Great little spot! good food good prices! Don’t accept plastic cash only so be prepared! Hole in the wall kinda place that you love to go back to.

The food is good. I had a mushroom and cheese omelette that included 2 slices of toast and hash browns, with a large orange juice. My husband also had an omelette. We paid 14.55 which I thought was great! Waitress was friendly and ambience was alright. Offcourse it isn’t Ellis but it was good for a quick bite while in town.

For those wondering, yes, this is a sit-​down breakfast/​lunch place like The Commander. It’s in downtown Highland, so I can’t believe I haven’t stumbled upon it earlier, but here we are.
So what’s this place like? The service was very friendly, and the place was pleasant, clean, and well-​lit. The lemon rice soup was quite good (no Commander, but above The Steer) but everything else we had was pretty unremarkable. That’s fine, I mean, when’s the last time you went to The Wheel and went «OMG I got the BEST MEAL YOU GUYSSSSS!» You come here for omelets or soup or BLTs, not to be blown away.
I would say the portions seem to be a bit on the small side, but they make up for it with cheap prices. I got a BLT and a bowl of soup, and my friend got an omelet with hash browns and pancakes. It was $ 12. So… I’m definitely going back. I’m pretty sure they started accepting credit cards, but I can’t say for sure.

I love this place. My dad found this little breakfast/​lunch diner years ago and started bringing us. This is some of the best breakfast in town. Great friendly service, fantastic prices and really good food.
You can’t go wrong with anything on their breakfast menu, and that’s mainly why I go here. Good coffee as well! My favorite lunch item is the Italian Beef on the toasted garlic roll. Delicious!
One item of contention here is that they don’t accept plastic. It’s a cash-​only restaurant. I always have to check first to make sure I have cash on me, so make sure you do the same if you choose to go. And you should go!
