Bill and Bernie are great to work with. From the moment I walked into their shop they were very welcoming and made the entire process very easy. They helped me with a high-end watch I wished to sell and gave me a very fair and reasonable price. I enjoyed the experience from start to finish. They were personable and welcoming — I recommend them highly.

I needed to replace the batteries in two of my watches. The two Gentlemen at this business were extremely helpful. I dropped off the watches, made a quick stop at Walgreens down the street and they were ready for me when I returned in a couple minutes. The service was quick and the price could not beat. Very nice people to deal with.

This place might be a fun antique store to shop at but whatever you do, DONOT bring your jewelry to get repaired here. EVER!! Unless it means nothing to you and you don’t want to wear it for 3 months. They will tell you that they can repair when you ask them but that won’t be true. I first came by to show them my diamond pave wedding band to see if they could replace the stone that fell out and they agreed to do so. Couple of weeks later I got a call that my ring was ready and went to pick it up. It looked nice and price was reasonable. I put it on, paid and left. Less than 2 hours later I noticed that the stone had fallen out again. The same one. I went back the next day and they took it back to fix it again. No apologies. Nothing. Whatever. Another week or so went by and I was called back to pick it up again. Went. Wore it. Stone fell out the same day. Went back. Got a sorry this time. And«we’ll fix it at no charge». Really? Thanks! Picked it up again. Same story. Went back the third time. Not joking. Took all the patience I have to return it with a smile. Sure. Please fix it. Maybe try wearing it around the shop for a while before calling me to see if the stone stays in this time. They promised it’ll be ready sooner cuz last time they got an extra stone. Well, that took place before Christmas. I didn’t hear from them for few weeks so I went back on January 20th to follow up. Nothing was done. They barely remembered who I was and why I was there. Had to recap the whole story. «Ohhh…yeah ok… white gold ring, right?» Are you joking?!! They promised it’ll be ready a week later. Well, today is 1⁄27 and I just got a vm from them telling me to come pick it up and that this is the last time they are fixing it for free. WTF!!! I haven’t had my wedding ring since early November. I know I should have demanded my money back the second time the stone fell out. Stupid me. This place is ridiculous! I would have been better off going to a mall jewelry store to get my ring fixed there but I wanted to support local small business. Will never go back for anything.

My wife and I live in Highland Park, IL., William H. LTD, is located in Highwood obviously. We’ve been dealing with Bill for many years and have always found Bill looking out for our best interest. Bill and Bernie(store manager I believe) two of the most genuine and savvy guys in business, pawn shop/collectible vintage pieces aside. The store is not only an outstanding place to transact silver & gold, but has a stunning selection of vintage odds and ends. They have some interesting jewelry, not much vintage, but great pricing and fantastic attitudes. You’ll feel like family… we do. Next time you have a silver or gold piece to sell(or a piece you’re not certain about), coins, or simply something usual and interesting, stop in and speak with Bill. I promise you’ll make his store a habit Ron & Belle Kolman.
