I ordered sesame chicken that wound up being gray and chewy. It felt like chewing on a raw piece of meat. When I brought it back, they told me it was just the corn starch – as if that makes it any more appetizing. Dug into my replacement and found pieces that had gooey middles and some that seemed as if they were hollow. To make matters worse, the pork in the pork fried rice tasted like rubber. People wonder why I rarely order from any Chinese restaurant other than Hunan Dynasty. This is a prime example why.

The restaurant is not much to look at, it’s pretty run down but sometimes dives have good food so I ordered nonetheless. I got the shrimp and broccoli with vegetable fried rice. The shrimp were jumbo sized and cooked well with decent flavor. The broccoli was also good. Extra points for putting mushrooms in the rice, not all Chinese places do that and I love mushrooms. There was also two pieces of some kind of mystery vegetable. I have no idea what it is so I didn’t eat it but it was pale yellow in color, kind of roundish and looked chopped up. It almost resembled a firm unripe avocado inside. If anyone can tell me what that was that would be fantastic lol The rice is definitely on the greasy side and rather than make it yellow style it appears to be brown in color from whatever they season it with. The total is $ 6.15 plus tax which ended up being $ 6.68. The options with the lunch special are only soup or soda. No egg roll option like the place I usually order from. I just got the soda. The portion size was average but definitely below what I am used to at my usual place. At China House they pack the containers so full you can barely close them and you can order the same thing for about $ 6 including tax with the option of egg roll, soda, or soup. Aside from the place being not so clean it reiked of cigarettes and the guy taking my payment upon exit was clearing the plegm from his throat as he spoke to me. Um gross! The food wasn’t bad but I will stick with my usual place, thanks!

I have been going there for years but latlely it just has not been good. Today I got ribs and rice, the ribs were greasy with little meat on them and the rice was like paste with no taste. I’m done

I hadn’t been here in years, and last night it was after ten and I needed to eat. Hello Tommy’s Kitchen!!! Yup, they were opened for me. I’m not sure how long it had been since I had been there. They were a regular stop for me about ten years ago, but I stopped working in the area. The woman behind the counter is still just as nice as she was, and my pork with bean sprouts was fantastic. Oh yeah, how could I forget about my egg roll? I’ve been unimpressed with the egg rolls I’ve been getting lately. I find a lot of Chinese Food Stores are stingy with the meat in their egg rolls. This wasn’t the case with Tommy’s, that egg roll was damn near perfect. Now, what I find necessary with an egg roll is fresh mustard, and Tommy’s Kitchen didn’t fail me there either. Sometimes the fresh mustard is more liquid than I like it. The mustard I had last night was thick, almost to the point of being a paste. I couldn’t just pour it out of the little container and had to get a knife. It was nice and hot like I enjoy it. Tommy’s is probably just over ten minutes away, but I’m pretty sure they’re my new go to spot for takeout. I don’t care if I pass three or four places on the way there. I’ll see you soon Tommy’s Kitchen!

We have been ordering regularily from Tommy’s since my accident on the ice. Although we are actually past the outer fringe of their delivery area they have been gracious enough to come to us which has been a food blessing. They are so friendly on the phone and their delivery guy Hong is a pisser… always comes in and plays with the dog… Food: Luv their Roast Pork Appy… lots of great pieces of juicy pork chunks. better than ribs! ad no bones… All their dishes are available in either small or large portions allowing a variety of choices to be had at reasonable prices. The MOO Shoo Pork is tasty with good sauce and commercial pancakes which work well. The Shrimp in Lobster sauce and they use large shrimp perfectly executed. All their beef dishes have nice slices of meat, surprisingly goodl, and cant forget the eggplant dishes. mmmm! When we have company, this is our new go to place to order from. We really appreciate their courtesies and look fwd to them continuing delivery to our area.

I thought that the fried rice had good taste and was cooked perfectly. The eggroll was crispy but tender, which worked very well. The chicken and broccoli in garlic sauce is usually my favorite Chinese dish. Here It tasted very bland and oilly. It was not spicy at all and the sauce had no flavor. Also usually broccoli is very soft in Chinese dishes but was not in this case. The food was fresh. I may go back but will definitely try something different if I do.

When we first moved to Hicksville we started looking for restaurants that delivered. Although we found a Colombian and an Italian place with really good food and they delivered, we didn’t have much luck with Chinese(the usual mainstay for delivery). The fancy-looking Chinese/Japanese restaurant around the corner was only«Eh!» So last weekend I hit« Unilocal!» and searched on Chinese delivery in Hicksville. Tommy’s popped up and all the reviews were good, AND they have online ordering from the web. Tonight we decided to give them a shot. Apparently, so did everyone ELSE in Hicksville! The delivery was later than we expected, but they were VERY apologetic. I guess everyone anticipates a blizzard by sending out for Chinese food around here. The food was MUCH better than the last place we’d ordered from. The hot & sour soup COULD have been a little more sour, but I’ve had worse… MUCH worse. This wasn’t bad at all and had a nice, lingering burn when I was finished. I also liked the variety of mushrooms they used(I’m a sucker for mushrooms). The shrimp in black bean sauce and General Tso’s chicken were both superb. The ingredients were very fresh and they were both very tasty. I’d actually meant to order the squid in curry sauce, but noticed my mistake after I’d already placed the order. My wife told me to call and make the correction, but since I love damn near ANYTHING in black bean sauce I let it stand. I’ll try the squid next time. The only reason I didn’t give them five stars? I was disappointed in the cold noodles with sesame sauce. It tasted more like noodles in peanut butter and didn’t have any«burn» at all. I can fix that up myself with some chili oil though. It was the only real let-down from the whole meal. We’ll definitely be ordering from them again. Great find, and thanks, Unilocal

