My husband loves fried chicken so we decided to try this place. He also loves mac and cheese, and they had that too. We were getting food to go to take to the drive in, so at 1:30 we picked it up and didn’t eat until 7:30 that evening and we didn’t have a way to warm it. However it was FANTASTIC, even cold and I can’t wait to go back and try it fresh and hot. Simply wonderful and definitely cooked with love and pride. Now last but not least you HAVE to try the deep fried corn bread. It was like a desert but not. Simply too good for words. Apparently everything is cooked to order so be prepared to wait a bit, but I will promise you it is worth your time.

This is excellent fried chicken Mac and cheese and fried okra they make these crazy cornbread pancakes I could eat everyday all day. So amazing even that the owner came out to greet us. Don’t wait to pray that this place stays open forever. Will go back again every time we are in high pint!

Now located on Lexington ave next to lubranos, this is primarily a take out restaraunt. We did eat in but the majority of orders were take out. Just a small place, nothing fancy but the food is yummy!!! I had the pork chop with Mac and cheese and collard greens. Hubby had pintos, slaw and hamburger steak with grilled onions. All seemed to be homemade and everything was delicious! Portions are large and prices are reasonable for the quality and amount of food. For some good home cooked soul food, this place can’t be beat!

This small soul food restaurant is temporarily closed due to a recent fire. Hope it will reopen.
