When in Munster for a visit to the ol FFF and the carryout section lacks what you’re hoping for — go check out the Liquor Stop. They usually have at least 3 – 4 bombers of FFF and a nice selection of other craft beers worth checking out. If you’re looking for the«good stuff,» make sure to go look in the glass case up by the register.

Harry runs a customer-centric shop and has shown excellent commitment to making sure he has the products his patrons want… as well as some ridiculous specials we didn’t expect! His pricing is outstanding and his store continues to improve in response to a changing area. In addition, he is never understaffed and those excellent people really go out of the way to make you feel welcome and informed about what they have to offer. If you’re used to the complacent establishment liquor stores in NWI, take a step back and open your eyes. This is the place that is fighting to earn your business!

I was impressed with the selection of beer and liquor. The prices are also reasonable, or in my case, far exceeded my expectation. The people who work here were really nice, too.

The Indian couple I see working here(I think they may be the owners) have made the Liquor Stop into a «must stop» for me every time I come through town. On my first trip back to see my folks after being deployed overseas, I asked the man for some help picking out good, local beers for me to take back with me to my home station. Not only did he take time out of his day to make some excellent recommendations, he also went to the back to pick out a few beers he no longer carried on the shelves. Then he amazed me by GIVING them to me and thanking me for my service. To have a stranger simply offer up a thanks is always great, but this man stirred my heart with his kindness and gratitude. This experience may have been the most emotional one I’ve ever had at this establishment, but it is definitely not an anomaly. Every time I have come through town, those two, and all the other employees at this store, have treated me nearly like family, giving me the royal treatment. But it’s not just limited to me; I see them treating everyone with help and advice. I can think of no better place to shop, and I highly recommend being a patron here!

Here is the problem with this place. While their craft beer selection is decent they are quite simply not honest purveyors. For craft beer guys like myself seeking and finding the rare products is a constant pursuit. I knew they had Black Note from Bell’s in stock after hearing from a buddy of mine. I walk up to the counter with a sixer of Third Coast Old Ale and Anger and ask for two bottles of Black Note. Dude says they are sold out and I need to come back on Friday when they will get another case. This is on Tuesday night. My buddy calls them today(Thursday) and they tell him they have some left. Now why on earth would someone lie right to my face about something like this? Doesn’t matter — they are dishonest and therefore don’t get anymore of my business.

There’s not a lot in this area of Indiana, except Three Floyds. However, beer enthusiasts making the trek to/from 3 °F should make a stop at the Liquor Stop. It’s a simple, clean store with a great selection and a fellow beer geek manning the register. It’s always a shock to go to outside one’s own distribution area and check out the selection. This was the case at Liquor Stop. To be able to walk in and cherry-pick choice bombers from breweries like Three Floyds and Boulevard(among others) was an odd feeling for this Floridian. Odd, but a lot of fun. I’d say it was just a little on the pricy side, maybe $ 1-$ 3 per bottle. The only difficult part here was figuring out the extent of what would fit safely in my suitcase for the flight home. I could have really gone to town here, but ultimately, my Midwestern beer dreams had to be culled down to 5 bottles. After all, you just don’t want to pay oversized baggage fees, or have bottles of barrel-aged stouts blast apart in your luggage. Not pleasant at all.

not the biggest wine selection, but if you want beer… this is the place in NW indiana to get it.

A great liquor store for the craft beer drinker… A little pricier than my favorite – Pete’s Liquor Bucket. But Liquor Stop does tend to stock some rarer finds when it comes to craft beers. Their selection of beer is very extensive, and their wine selection is quite good as well. Definitely worth checking out if you’re a beer drinked in Northwest Indiana.

A nice liquor store just past the border of IL. Perhaps the best thing they offer for IL residents is Stone Beers, from San Diego, CA and while this was a major feature 8 years ago other places have increased their selection this place seems to be stuck in neutral. Prices can vary between average to above average. The craft beer selection has increased over the years but is still below most CHI area liquor stores and WI now has Stone beers. Also this store is not open on Sundays, nor is any IN liquor store. Not the stop it once was.

Great liquor store, will be coming here after every time I go to the Three Floyd’s brew pub. This place has about 8 different types of Bell’s in six-packs, all non-refrigerated. As well, they have a plentiful amount of barrel stouts you can’t find in Illinois. Friendly staff to boot!
