Everything on the menu is great but I definitely suggest their empanadas and house hot sauce. There is outdoor seating. Highly recommend!

I got a #37, the fish tacos, and they were INCREDIBLE. Ever since getting back from Puerto Rico, I’ve had a hard time finding comparable tacos as I was spoiled over there. Alas, I have found them! My only complaint is please stop putting tape around the napkins. It makes it quite difficult to wipe my face with, haha.

I came here around 2pm, the place is empty. I had called ahead for pick up. I got the lettuce wrap taco and the crazy empanadas. The taco is super light and satisfying, great choice for hot summer days. The crazy empanadas is really juicy and love the sauce and crunch. But it is little on greasy side. However with the wrap it’s perfect to share with another person.

We’ve ordered from TacoRito several times and have not been disappointed. The food is fresh, flavorful, tasty, and spicy if you like it that way. We got the Chipotle Burrito with Chicken, which is very large and overly stuffed with rice, beans, tomatoes, cheese, lettuce, and chicken. It’s so large that we split it two ways. So, for a little over $ 8 bucks not a bad meal for two. The chipotle sauce is extremely spicy hot. I’ve also had the crazy quesadilla and that’s good as well. TacoRito is a cute little place in downtown Hightstown with bright yellow and orange paint. It always catches my eye when I drive past it on main street in Hightstown. They do have seating, but we’ve always done take out. So, if you’re in the area and looking for good quality, tasty, and inexpensive Mexian food TacoRito is your spot!

Monstrous burritos. The biggest I’ve had. Fresh ingredients. Vegetarian and vegan options. Delicious authentic Mexican food and digs. Local business. What’s not to love? I can’t wait to try more.
Just watch out! Me gusta mucho la comida picante, pero el Tacorito Burrito es demasiado picante para gringos como yo! Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Had the crazy quesadillas and they were fantastic. Filled very generously with fresh ingredients and was very large for $ 9! I will be back for you Tacorito!

So happy to see this place in downtown Hightstown! I will update my review once I try a few more things, but for now I’m one happy camper. I was walking from the bakery in downtown Hightstown and saw this place. I had already eaten, but I love Mexican and decided to have a snack of a taco with all the fixings and chips with guac and pico. Soooo good! The taco shell and chips were fresh out of the oil and authentic. The guac was fresh and delish. The taco was messy with crème fresh dripping down my fingers mixed with salsa and taco sauce. I will be back!

Massive amount of food and price is extremely good. I’m guessing the guy upfront is the owner. He recommended the crazy quesadillas. It was crazy awesome.

Best fish tacos — EVER. I also ordered the burrito bowl to go — on absolute faith and with confidence that it will be as good as the tacos. My daughter ordered the Jr. Chicken burrito and she said«it’s amazing» —and she’s 9 years old. And a picky eater. Bonus that they have a friendly staff, local Patrons were eating there so that says something, and the music playing in the background made me feel like it’s the kind of place where construction guys and foreign tourists alike are welcome. Food is made from scratch and still our order was prepared quickly. Real authentic food done well. Will definitely come back.

Came across this place on Unilocal as I was in an unfamiliar town. Unilocal to try rescue again! Good was delicious! There was such big flavor in all of their ingredients. It was chipotle-esque in that you tell them what you want from their toppings station. I had a burrito and my friend got the crazy quesadillas. Tried the tortilla soup as they had a check in offer. It was quite tasty and a great portion size. Not in this area often but would definitely return(especially for that soup!) They had interesting options that I hadn’t seen before which I very much appreciated as most Mexican restaurants have the same standard fare. I also liked the cacti along the windows with their names on the pots. Nice touch!

Close to a year after my first review… and the place continues to rock! — food is great! — ingredients are fresh! — portions are great! — pricing is very affordable! — give yourself time when calling ahead, as it is often«everyone at once!» which can becoming challenging with a place its’ size — order up some desserts! If you haven’t tried it, please do!

Another great experience. The owner, Sam, actually remembered me from last time. He hooked me up with an order of Nutella banana empanada and crazy empanada to try. Love the crazy because I’m more of a spicy guy than a sweet guy lol ;)

Discovered this place through reviews. They are all on point. Coming back from six flags headed to the city, this taco spot was where magic happened. If your looking for something on the healthier side, I had tacos wrapped in cabbage! All the fat boy stuff too; it was all good. Really sweet staff as well. Not far off the nj turnpike. We will definitely be back for an after six flags meal because what six flags had to offer was all crap. Hold your huger and head to taco rito instead

I recently came to TacoRito with a few friends for dinner. The restaurant serves Tex-Mex food at a super affordable cost. The menu contains probably about 100 items. It’s a bit overwhelming. Some names of the foods are«crazy nachos». There’s nothing wrong with that name, but then there is no description stating what makes the said nachos«crazy». If you dine in there are a few tables and chairs available. The food is served on styrofoam plates and containers and plasticware is available. This is obviously a casual place. The food. overall pretty good. I ordered Mexican Jambalaya(it sounded so odd that I had to have it) and it was served with tortillas and a side of rice and beans. My friends and I split 3 different empanadas and an order of maduros. Everyone was really satisfied with their food. Some dishes were served in styrofoam to go containers and we were a little confused as to why. Now we understand. The portions are so big that they know you will not finish. Delivery is mostly available. If it’s not too busy they will have one of the workers run the food to you.

