Pescados Highland Burritto’s

Meh.. . The food is fresh, but the «fajita» chicken has no grill taste to it. Husband’s burrito was large– plenty to eat. My quesadilla with fajita chicken was very plain and not a lot of food. What would make me not come back here is the fact that you have to PAY for a basket of chips, but you don’t get a nice thick salsa with it– just very watery «salsas» on the table. NOT good!

No. Flavor. Got a steak burrito… supposed to be garlic flavored steak or something like that, and it didn’t taste like anything. The pico was bland. The rice and beans were bland. Even the salsas on the table were underwhelming! Round corn chips youd get in the giant bag at Sams club. Bleh. The employees were all very nice though.

Fresh, friendly, flavorful, and fast. My only gripe is that guacamole should be a right, not a privilege.

Tried this place on a Saturday. Though busy, we were able to move through counter line without too much wait. My wife and I had quesadillas and my son had soft taco and rice. It’s well run and clean but, lack of tastiness is what I noticed. Chips were too salty for me (but I don’t use much salt on anything). I’d like to give 3.5 stars but…

What a delightful lunch spot! If you crave a burrito, taco or quesadilla, this is where you want to go. I love that they offer a whole wheat tortilla upgrade for only 25 cents more.
The ingredients are very fresh and you get to choose what toppings you want on your order.
The staff is friendly and helpful. There is plenty of seating inside. Plus, it is in a convenient location in Highlands close to The Old Edwards Inn.
There is nothing to fault here and plenty to be happy about. Unlike some restaurants where you wonder how clean they are, Pescados has earned a 100% sanitation rating. For what it is, there is nothing better than this. Oh, and did I mention that the iced tea is excellent?
They’re open 11 — 3 Monday through Saturday, so plan your visit accordingly.

Five stars because my wife said it was the best burrito she ever had. Also the service is very accommodating, the kind you only get from a locally owned eatery. The Highlands food scene is filled with uppity, foo-​foo cafes. Pescados is a nice escape from all that nonsense. They might have chased out fast food franchises but this Chipotle-​esque place slipped under the radar. They even have a few outdoor tables for alfresco burrito eating.

Absolutely one of my favorite lunch spots in Highlands. I moved away nearly a year ago and still crave it. Good, fresh and simple ingredients add up to tasty, REAL food. No processed junk here. For chip munchers: unlike many Mexican restaurants you don’t automatically get a side of free ones, but if you order a burrito you’ll be so full you won’t miss them. (If you do, you can place an order … And if you do, don’t miss the spinach cheese dip!)

Great place with fresh ingredients. Food was delicious.
Nice people. Laid back vibe and a good place to take a break when you’re in the area.
Setup is very similar to a Chipotle — you go down a line and tell them what you want on your burrito, taco, etc.
If you’re looking for a friendly place without attitude, check it out.

As a native Texas girl, I am always skeptical about Mexican food in other parts of the U.S. This place, however, knows how to make some tacos. The garlic steak soft tacos with cilantro, lime, cheese, and lettuce are divine! This place is good for families and kids, but has a small seating area and is good for families, small groups, or couples. This is my fourth time here and I stop by every time that I visit! (PS They are closed on Sundays).

One of our favorite spots!!! Great food, good service, nice people! We’ve had the best experiences!!! The food is so fresh and SO good. We have tried lots on the menu and you really truly can’t go wrong! Our go to (literally every time) spot in Highlands for a casual lunch! We LOVE Pescados!!!

Great food and even better service. You can tell the person behind the counter is the owner. He takes pride in Pescados. One of the cheaper and better restaurants in Highlands. Great for families. I will be back next year.

Pescados excellently executes the Moe’s/Willy’s/Chipotle restaurant concept. This place seems to have everything going for it. It is in beautiful Highlands somewhere near 4000ft in elevation, it offers outstanding staff (seems to have had the same staff now for several years), excellent service, and delicious food at a reasonable price. Pescados offers selections appropriate for vegetarians and carnivores, hearty diners and health minded diners. I almost always get steak nachos and have never been disappointed. The steak resembles pot roast more than steak, but is outstanding on nachos, nevertheless. Service is always prompt and friendly, and the restaurant always appears clean, tidy, and well-​run. We ALWAYS visit Pescados when visiting Highlands.

Been coming here for years, always a favorite spot. Fresh, authentic ingredients. The burritos and pico de gallo are awesome.

This place is kind of like Moes but more authentic and delicious. (Plus its local) We’ve tried the tacos and quesdillas and really, really liked them a lot!!! Our favorite part is when you get queso and they ask if you want it with salsa and put a huge head of pico de gaio in it. SOOOOO good!!!

Good food. A little pricey for what you get, but I guess that is Highlands for you.

Great on the way in, not so great on the way out… but I’d still come back for more! Fresh vegetables and meats and their spicy salsa is really hot.

Great fish tacos. Try the spicy salsa!