Great food. They can pretty much steam anything you ask for(atleast what i order) I try to eat on the lighter side generally when eating Chinese so I’ll get my meals steamed with the sauce on the side and with brown rice. Their garlic sauce is tasty. Some of their sauces can a bit oily. This is my go to Chinese place. I pretty much always get shrimp or chicken with eggplant.

Ordered a Sunday night craving from here about a week ago and there is not much to complain about. The ordering process was amazing because I ordered online and gave some preferences and set a time for the food to be delivered. I was able to pay and tip online. The only thing that was slightly annoying is that the food was delivered about 15 mins past when I set the time. Had I had company over, this might have been a bigger problem. I ordered my favorite, Moo-Shu Shrimp and steamed vegetable dumplings because I think this is the healthiest I can be while eating chinese food. The dish was great and very very fresh! They gave plenty of wraps for the Moo-Shu as well. The dumplings were especially fresh, they tasted hand made! I am definitely excited about ordering from here again.

It’s a small Chinese restaurant with a few tables in which to sit and stay. The food is so good! I have trouble digesting Chinese food sometimes but this place cooks with fresh products and the price is perfect. They have lunch and dinner specials and although they get really busy during lunch, the wait isn’t long.

Very convenient ordering online! We really enjoyed the cheese wontons(crab Rangoon) and fried dumplings were crispy light and sauce was flavorful. Really good. We also took the advice of another Unilocaler and got roast pork egg foo young. We all enjoyed it very much. Tasted like egg foo young from my childhood. Very fresh. Lo mein was a little bland but not greasy and fresh. My son also liked the won ton soup and shrimp with lobster sauce had lots of garlic which he also liked. Will be ordering again.

Tommy’s Kitchen is a well run, clean and delicious take out restaurant. It is family run and prides itself on quality, so the food always tastes fresh. For a take out restaurant, it’s hard to beat!

Ok food! I normally order my food«less sodium less oil» otherwise the food can be quite salty and greasy! Ok tasting fried rice, little too greasy! I order my food from here cuz I don’t know any other place!

I much prefer kitchy looking places when it comes to certain food, especially chinese food, this place has great portions of food and great tasting as well, for pretty cheap. It’s small, some of the menu sign backlighting is flickery, it seemed like the cooking staff was family run. But I like it that way. If i went to get chinese food and I walked in to a giant dining hall with bamboo and gold curtains lining the wall, with some mandolin version of «imagine» by john lennon being played over the speaker system, and i had to wait to be seated at a red cloth covered table, i’d have left. This place is great just the way it is. I got the General Tso Chicken, Eggplant in garlic sauce, and steamed vegetable dumplings, everything turned out amazingly, and the containers they serve in it for take out are reusable(really sturdy tupperware), which is really great for leftover reheating, the variety of dishes is really great too. Overall the food, the customer service, and the atmosphere is great. Oh and they deliver too.

Ordered the moo shu shrimp and sick as a dog with food poisoning. Sorry to be the first one to write a bad review, but I had to do something in between trips to the bathroom: O(

Not to be mistaken with Tom’s II Kitchen about a mile down the street. This is my go to spot for cheap quick chinese food in the hicksville westbury area. This is typical LI chinese food. Its a notch better then the many places in the area. I had to take a star away because sometimes they forget to bring utensils and condiments. I gotta remind the lady taking the order to put that stuff in there.

Very generous portions, and well-priced lunch specials. I like that their diet menu isn’t only delicious, but falls into a great price point for the amount of food you get. The barbecued pork comes very close to what I remember getting in bao(eg: moist, not super dry like most places tend to serve it) which is a huge plus in my book.

Chinese places come a dime a dozen. Especially in NY. So when you find one that impresses, stick with it! 1st let me say that the egg foo yung may be the best I’ve ever had. The sauce comes separate without asking so it’s not soggy when you get it. Then obviously add as much as you want. Steamed or fried dumplings are one of my Chinese food staples. Looking at this menu I see something called Chinatown Dumplings. Gotta try it. The shell is thinner than other dumplings & the filling is much more flavorful & fresher tasting. So thanks to Tommy’s I have a new staple! My only complaint is the Singapore chow Mei fun. Always one of fave Chinese dishes… here it was lacking a bit. But they have some other great things that will keep me coming back. Highly Recommended; The above & the eggdrop wanton soup. Awesome! If this place is a little further than your usual make the trip one time to try it.
