I needed distilled water for my cigar humidor, so I stopped in at my local Dollar General, only to find a «space available for rent» sign. Curses, foiled again. Went next door to the Food Lion, couldn’t locate said distilled water.(See my Food Lion review update.) Upon exiting the Food Lion, I gazed toward the highway and spotted a yellow Dollar General sign. Surprise, a newly built, stand alone building off highway 127S. Onward, and upward. Back to the quest for the holy grail. Store impressions? Why the heck do they make these stores so $@^# crowded? Tight aisles. Can’t find anything! No rhyme or reason to the layout. No employees around to help… and no distilled water. Aaaargh. Purchases? One can of coffee and a gallon windshield washer fluid. Carpe diem: seize the day. The best that I can tell, there was only one lone employee in the store, Michael, waiting at the cash register. He was polite and mannerly. When he finished ringing me up, he took off running, because Dollar General makes their employees do everything. The prices are cheap here, but the tight layout irks me… LOL.
