Had a great experience here. Josh the owner took me as one of regulars, but it was my first time in the comic shop. Josh is very knowledgeable about comics and was very personable. Awesome Shop, great vibs and friendly staff and the best part Comics. I will most definitely recommend this shop to my friends. My new Local Comic Shop.

The Lazarus Pit is a great comic store with a friendly, knowledgable, and helpful owner. The selection of comics is robust and the owner is always willing to take the time to chat about the latest and upcoming titles. This is, to my knowledge, the only comic shop in Deerfield, Highland Park, and Highwood and it is a fantastic addition to the area!

The owners are fantastic, they know comics well and when taking to Josh, he is a cornucopia of knowledge across the Marvel, DC, Image, IDW and other independent publisher universes.
They provide a personal touch to the experience, and each week I go in to pick up my weekly pull, I end up staying to talk with Nicole or Josh and have learned to not go with my wife due to how long I stay.
They offer a subscription service for comics with discount as expected; they also bag and board each issue for a lot less than any other store around.
One of the great things they do is that they offer their store up as a location for many a game events. You will constantly see magic the gathering games and tournaments being played, as well as dungeons and dragons nights.
They did not just open a store in Highwood, they fully integrated themselves into Highwood and made themselves a staple in the area. I left my old comic book store after over 10 years to have a more local store, and not only am I very happy with my choice due whole experience that is the Lazarus Pit, but I have also made some new friends at the same time!

Really enthusiastic staff, good selection and a nice system for getting us the things we want. What a great addition to Highwood.
