The reports are true. This location is indeed closed. Unfortunately, it didn’t last long. I wasn’t too surprised, since I wasn’t sure if the local demographic would really foster such a restaurant. That’s not an insult, mind you. But Highland isn’t exactly the most eclectic locale when it comes to food palates. Kind of sad to see it didn’t get much of a chance, though. Its an Alberto’s now — which should be interesting since Albarro’s is literally right down the street and the two have very similar food offerings. This goes to show all of us Unilocalers… the best way to keep a place open is with our patronage. Without us, small businesses like this wither and die. I’m not blameless in this as I only ate once here. We live… we learn.

Mr Kebab’s resteurants First of all I would like to address Carlos G. I have been eating at Mr Kebab’s restaurants for close to Ten years. I have pretty much had everything on the menu, and not once have I ever gotten sick from their food. You have got be kidding me, I find it really hard to believe you actually got sick from the food. If you got sick from the food why didn’t you speak with the owner about this? Why did you not go and see a doctor for suspected food poisoning? This guy does not know what he’s talking about, maybe you ate something earlier on in the day that got you sick.

Well they finally got some specials and then they closed. Too bad. Looks like it is going to be an Alberto.

Delicious, flavorful, and fresh! A little pricier than I wish, but its definitely worth it once in a while! Definitely coming back!

Tried this place out for the first time today and it was pretty good. I had the Schawarma wrap sandwich and I liked it. The place was clean(including the bathroom) and neat. The workers were also nice and helpful. I’m not sure how consistent their meals are with flavors but for the first time it was good. Not the BEST but something I would eat again if I craved a wrap. Most likely will go back to try other plates and sandwiches.

My coworker and I go here all the time and share the chicken kebab plate. The portions are generous, and the food is always on point. I’m a huge fan of hummus, and theirs is no exception. I don’t know how they cook their rice, but it’s the best I’ve ever had. It’s pretty pricey, but considering it’s enough food to share, you can have lunch for under $ 6!

This place is great! Finally something different in highland! I’ve had just about everything on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. You have to try the garlic spread, its phenomenal!

It’s true, I’ve been obsessed with chicken kebabs and good rice with pitas and hummus lately, so when a friend suggested we try this place, a new Mr. Kebab location in San Bernardino, I was all over that idea. SO glad we did! I got my usual(already noted above) and it was delicious. For $ 8.99 you get that and a drink, too, so the price is right. Loved the hummus, too. The rice was pretty good and I like their pitas, but always wish they would warm them. Overall, I DEFINITELY recommend this location!

Definitely a fan of Mr. Kebab. I’ve been here numerous times and always order the shish tawouk(chicken kabobs). The chicken is always tender and full of flavor, although a little too charred for my liking. The rice and hummus are pretty tasty as well. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, and the interior is very clean, although lacking in décor. My main complaint is that the prices are a little high. Glad they recently came out with a lunch menu which helps. Ahbadee, ahbadee, ahbadee… that’s all folks! Stay hungry my friends…

I don’t know why other reviews shoot this place down so hard. Let me give it you barney style: Service 5⁄5: George one of the main guys that is always there has a great attitude and always looks to please. He’s always gone the extra mile for me and chats with me enough to be personal yet take care of restaurant needs. If it’s not George taking care of you all other employees are pleasant and helpful. Food 5⁄5: Every bad review says the quality of food here is subpar… I beg to differ when taking quality in mind I really think this place stands out. The quality of the food as well as the preparation are great IMO. The only other Mediterranean place I can compare to locally is Phonecia in redlands and I think this place wins overall. The old Phonecia was better than the new one IMO. The two meats I’ve tried chicken and lamb was superb in comparison to other reviews. Nothing was ever dry or tasted process like from a can. The lamb is some of the better lamb I’ve had. I’m big on falafel and hummus, its what I order pretty much 80% of the time. The side salad is fresh and dressing is good. Pita bread not dry or old, the garlic dip sauce(not sure what it’s called) is very tasty. Atmosphere/Environment 5⁄5: Superb, its clean and its brand new. They maintain well and the bathrooms aren’t nasty. Please point me in the direction of some righteous Mediterranean food because I have no qualms with Mr. Kebab.

I have to say that I am a big fan of their Redlands location. But this place unfortunately gave my wife and I a really bad case of food poisoning from eating the chicken Shwarma sandwich. My guess is that the chicken they were shaving off was not at the right temp to keep it free of bacteria. The place is clean because it is new and the people that work their are very nice but if if you give me food poisoning then you get 1 star that is my policy. Also had the grape leaves(good but small portion) and had a falafal sandwich which was very bland.

I was excited to learn there was a Mediterranean restaurant nearby and went to go try it out. Was sorely disappointed by the combo platter. The beef, chicken, and lamb were all dry. The seasoning was great, but it was just not up to par with what I was expecting. I have yet to try the falafels… if those are good… Mr. Kebab might redeem itself. Side note: the waitress was super nice.

I would love to say this is a good spot. I actually feel bad because I didn’t have the guts to tell the manager how sickly their food really is when he asked if it was good. Mr. Kebab management, you need to rework the recipes completely or at least get someone who can cook them. Grilled marinated meat is really the crux of Kebab’s and your meat just doesn’t cut it. It is crucial that your meat not only get more flavor but remove the dish water taste of the current meat. If you need some reference points, not sure if the chef is even Mediterranean or middle eastern, go check out some of the places in LA that get good ratings on this site or a greek festival. The hummus wasn’t great but in my opinion it is hard to make good hummus without fresh chick pea’s and the proper amount of chickpeas in the recipe. The hummus and the tzatziki were extremely water when both are meant to be viscous. Please try to improve the food because we lack this type of cuisine locally and the location is convenient. There are a lot of offices in the near vicinity that would frequent if the food improved. Good luck Mr. Kebab.

Best falafel this side of Brookline! I love it used to drive 32 miles to go to their Resturant in Colten. Middle Eastern food elevated to really good tasty food here at Mr. Kebab

Sorry but I felt like it was canned Arabic food. Beef Kebabs were over cooked, chicken was undercooked, overpriced on the brightside it was clean…

Maybe it’s just me but ugh. Did not like this place at all. The hummus was good. The food ehh. My pallet is obviously just not set up for these type of flavors. The place was super clean and the staff friendly though.

Had the most delicious Chicken Schwarma Sandwich today! Fresh vegetables, moist Chicken. I order 2 Kibbeh and they didn’t disappoint. The meat was flavorful, the bulgar was moist, not try. My wife had the vegetable combo and said their falafels and tobouli rivaled any in the area!
