I have recently gotten unpleasant experience in the Highland Park location of Kelsey & Jo Orthodontics. When I decided to start another orthodontic treatment, I informed them I could not come for any appointment and specified certain days. They did not inform me any restrictions such as no long-appointment on Saturday and the afternoon of weekdays. And they did not confirm with me if it would be ok that there would be morning appointments. Days later, when I tried to make the first appointment, I was not able to make an appointment due those restrictions. If the restriction is that important to their practice, they should have informed me in advance. We talked each other several times over the phone. They did not accommodate my needs even though it was their mistake. They were telling me something only for the behalf of themselves. I don’t think they are responsible for their mistakes. The office staffs(not practioners) is not well-trained for better customer services and professional practice. What they can do the best is to refund me. I had to ask for the full refund, but that was not what I really wanted. If I made that kind of mistakes to the client, I would make another appointment slot at the end of day to make up for the mistake. But they are not willing to do that. I still don’t have any doubt with Dr. Jo’s professional practice. I have been so satisfied with her practice. However, you need to know they don’t have not much flexibility for the appointment if you are full-time worker, don’t have extra help, live afar, and not planning to take your kids out from the school early. And usually Dr. Jo don’t talk to the patient except for consulting session and treatment time. It is very hard to connect to Dr. Jo by phone. Be aware of this, too.

I got ceramic braces here about four months ago from Dr. Kelsey. All of the staff members I’ve met are nice and helpful. The office is clean.

Kelsey and Jo were recommended to be by my dentist. The Doctors: Dr. Heekyung Jo is fantastic. She’s very professional, personable, and thorough when she works. She really does care about the health and progress of your ortho treatment and will walk you through what’s going on which is comforting to me. All the assistants and receptionists I’ve meet are so friendly too. Indred is the assistant that’s always there during my check ups. Really sweet lady and she’s a pro and what she does. The Facility: The entrance to the office is behind the small strip mall. Turn into the strip mall with the jimmy johns on skokie valley blvd. The office is modern looking and clean. There’s an XBOX and TV in the waiting room. The main patient area is an open space with a row of patient chairs. Most ortho appointments are quick 30 min appointments so I think that’s why they designed it like that. This is a small detail, but I like how they have different flavored gloves. I’m sure it’s for the kids, but hey big people like them too. :) The only drawback for me is that their offices are so far away. But for the high level of service they offer, I drive willingly to get my teeth taken care of.
