Like other commenters mentioned the décor and intended ambiance was nice– except that where we sat outside they had old 90’s country music playing. That style of music does not go with Asian fusion or the beautiful patio setting at all. We ordered three sushi rolls– the dragon roll, the hand roll tuna and hand roll sesame salmon. First, it should be mentioned, by the server or the menu, that these rolls are not traditional. They come out cone shaped and were honestly hard to eat and even harder to share. Secondly, the dragon roll just tasted like it was covered in mayonnaise. Not only do we not recall mayo being listed in the ingredients but after telling one of our servers(we had two, presumedly the trainee heard our complaint), not only did we never see or talk to a manager or even have our server apologize or offer any consolation after our distaste, but we we’re given no discount. And we only took two bites and sent it back because we didn’t like it. This place has so much potential and we hate to write it off so quickly and after just one visit but the night was a disappointment beginning to end. We are on our way to another restaurant to try and salvage our night out.

60 N. Main A nice alternative from all the fried food filled restaurants in the area! our waiter Lorin was absolutely top-flight in every respect! Service like this goes along way in creating loyal customers. He should be the general manager he knows how to handle people he understands what good service means and he added one star to our review. The Oysters Rockefeller was just average, small and the mixture on top was really lacking in every respect. I ordered a sidecar it was marvelous! We ordered lobster Diablo and softshell crabs, both entrées were nicely executed very tasty and good quality. As far as the ambience the chairs and tables could use a little sprucing up but the space is quite nice. I feel that this restaurant and the owner operator has what it takes to become even better and evolve into food destination. The passion is all there!

This place has so much potential, it’s a shame that the service fell so short for an upscale restaurant. We were looking to treat our friends to an excellent meal. The ambiance is lovely, the live piano a nice touch. Unfortunately, we were passed around between servers before someone decided to take our order. I’m not sure anyone ever actually took full responsibility for taking care of us. The little details that make all the difference, like an enthusiastic(or even accurate) description of specials, complete service(they forgot the butter that comes with the bread service) and communication when the food took exceptionally long, all of those things were missing. No one even tried to sell me a second glass of wine. We did see better, more attentive service happening around us. When the food finally arrived, the sides were cold. Sigh. All that being said, the food was good. My steak was perfectly prepared and quite tender. It was simply cold. The mashed potatoes had a lovely, delicate flavor. They also had a slight crust from sitting on the plate so long before it arrived. My boyfriend’s lamb was tasty. My friend’s risotto was delightful, tho cold. No one wants cold squash. No one came to ask how our meals were. Our waitress showed up to clear plates and didn’t ask if we had enjoyed our meals. We were abandoned in a way even a diner would find cringe worthy. When I finally had an opportunity to let our server know we were unhappy, she mumbled an excuse about being under staffed and fled. Disappointing. They need a serious front of house training day(or two).

The ambiance of the restaurant is upscale and classy. The bar is nicely arranged and is well stocked with wine, booze, and many microbrews. They often have live music in the front of the restaurant. The three bands that I’ve listened to in my previous visits were very good and added nicely to the décor. None of them were so loud that you couldn’t continue a conversation with your dinner or bar companions. All of these bands played some form of country, bluegrass, western, or folk. If you compare drink prices to other bars of this caliber, the drink prices are very fair. As previously mentioned in others reviews, there is lots of bread. The sourdough is wonderful and very easy to overindulge on. The menu is simple and I like menus that way. It appears to be based on the chefs specialties and best found ingredients to prepare a great dinner. I had the tuna steak very lightly seared and it was what I expected. It was served with a rice noodle that was way too salty for my taste. My wife had a steak which was very well prepared and tasted good too. The mashed potatoes that came with it were a little short. The serving should have been more than two tablespoons. Our waiter wasn’t up to par for a restaurant attempting to be a five star. He forgot to take one of our parties dinner orders(party of six) and was very inattentive at keeping the wine, beer, and cocktail, glasses full. Not everyones food came out at the same time either. This should have been an easy task considering the restaurant was only half full and most everyone else had already dined. As a reviewer, I’m always looking for value. I can’t justify the food prices for the quality and type. There’s nothing very exceptional about it. The appetizers that I saw come out of the kitchen looked really good and the diners around us seemed to enjoy them. The band, a few cold drinks, and an appetizer or two just might be the best way to enjoy this establishment.

