I was headed home after a long day without a lunch break and getting hungrier by the minute when I was scrolling through Unilocal for a Chinese restaurant that I haven’t tried yet. The local places are either too bland, MSG-dependent, or just. mushy. I saw that Jade Palace was on my way, so I called and ordered Vegetable Fried Rice with Szechuan spice added, and an egg roll. 15 minutes later, the super-sweet lady behind the counter had my order and i paid.(Yes, cash only, i didn’t notice until i got there, but thankfully, I had enough on me.) On my way out it dawned on me: it’s Monday! I can get Chinese food on a Monday?! YES! The smells from the bag were too much for me to handle, so I got started on the egg roll. It was okay, I wasn’t impressed, but it wasn’t bad. I still chowed down on that bad boy the rest of the way home. When I got home and served my fried rice in a bowl like a civilized human being, i was first impressed with the variety and amount of veggies. Broccoli, shredded carrot, bean sprouts, bell pepper, onion, water chestnut, and chopped mushrooms. I hit the veggie jackpot! There was also some egg mixed in and the spice was just enough to give you a warm tingle. I’m totally ordering this again. So, what did we learn? –CASHONLY! –Carry-out or delivery only, no dine-in. –Open Mondays! Find them in the Hill Creek Shopping Center, just East of the Fairplay grocery store.

The best and most authentic chinese food you can get in the south suburbs. Their sweet and sour pork is a MUST! Everything is made to order and comes out really hot and fresh. This is an old school style chinese take-out place, so be sure to bring cash to pay. No credit cards accepted here. The minor inconvenience of them not accepting credit cards is worth it, though! This has now become my go-to place for chinese food take-out. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for some good, olé’ fashioned home-cooked Chinese food. I love it!

The Labrador family loves this place. We have been coming here for many many years. The owners are the sweetest people. We love ordering here for our family parties for the party trays.

Something about this place, there’s a charm with the quaint area and Mrs. Bing. She is nice, never has a bad day. I always get chop suey here and it’s different from other places I’ve tried in this neighborhood. Our family agrees that this is some real deal chop suey, we all like it. I’ve tried a lot of chinese restaurants in this area before I found Jades. Only place I go to for chinese food. Don’t miss out.

Great food… the lunch menu is amazing. You get a lot of food for the price. My family enjoys the food. Best Chinese food in this area and we tried them all. Great sesame chicken and their fried rice is awesome.

Found this place by accident, and I couldn’t be happier. This is the best take-out food that you’ll find in the area. The price is fair and the quality is top notch. This is my new place and I’m only coming here from now on regardless of the 3 mile drive it’s worth it.

When I moved from my hometown last year, I was anxious about finding a Chinese place I loved as much as the place I had gone to for years back home. After reading reviews on Unilocal,I decided to try out Jade Palace. I’m so glad I did — I’ve never had any other Chinese around here because it was so good the first time I went. Just beware — they only take cash, so be sure to hit up an ATM first! It will definitely be worth it!

I grew up in Hickory Hills, this is hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants in the south suburbs. The food is excellent quality and the owners are very friendly. They only take cash, so when you come to pick up your order be prepared. I can understand being a small carry out restaurant, not wanting to pay credit card fees. Great food!

Same lady here since I was a little girl! Now I will tell you she is the nicest lady ever and still looks the same :). Good fast service(I ordered take out, and in 10 minutes it was ready) cheap too. However, no matter how spicy you want the food it is never spicy. But the true reason I didn’t give this place 5 stars? Chinese food can’t be good for you and I never eat it.(first time I had it in a year) and always makes you feel gross after. So for health reasons please don’t go here often to save your stomach!

Big waste of time. Skip this Place. The place isnt clean, borderline dirty. I was told half hour, took 50 minutes. My order was short an eggroll, and they weren’t very good. One of my entrée’s was wrong, or they don’t know what General Tso’s Chicken is, cash only, It’s 2012, Who’s cash only, and there should be a sign letting you know that. No name taken to identify your order, no claim check or number to identify your order, they just match the order to your face, other customers were getting mixed up orders, it was a tuesday evening, not busy. If I have to say something nice, the orange chicken was pretty good. I wont be going back. When I tried to complain the Little olé Lady just kept telling me okay, okay, thank you, bye, bye.

The Jade Palace Chop Suey! The place is a small, no dining, nothing special, strip mall room. The room has a small desk where you tell the nice lady your order. No restroom facilities. They only take cash. The room has 6 waiting chairs. We have ordered three vegetable egg rolls, szechwan vegetables, vegetable fried rice, Mongolian beef and vegetable lo mane – sp?. $ 30 for a family of four of which two are teenagers. We will see how it tastes and what the portions are like. After dinner, Yum!!! The Mongolian beef is the best I’ve ever eaten. The sliced beef was like eating pieces of T-bone steak. Tender and flavorful. I definitely would buy it again. The rest of us feasted on ginormous amounts of veggies of different kinds. This food wasn’t pre-made. We had to wait for it and it was still so hot when I got home I could barely open the boxes. The vegetable egg rolls were a little weird tasting-so I added the teriyaki sauce to them then they tasted better. I eat them so infrequently that I can’t really judge them. But, my wife and son are vegetarians so I know good veggie food when I taste it and over all this food was very pleasing. Afterwards, I have no bitter aftertaste from the ginger or other spices they used, so i know they were fresh! We still have lots of leftovers for tomorrow. So, even though the rolls were a little weird I am going to give this place 5 stars.

Love this place. Good food good prices good portions. I’ve been coming here for Chinese for years now. The lady that works in the front is super nice. One time I tried to order vegetarian eggrolls but they ran out. She wouldn’t stop apologizing! I always get the Szechuan vegetables and vegetable fried rice. My dad’s staple is the beef and broccoli. Every time I try a new Chinese place I judge them compared to this restaraunt.

BESTCHINESEFOOD!!! This is my all time favorite Chinese place. It’s not dine in, just pick up. My family has been going here for over 10 years, and the same sweet lady still takes orders. The chicken chow mein and mongolian beef are the BEST! I’ve tried other chinese places nearby, and nothing compares to the quality and taste. My usual order is chicken chow mein, bbq pork fried rice, and sweet and sour pork. If I want something spicy I’ll switch out the chicken for either mongolian beef or kung pao chicken. Also, the lady almost never asks for your name, she knows by your voice or by your repeated order.

My boyfriend wanted to go to Panda Express but I said«nooooo, let’s go local.» Well… I’m sorry. This was the biggest culinary disappointment I’ve had in a very long time. I ordered over the phone and was told to pick up the food in what sounded like«cumpteen» minutes. I’m pretty sure by the time my boyfriend got there, it was closer to twenty but he still had to wait another ten or more. The place was cash only so he had to leave and come back… not their fault. I’m pretty sure when he came back, though, they mixed up our order with someone else’s… OR they have no idea what general’s chicken is AND think that«crab rangoon» is english for«disgusting mystery egg roll». boooo. this soured my whole night.
