Stopped by for some lunch with my coworkers when visiting Houston. They all had been several times and were ranting and raving about the food. My one coworker called ahead and got the flower pot pie reserved– good thing as they sell out! She loved it and I thought it was pretty good when having a taste of hers. I chose the conductors plate with chicken salad– wish it had come on bread, broccoli cheese soup(A-MAZING), Fritos and a cream cheese muffin that was large enough to share between 4. The other 2 ladies got the porter which they loved as well. I also tried the peach tea which was special for today and thought it was very tasty. Mostly women at this venue with the exception with about 2 – 3 men. It was very quaint inside but in the middle of a remodel so some of the decorations lacked. Apparently they knocked out a wall when walking in– the open space looked nice to me. Next door they also have a nice shop with little items– jewelry, clothes, spoons, salt and pepper shakers, some other random stuff. Cute joint, worth checking out if in the area for lunch. However– please note this is not a typical tea house with high tea or queens tea.

This place is adorable! It’s a quaint little tea room in an old house. I came here with coworkers and they were the only guys in the room — otherwise it was mostly cute little grandmas. They give you free bread on the table but instead of your standard rolls and butter it’s small slices of delicious quickbreads. My favorite was a cherry one — there was also a lemon walnut and a poppyseed that were quite good. Dessert for an appetizer — fine by me! For drinks, be sure to try their various teas — they had a tasty peach tea. I had a half hobo veggie sandwich with a side of fruit. The sandwiches here aren’t huge — I should have gotten the whole sandwich, or done the side soup+salad combo — but it was pretty tasty. Bread was a teeny bit dry but I liked the inclusion of nuts. One person got the pot pie and said it was delicious, but he wasn’t able to finish — the portion was huge! But it’s served so adorably in a mug with a flower stuck in it to serve it. Definitely want to come back and try it! Oh and my «free gift» that came with check in was a small bar of soap from the gift shop next door — how sweet! The prices are fair but maybe a little high for the area. Worth it though!

Love, love, LOVE this cute quaint tea room. It’s a hidden treasure in the Baytown/Highlands area. Their chicken salad is delicious(I get chicken salad everywhere I can and theirs is my favorite) as well as their pimento cheese, chicken pot pies(Oder in advance because they go quickly!), and meatloaf(one of their specials). It is a little pricey but it’s definitely worth it. They also have a cute little gift shop that is fun to look in. If you’re in the area you definitely should try this place out!

I love this place! The food is delicious(I have never tried anything I didn’t like), and the service is excellent! I always feel welcome when I visit! It is quiet enough for people to have a conversation, but they also offer bigger tables for larger groups! It is definitely worth the trip to Highlands! I have been going there for many years and it is very consistent! Yum!

This local spot is a great example of a woman-owned business done right. Items are made from scratch from a talented staff that strive to make down home goodness popular again. It’s worth it to pay a bit more for a artisan meal that supports jobs, is involved in the community and closes a day to celebrate«staff’s graduations in June». The Teapot Depot is a lovely eatery we should all support. Why are other sandwich shops so cheap? Others pay their staff nothing, work them long hours and buy pallets of food that are not local. Enough said.

I give this place two stars ONLY because it is decorated very beautifully. It would be a little girls dream tea party with all the lace and frou frou. That’s it for the compliments. The food is nothing at all special with one exception. Their chicken pot pie served in a potted plant holder is cute and delicious but they onlyake so many per day. If they are out you are out of luck.. The rest of their fare consists of sandwiches, salads, fruit and the like that is outrageously overpriced. When it costs more than fifty dollars for four people to eat very mediocre food something is wrong. My mom likes to go there so she forks over the money while my daughter and I inwardly cringe and suffer through the experience. Apparently the locals dont mind doing this because this place does get crowded. I guess all that business stresses the wait staff out because they are downright rude every time I have been there. Go there once just to say you did then save your money and time and go to Schlotskys!
