We’ve purchased furniture from Hilda for over 25 years and have never had anything but outstanding service from this company. The prices cannot be beat! Hilda is very knowledgeable and is quick to provide input if she feels one product is a better option for a customer, even if it’s at a lower price point. Just received another delivery from H.P. Furniture yesterday and the delivery service was prompt and professional. No reason to shop local when you can save $$ and still have excellent service.

Unfortunately, we were unable to do business with HPFS, at their choosing. We dealt with Michelle for most of the«shopping» phase of our experience — the first indication that our experience would be negative was early on when Michelle did not provide a written quote for the sofa brand we ultimately decided to buy. Overall, we were satisfied with Michelle and decided to buy from HPFS in spite of the fact they did not give the best price — we had quotes from 6 different dealers. We made a final decision on a McKinley Leather sofa and specified all the variables in our request for quotes, e.g., sofa model, leather style/grade, cushion type, wood finish, and stitching. Every detail was confirmed by direct contact with the owner of McKinley, Lori, prior to requesting quotes. Following common«best practices», we requested HPFS to provide a detailed written quote, as we did with the other 5 dealers. Michelle informed us that it was her boss’s policy to not provide written quotes via email — she said that both my wife and I would need to drive to the store where we would be provided an invoice after a 25% deposit was made. We asked Hilda, the owner of HPFS, to send a written quote via USPS in lieu of email — Hilda said they would not provide a written quote in any format or method until the 25% deposit was made. We advised Hilda that we wanted the written quote to insure all specifications for our order were correct. Hilda assured us we had nothing to worry about, that the order would conform to our specifications. Reluctantly, we paid the 25% deposit — Hilda emailed the invoice soon afterwards, along with a message that we would«have to understand that the stitching we requested was not available on the sofa» model in question. I immediately contacted Lori at McKinley, who confirmed that all of their stitchings are available on all sofa models. I forwarded to Lori the email and invoice that Hilda sent us — the invoice specified a different stitching than what we specified. I also emailed Hilda to inform her to not proceed with the order, and to not process the deposit, until the stitching issue was resolved — Lori indicated that the HPFS amount may not be valid as there is an upcharge for the stitching we specified. Hilda emailed back with the following message, in part: «Michelle has stated that she does not wish to continue with this sale. Being that I am a third party to the situation, we have concluded that due to your dissatisfaction with our policies it might be best for you to find another company that has policies that suit your needs.» Bottom line: HPFS does not publicize their«policy» regarding written quotes, nor advise us of such policy ahead of time; no other dealers refused to provide a written quote; no other dealers incorrectly told us that baseball stitching is not available on the sofa in question; the dealer we placed our order with had more favorable payment terms and even compromised the price based on our negative experience with HPFS; we gave HPFS every opportunity to resolve the situation to their satisfaction and she opted to not do so.

Have bought from High Point Furniture Sales 3 or 4 times. I usually deal with Cathy. She is always prompt to get questions answered and get pricing quotes for me. They can get most anything. We have bought 2 bedroom sets and a number of other pieces. The order and delivery always go smooth. We are currently in the process of looking for a new sofa and they have given us good advice in what to consider.

Bought an amazing sectional from this company 4 years ago and it looks nearly as good today as it did when it was delivered! AMAZING prices. I live in California — retail furniture hell — and this dealer sales at 50−60% less. The catch is that if you can’t actually GO to NC, you have to do your own homework, have to find the manufacturer and style numbers of the pieces you want yourself. And if you’re buying upholstery, you also have to choose your fabric and be able to give them the fabric number so they know how to price. But the savings is more than worth the footwork. You pay delivery and set up fee, but NOSALESTAX if you live outside NC! Fantastic quality at a tremendous savings. Highly recommend! They have a showroom and a warehouse. Google them to get to their website and see what manufacturers they represent.
