Kambe Original Brides

I made an appointment but the two women working were busy helping another customer. The wedding dresses were outdated with excessive beading. No worker helped me get in or out of the dress or clip the excess fabric. I tried on a few dresses just to be nice and stayed for only 20 minutes.

My Maid of Honor and I went here looking for bridesmaid dresses, since I had already gotten my wedding dress at this point. The sales ladies were very nice and helpful, but unfortunately there was not much of a selection and what they did have was all in the same, smaller sizes that other shops had (average sizes between 4 — 14). My Maid of Honor would take a size 24— we could not find anything in that range for her to try on.
It’s really too bad they didn’t have plus sizes to try on, because they do have some nice, unique styles we hadn’t seen elsewhere… I’m giving them three stars based on their nice selection of bridal jewelry & other accessories (clutches, etc.), and because the one sales lady in particularly was sincerely apologetic for not having the larger sizes (and a better selection) to try on.
Like I mentioned for another shop’s review, I see a niche market in anyone starting up a business that sells formal wear that caters to plus-​sized women. It could be quite the money-​maker on this side of the river for the Metro East region… Just sayin’.

My mom wanted me to look for my wedding dress at Kambe, so I did. They had some nice things but I found the selection to be a bit limited, as were the sizes. A lot of their samples are available only in smaller sizes, so even though I’m average, there were some things I couldn’t even try on. I did end up finding a dress there which I absolutely loved, but unfortunately it was being sold as it was and again – too small. I really loved the dress but the appliqué/​beading – which is the part I loved – was something they could no longer get, so there was no possible way for them to even recreate it for me in my size.
While I didn’t end up getting my dress here, one thing that I liked about this boutique compared to other places that I looked was that they do have a lot of very unique, original designs. So if you’re very particular about having something that no one else has, you might want to check it out.
