I used Drapery Connection one time to purchase Norman shutters and I’m very sorry that I did. I found out after all was said and done that most things I was told were not true and the pricing was so high compared to what I did get at another place on a subsequent order. I am sorry I ever did business with them. For other shutter orders, I went to Lewis Carpets in Northbrook(they do shutters, too) and received much better service, honest, accurate and true information and much better pricing. This review is person-specific and not necessarily representative of the entire company. I had a horrible experience with Interior Design consultant Julie Massey. I made my appointment two weeks out due to minimal availability for late appointments given my work schedule. I was interested in purchasing blinds for my new home as soon as possible and made that very clear. I was slated for a consultation on Wednesday, November 19th with Julie Massey. Oddly, Julie called me on Tuesday(11⁄18) to reschedule my appointment for that afternoon, which I could not accommodate due to work. It was not a huge deal; however, from this point forward I began to feel like she was doing me a favor and I was no longer the customer. On the day of our appointment, Wednesday(11⁄19), we had a brief consultation which was not a problem given that I knew exactly what I wanted, where, and in what color. After my consultation, the customer service and professionalism significantly declined. I reiterated I wanted my shades promptly and Julie stated she would provide me with an estimate the following day(11⁄20). Needless to say, I never received the estimate, so on Friday afternoon(11⁄21) I sent a follow-up email and did not receive a response. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and wrongfully assumed she became busy. I couldn’t help but feel that I was not being taken seriously and that my project was unimportant. On Monday(11⁄24) I called her cell phone, left a message, and was unable to reach her until I called the 1(800)245−7790 number to figure out what the problem was. Much to my surprise, Julie was in the office; I was put on hold only to be told she«couldn’t talk at the moment» but that I would receive my estimate soon. At this point, I was utterly disappointed and felt as if I was imploring for my shades. Later that afternoon, I received an estimate based on our consultation, and the lack of professionalism became even more apparent. It was evident no time nor effort was exerted despite the fact I had patiently waited days for an estimate. Julie Massey did not even have the courtesy to apologize for her lack of timeliness and did not follow-up on my missed calls. At this point, I am insulted and fely it absolutely necessary to write this review. I will never recommend nor conduct business with Julie Massey and the Drapery Connection in any capacity again.
