George’s Place

Unfortunately, I think George’s Place is no longer at this location? Stopped by after work to pick up some dinner and it was DARK!!! Checked the phone number and it say’s the number is no longer in service?
Very sad.

Food is great here!!! Have had the burger numerous times and it it delicious. Georges wrap is amazing and just a playing grilled chicken sandwich has a great taste. My only thing is when are you opening again???

It was great when it was under the original owner George. He was awesome, real old school Greek guy, anyway his food was fine dining he shud open up a actual restaurant for more appreciation. Food display was on point as well

Love this place! Gyros are always great tasting, and ask for thyme with your fries! Amazing little Greek spot that satisfies craving for Greek food and more!

I visited this place when it first opened and it was already pretty good. Figured it was time I made a second trip.
Food is still excellent, nice clean, convenient location. The guys really are attentive to cooking promptly and well. They know their way around The lamb and other Mediterranean specialties.
The only small question in my mind about the visit today is involving the fact that the owner seems to be very into social media and other modern conveniences.
Being of similar mind, I used the eat24 app to order my food, only to find a big sign describing a special, which was exactly what I ordered. Through the eat24, which I found on Unilocal BTW, I was not offered a 20 ounce soda which would’ve been thrown in free had I showed up at the restaurant and placed my order and waited. Found it strange that the gentleman didn’t convert my order to this special, including the drink.
Oh well, this isn’t the kind of thing that will keep me from coming back. Still good food close to home.

Cute little place — nothing fancy, but perfect for what it is. The place is always clean, the food is good and customer service is great! Huge plus is that it is open late! The owner is very nice and accommodating and that’s really important to someone like me who has dietary restrictions. I recommend George’s Place — there’s also a wonderful laundromat in the same strip mall, do some laundry, eat a burger, gyro, wings, or some falafel while waiting… not a bad idea!

Really good burger, can’t wait to try sliders and wings. Took home grilled chicken over a greek salad and jessi loved it. She said she wished the white sauce had more flavor. Also got a gyro to bring to work tomorrow, can’t wait to get to work. Will be trying out other menu items soon. Hopefully a catering order also. Glad hicksville hasn’t lost good local spots…

Omg i ordered todays special. Chicken souvlaki, pesto, lemon. Spinach, eggplant, mozzerella on a great roll! So juicy and delicious. Hope that special is put on the regular menu!!! oh also the fries Rocked!

I ordered from here at 8pm. Waited until 930pm and still no food! They cancelled my order and didn’t notify me until 930pm. Now I’m hungry and could’ve ordered from other places but guess not they don’t care! Terrible

Food was really fresh love the bacon they used and loaded fries were loaded unlike some places which claim they are burger was more cooked then I ordered but was still juicy and delicious

Delicious!!! Clean, fresh. Yogurt sauce by far the best I’ve had I’m greek I know good sauce. Def my new greek spot! Go, you won’t be disappointed. Def one of the best greek spots around town!

My new favorite burger place, they have toasted rolls and large fresh burgers fresh ingredients, the place is run by the owner who went to culinary school and prepares all food fresh from scratch

Excellent food and great service make this place a diamond in the ruff. Every time I order something new there it’s a treat. I highly recommend the Bacon Egg Cheeseburger. Their lamb gyros are also really tasty.

Ordered delivery which came in well under an hour, which is a big plus as most restaurants it seems are an hour or more. The food was hot and fresh and looked awesome. My kids loved the hot dogs (they are particular about their dogs, weird for kids I know) and I had the signature wrap with fries. Those fries are very legit as they’re salted and seasoned well and slightly crunchy. The wrap (George’s Signature Wrap) was so good that I told my wife that if the wrap was a woman she should be worried cause I was having a love affair with it. Definitely ordering from this place again soon.

George must have pretty good taste, because he combined all my favorite things into his signature wrap.
I found this place on Grubhub because I was looking for a new place in the area to try. I ordered George’s wrap which is filled with Chicken, bacon, mushroom, onion and cheddar. What a great combination of flavors. It comes as a deluxe with fries for $ 2.00 extra. I read somewhere on Unilocal that they serve handcut fries but these definitely were not handcut. They were still good nonetheless, crispy, and well salted. Thanks for that because lately a lot of restaurants hold back on the salt.
There were plenty of napkins in my bag, no utensils but this meal didn’t really require them but I would have liked some condiments. I’m glad the fries were salty because they forgot to include some ketchup.
The wrap itself was well assembled and stuffed with white meat chicken. The chicken could have been seasoned a bit more but it did have that grilled flavor and was cooked well. The bacon did a good job of adding a saltiness factor as well as a little grease so it wasn’t too dry. The bacon was also crispy, another plus because I hate chewy bacon. The onions and mushrooms were sauteed nicely and gave the wrap a hint of sweetness.
There were four guys on duty when I went there. As I exited one of them told me to take a menu and that they deliver. Well judging by the fact that I used Grubhub and delivery is listed as an option there you’d think he would figure out that I knew that but thanks for the info lol. I actually like to go out and pick up my food because if I didn’t I’d be sitting in this corporate chair all day at work. I was the only customer in the store but it was a snowy day so it’s understandable.

I called for a delivery at 8:00 pm a gyro deluxe with all the sauce on the side or not at all because I really don’t like it. Well when the driver came they charged me for a platter which was $ 6.00 more and never gave me the salad with it. I gave the guy anyway $ 20. I opened the bag up and the gyro was full with extra sauce. So I called them back and spoke to the manager Dominic which told me sorry they are close and can’t re do another one and to call back tomorrow and he will give me 25% of next time. So I said well Dominic I over paid by 25% and had to throw away the food. I paid $ 20 for a $ 9.95 meal and still didnt eat it. So what do I do now. Still waiting for the answer. Never again will I go there or order from there or even recommend anyone to eat there.

We were led here by other Unilocalers reviews which in this case was a mistake. The reviews with 4 & 5 stars was misleading. Lets start with the Spinach Pie– Terrible… the Phyllo dough was falling apart and difficult to cut or chew causing the whole thing to fall apart. The spinach pocket was very thin and the spinach tasteless… certainly not what a good Greek place would serve… looked frozen! Met George who others are saying was very friendly. We are easy going but he was not outgoing or particularily friendly to us and we always do well in ethnic restaurants, even if they dont speak English! Its closer to a take out joint then a «restaurant». Also on a down note, the Gyro meat, which did come off a rotisserie, was not well seasoned as should be. The Gyro sandwich was substantial but not tasty. This is the first Greek place I have been to that doesnt serve peppercini’s in the Greek Salad. My disappontment shows in this review because I went in with great expectations and didnt experience that wow factor as it seems others did. Believe me when I say I did want to have a great meal there. Also, one more thing… I told the girl at the counter I had a 10% Unilocal instant discount on my smart phone and she told me she would take off bill… never happened.

5 stars for quality and delicious food. The guy behind the counter George definitely seems genuinely interested in serving quality food to all his customers. The service can be a little slow but the amazing food makes up for it.

GP was disappointing. I had such high hopes for your place after reading many glowing reviews. It just was not that good. The food was either to cold (gyro wrap) or to burning hot (veggie wrap). Additionally, gyro meat was VERY salty. French fries were mediocre. So-​So place with So-​So taste. No more time to waste.
