Vip Nails

My experience here was not good. My nails turned out okay but the whole experience was terrible. She cut my skin right off the bat and couldn’t get it to stop bleeding. She didn’t ask if I wanted my nails cut or shaped. In the middle of the manicure she takes the tool that she is using on my fingers and opens a shipping box and then returns to using it on my fingers. Just didn’t feel sanitary. Do not recommend and will not be back.

I came to get my nails done with a friend who had been here previously, and liked that they did gel nails for less than other places. My initial impression was that it was in a pretty dated strip mall, and the inside could have used some sprucing up.
I wanted to get acrylics with the French white tips, and the middle-​aged, Asian gentleman that did them absolutely did not know what he was doing and was in an apparent hurry (even though we were the only people in the salon and it was at least 2 hours before their closing time.) As he was aggressively filing my nails he actually cut open the side of my finger and blood got all over the nail file, to which he clicked his tongue and sourly joked that I had «ruined his file.» I thought he would grab a new one, but instead used another to simply file the blood off the former and continued to use it on the rest of my nails… can you say unhygienic?! He clipped my cuticles so closely that two bled and they all looked enflamed for about a week– they even stung everytime I washed my hands!
The acrylic nails were applied well enough, but not even three days afterwards they began getting discoloured and turned yellowish– which indicates that the acrylic used was of pretty poor quality.
Needless to say, I will absolutely not be returning here and warning others to stay away!

I was in Hickory today and went to VIP Nails with 3 of my co-​workers. We all got manicures and were very pleased with the results. The salon was clean and service was friendly and efficient. If I happened to be in the area again, I would definitely go back here.
