I wish I would have left a review for him sooner, but I guess this is just my way of reflecting on a great man. He was my doctor, not so much my psychologist, but that didn’t stop him from checking in on me, keeping note of everything I told him, and meeting with me last minute when needed. He continued seeing me as he struggled with his own health issues and always shook my hand, smiled, and wished me well. For that, I am eternally grateful to have had this great man in my life for the last few years. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family. RIP Dr. Greendale… and thank you for looking out for me even through your own struggles.

Find a different Doctor. Dr. Greendale gave me a prescription that made my condition worse. Very short exam and he did not have enough information to make an informed recommendation for treatment. The staff at the office will not let you talk to him if you have a question. I should have used Unilocal before I went.:(Two thumbs down!

I’ve been putting off my review for Dr. Greendale for quite some time but after seeing another negative review of him I thought I should chime in. I had a summer appointment with him at his office downtown that overlooks Millennium Park. When I first arrived I sat down in a tiny room that only had a chair and table with magazines and a clipboard for filling out personal information. I have never seen an office set up this way before. I filled out the forms and then waited. What was I supposed to do next? Oh, I see a tiny red button that I’m supposed to press. I do this and I see Dr. Greendale and woman who does not look very happy leaving the office. I am soon to be this same woman. I tell Dr. Greendale that I am losing my health insurance soon and he very rudely tells me «OHWELLYOUBETTERGET A JOBTHATDOESTHEN.» Yeah, I’m sure to find a job that has health insurance in 2009 that would hire a full-time student with no degree! I mistakenly thought he said«Why did you move to Chicago?» and I started telling him the various problems I was having back in my home state. He looks thoroughly annoyed and says to me «NO, I asked you WHEN did you move to Chicago.» You don’t want to listen to people’s problems? Don’t be in the health field then! I was very concerned that he did not even check if I had made lifestyle changes for insomnia before prescribing something. He seemed more concerned that people were taking up his precious time.

It’s reasuring to know that this doctor cares about your mental health so much that he falls asleep every session you have with him. Lovely!