Classy, ‘hip’ space. Fun to be there. Attentive service. Great outdoor patio(beer garden). Our party of 4 enjoyed our meals. Bread, bread, bread! Some of the BEST bread that I have ever been served in a restaurant. One issue — $ 24.00 and $ 25.00 is a bit much for any pasta dish. Saturday evening featured music in the beer garden.

Ambiance and service was wonderful! Food was lack luster, not seasoned well, and VERY expensive. We had crab cakes that were tiny(3 of them) and had no seasoning. For $ 10.00 you expect more than that. we ordered 3 sushi rolls(at $ 10.00 a pop) and they were small and loose and fell apart while we were trying to eat them. Please, please come down on your prices or you’re never going to last. This place is beautiful and we’d like to see you around but if you don’t revamp those prices, it’s never going to work.

Subpar service with a chef that would rather have the appearance of his food make more of an impact then make his customers happy. I wanted my meal over a different veggie and was told the chef didn’t fill requests. Wife had scallops served raw and was told that they were done good enough. With a high prices on their menu, one would think orders would be tailored and the food would be cooked.

Most who live in the High Springs area may find this restaurant expensive, and it is. However, sometimes you get what you pay for. The atmosphere, service, and food is that of five star adult dining that you would find in a large metropolitan area. When I walked into this restaurant it transformed me… to think that I was no longer in the small town of High Springs. There is not another dining establishment in the High Springs that can compare to 60 North Main. The menu is online. Check it out… you will say to yourself«that sounds wonderful and I cannot wait to try it». That’s what happened to me. Parking is the con in this rating, as it is very difficult to back up on a street that is not when tractor trailers and other vehicles pass by at 30+ miles an hour and do not stop for pedestrians in the crosswalk. Specials, «Ladies Night» and other menu changes or special events could be updated daily via Facebook or Twitter instead of finding out once you are there. All being said; If you want a five star ***** dining experience, then visit High Springs and dine at 60 North Main!

If I could give different ratings for different aspects of the restaurant, I would give higher marks for the ambiance and atmosphere. It is tastefully decorated, and the live piano music added a beautiful touch(although a bit loud for such an intimate atmosphere). The wine and beer menus are expansive, as they should be for a restaurant with«Beer Garden» in the heading. We were apparently there for their«Ladies’ Night» last night, but no one informed us of this during our experience. The food selection is rather abbreviated, and the cost is not for the faint of heart(or wallet). Mind you, I am not opposed to a high end restaurant. I LOVE Embers in Gainesville. But that being said, there is a much broader selection to meet a spectrum of palates. I do feel it is excessive to charge over $ 20 for a Fettuccine dish. Let’s be realistic… it is pasta in a cream sauce. My husband and I had the Dragon and Philadelphia rolls from the sushi menu for dinner, as truly those were about the only things on the menu that appealed to us. Both were disappointing. The presentation, though artistic, was not proper sushi preparation. They fell apart the moment you set your chopsticks on them. The rolls were uninteresting, and over sauced. Sushi is supposed to be a range of flavors, from the fish to the vegetables. Sadly, there was so much sauce added for«presentation» drizzle and flash, it completely overshadowed the other ingredients. Obviously, this restaurant will meet the needs of some. It’s just not quite what we enjoy, but you can’t please everyone. Pros: Beautiful restaurant, artfully presented foods. Cons: Exceeds most budgets, minimal food selection.

Excellent food with a welcoming upscale atmosphere and well-trained staff. My husband and I ate here and had the crab cakes, escargot, and each had a steak. Let me tell you– Delicious. Huge selection of French wines, wonderful pianist playing in the background on a gorgeous Grand piano. What an awesome night! High Springs is happy to have you!
