This review is specifically for the Jammin’ Jungle, located within the West Ridge Center. I’ve been on the hunt for inside spots where my kids can run, climb, etc this winter. Jammin’ Jungle is an indoor playground where little ones can do just that! It’s free(yes, free!) for entry, although it’s not open all the time. I recommend checking the website* before heading over there, but their typical weekly hours are: Mon/Wed: 3−5pm Tues/Thurs: 9−11am, 6 – 7:30pm Sat: 9−11am I personally like it here because it’s a small enough space that I can keep an eye on both my 2 year old and 4 year old. The playground itself is also safe enough for my 2 year old to explore on his own. I feared my 4 year old would get bored there in record time, but she practically had to be dragged out of there after our 2 hours was up. I believe West Ridge Center also hosts many classes for the Park District of Highland Park. We’ve been lucky enough to attend a few bday parties in their spacious party room, but haven’t explored much of the facility outside of the Jammin’ Jungle. *

Growing up in Deerfield, I have such great memories of this place. Their ceramics classes for children are excellent and I would recommend them highly. The playground in the back is also fun and there’s a lot of space in the back for children to play. It is also a stone-throw’s away from two schools, making it perfect for after school activities. Overall, I highly recommend this place for children.

West Ridge is a Community Center that was converted from a school. The former Kindergarten classrooms are now an indoor playground. The Jammin’ Jungle is basically outdoor playground equipment that happens to be indoors. The also have tricycles to ride and a party room. It a great place for children on an in-climate day. It doesn’t cost anything, all they require is a driver’s license and a signature.
