always check Unilocal first as we decide on local food to try. Although we are dedicated users, this is the first review from us. Relying on Unilocal for good advice, causes us to feel the need to get this opinion on your record

This place is in a very convenient location and it is awesome to have the take out option in the rural community. The food is pretty good, my only complaint with the food is their Crab Rangoons are so tiny and not nearly what i like to see with my Chinese food.

Sorry. I’m no food snob. But I do know piss poor Chinese when I eat it. Where should I begin? Limited menu with a few dozen items. Portion sizes are just enough to make you mad. There are a womping 3 or 4 appetizers. Crab Rangoons are those shriveled up urchin pockets that slice the roof of your mouth and tiny as hell. Fried rice is bland. Peanut butter chicken is literally just fried chicken chunks with chunky peanut butter slathered on. Egg rolls aren’t good at all. Again: I’m not worldly when it comes to Chinese cuisine, but I DO know I’ve had much better and you’d be desparately hungry to go here.

Great food! Ate here again last night. Mongolian beef is excellent. Good portion sizes, great appetizers, very clean and outstanding service.
