K & W Cafeteria

Horrible food. All I could taste in the chicken stew was salt. I also had broccoli with cheese sauce. Not even sure there was cheese in the sauce. Just flavorless.

My carry out meal was very disappointing. I have not been to K&W in years. It used to be really excellent food. Today, that was not the case. For starters, the carry out attendant grunted at me and never once cracked a smile or said thank you. That is a real pet peeve of mine. Employees should be taught to show appreciation to their customers. Now to the food: it was awful. The country style steak was grizzly and had absolutely no flavor at all. The gravy was bland, the meat was tough — literally no flavor at all. The mashed potatoes actually tasted good. The gravy on them was flavorless. The lima beans were overcooked and mushy. All in all, this meal was very disappointing, and to be honest three stars is very generous. Oh yes, almost forgot the apple pie. The crust was obviously not homemade, which I understand because of the volume they have to make. The taste was good enough, but there were literally five little slices of apple in the entire piece. I threw away the top half of the crust because there weren’t enough apples to accommodate the crust. Again, this meal was not good at all, and that is disappointing given that this restaurant used to have excellent food. I don’t expect to return. J&S is not as good as K&W Used to be, but it is a lot better than K&W was today.