I’ve already written a review for TacoRito, but after my second visit, I’m completely sold on this place. My boyfriend and I came here for Cinco de Mayo. Once we entered, we were pleasantly surprised to see they were offering FREETACOS! Yes! Unfortunately, that made the restaurant busier than it already was what with Cinco de Mayo party orders coming in. Next year, try doing a free taco«happy hour» between 1pm-3pm or something so it’s less crazy for you guys. Despite the craze, they still served us extremely well. I got the same steak taco combo as I did last time. It was consistent and as delicious as the first time I had it. Ceviche on the side, served with crackers. I recommend eating it with their tortilla chips.(Add that chile habanero sauce to the ceviche if you enjoy spicy food like I do! Trust me.) My boyfriend got the Baja Fish Tacos, tortilla chips with guac & pico on the side. I had ONE bite and I have to agree with him: BEST fish tacos I’ve ever tasted. Ever. Crunchy crust on the fish, flavorful, sweet pineapples on the bottom that are a brilliant addition! We checked in for the free soup: Chicken Tortilla. Even THAT was amazing, and I wasn’t expecting much. The broth is rich, almost buttery. Tortilla bits and shredded chicken add a great texture. Tortilla chips themselves are the thick authentic chips you’d find at California taco spots. They came out fresh and warm too! The manager, Sam, gave us extra pico & guac with the chips because we waited awhile for my boyfriend’s order to come out. Thanks dude! Even the guacamole is damn perfect! When I first placed my order, the first girl who rang me up misunderstood my order and didn’t punch it in as a combo(entrée/appetizer/drink). I explained this to the next girl who took over. Was about to change my order but ended up keeping the original one because ceviche isn’t one of the options for the mix & match combo appetizers. She asked if I wanted to add a drink, I said yes and she said,“You know what, how about I just give you a drink on me?” That was incredibly nice of you! Thanks for your hospitality & wonderful service again, despite how crazy busy it was in there! I will come back and try every single thing on their menu! I couldn’t stress how amazed I was at the quality of everything we ordered, down to the guacamole, down to the chips, down to the soup. Fresh ingredients overall, I couldn’t believe how good every single item was, and also how generous the portions are! All we needed to complete our Cinco de Mayo celebration was a Corona and/or a shot of tequila. The combos are $ 13 including an entrée, appetizer, and drink. The entrees are loaded and so are the appetizers! It’s beyond worth the price. Chipotle who? I used to think getting a burrito bowl for $ 7 was a deal. Just go to TacoRito!

Craving Mexican food? Well I was, which led me to this beauty. Its a cute little colorful spot, with a few tables to dine in. As soon as we entered we were greeted with a friendly smile and were told some of the new items on the menu. When you check in, you will receive a free chicken tortilla soup that was to die for! Soup was nice and spicy, filled with shredded chicken, celery, onions, tortilla chips and topped off with cilantro. I placed my order for chicken empandas, 3 came in an order for $ 6. The shredded chicken was absolutely juicy although I would have liked the empanadas itself to be more crispy. It was also garnished with lettuce, tomato and sour cream. The crazy nachos with shredded beef for $ 8.50 was AMAZING! It consisted of homemade fried chips, tender shredded beef, black beans, cheese, corn, black olives, sour cream, tomatoes, jalapeños, and guacamole. This thing was huge and delicious! Fresh ingredients, nice portions and great presentation. Everything is made fresh to order so be patient, they even have with a mini counter full of green and red hot sauces from low to intense heat for your meals. This place is a hole in the wall that is absolutely delicious and deserves a visit, this place has nothing on Chipotle.

It’s rare that I write a review after only going to a business once, but I gotta give credit when it’s due! This is a new restaurant dead smack in the middle of the main strip in Hightstown. There’s been plenty of Mexican restaurants in Hightstown over the years, but none have ever had food quality or ambience and décor that even come close to TacoRito. Speaking of the inside, this is just a feel good place. The beautiful bright colors and good pop music are the first signs that your in for a good time… The manager, Sam is an awesome guy. Very ambitious, humble, down to earth, and extremely friendly. He goes above and beyond to make sure your dining experience is nothing short of great. In my opinion, he sets a prime example of how a business should be ran. Most importantly, he doesn’t just serve food, he works hard to build good relationships with his customers. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, he definitely wants to hear it! As with great management, comes great staff… The business is family owned, so you don’t have to worry about some young teenager carelessly slabbing your food together. As for the food, they have a huge menu. They also have a few special items that they’re trying to see if they want to add to the main menu. So if you happen to try one of those specials and you like it, then don’t hesitate to tell them what you think! The menu is split, half of the dishes are traditional and the other half are Tex-Mex. Everything is made to order, so expect a little bit of a wait. Best of all, you can totally customize everything. They use the freshest ingredients and you can really taste it in every dish. As for my dining experience, I had a Fat-Rito(deep fried burrito covered with melted cheese). It was by far, the largest burrito that I ever had! It definitely weighed a pound, maybe even more. There’s no word that can explain how good it was, so I’ll just put it this way… The last time I was that happy and satisfied, was when I hooked up with the hottest girl in school. Lol. =) I also sampled a soft taco. Nothing crazy, just seasoned meat, lettuce, onion, cilantro, and lime. I usually like to add sour cream, hot sauce/salsa, and all that other stuff to my tacos, but in this case, the meat was seasoned so good that I didn’t even think to add any of those other things. And lastly, I got a baked fish dinner to go, to drop off at my mom’s house. Two huge pieces of great quality fish, that was also seasoned very well. It also came with rice, beans, and pita bread. I stole a bite from her and it was also very delicious. Everything that I tried was great and I literally wanna try everything on the menu, especially the beef tongue and breakfast dishes. All in all, this was a great dining experience and I’m so happy that the Hightstown area finally got a restaurant like this. When it comes to Mexican food, this place is definitely the best bang for the buck! Huge portions at a great price with awesome service. So give your palate a treat and check this place out asap! Btw, If you’re a local that’s a regular at one of the other places, you’re missing out big time. So do yourself a favor and make the change! ;-)
