This Kohl’s is a complete dump compared to the stores located in Dublin and Grove City, I was rooked out of $ 20.00 Kohl’s cash because of how poorly this store is organized. They expect you to get in line with the returns to pick up a order. They had at least an hour line out into the center of the store. It really wasn’t worth all that hassle to pick up a single pair of jeans. I know better than to try to use store pickup at this store since there is no dedicated line for orders and they expect you to wait all day. The experience at this store has totally changed my perception of customer service at Kohl’s. I called the 800 number and the corporate office and just got attitude and a big runaround and 3 different people telling me there was nothing they could do to assist me. All I wanted to do was have the order cancelled so I could replace the order online in time to get the sale price and use my Kohl’s cash before it expired, I didn’t think that was too much to ask.

The first thing that anyone who cares about saving money should know about all Kohl’s locations, is that the regular prices are way higher than you can find elsewhere. It’s true! Just take a walk around the store, find items that you can find elsewhere, and look at the«compare at»(i.e. «original») price. They overinflate this price to make it look like you’re getting a great deal, and a lot of people will just stop there. If you stop there, in most cases you are spending more than you need to. The best way to deal with this price inflation is to learn the sales cycles of the store, work with all the coupons and loyalty systems Kohl’s offers, and always — always — compare the price you’re paying with the price you’d pay somewhere else. I use Amazon as a decent benchmark. If it says«Now! Low price! $ 50!» And I can find that same item on Amazon for $ 30? It’s probably not a good deal. But if you bring in a $ 20 off $ 50 coupon, and you have some Kohl’s Cash, you might be able to get a better deal. With Kohl’s, you also have to have patience. If you need it right now, and you care about saving money, and you don’t want to play the coupon/loyalty/sales game, it’s probably better to shop elsewhere. So let’s talk about this specific location, centrally located in the heart of the Rome Hilliard Road shopping area. It’s convenient, and it has a nice selection. If you live nearby, and like Kohl’s this is obviously the place to go. The staff here are nice, and most of the cashiers are super friendly, yet move the lines along quickly. I know it’s hard sometimes to find a balance. You have a long line of people, and you want to give personal service to each, because that’s how brick and mortar companies stay in business. But you also don’t want to upset the people in line with a slow check-out. I actually shopped here on Black Friday, and even though the lines were super long(front-end and customer service), they moved quickly. People were complaining«wow, this line is so long!» and then we’d inch up a few feet. They had four or five people manning the registers, all hands on deck, and they clearly weren’t dawdling. So yeah, Kohl’s does a decent job of crowd control, while still keeping it as friendly as possible. As far as stocking levels, they do a great job of keeping things on the shelf. And pricing seems to be fairly well automated. For years, they’ve had these little Wi-Fi price tags out on the shelf, so when a price changes, it probably pushes out to all the stores at once, without having to send someone out to change the tags. I mean, if you leave the sale tags on an item after the sale ends, you still have to honor that price by law. That would get expensive. So digital prices makes a lot of sense. Speaking of digital, this place does have at least one, possibly two, price lookup kiosks, which I think you can also use to check balances on gift cards and the like. Sometimes items aren’t right in front of a price tag, and it’s nice to be able to check the price on the spot. I think all stores should have electronic price check stations. Kohl’s offers a lot of products in general, and this location is no different. I enjoy bulk buying higher-quality bath towels here, when they go on-sale, with coupons and other discounts. They also have a kitchen area that sells small appliances like coffee makers, in addition to kitchen tools. Kohl’s is known for clothing, obviously, so you’re always going to see that heavily represented. They also have fragrances, makeup and a jewelry counter. I don’t shop any of those things, but they’re there. The things I enjoy the most in Kohl’s are the toys, which most stores have had for awhile, and the tech toys near the back. If you’re waiting for someone at customer service, or they’re using the bathroom, it’s fun to shop the cards and tech toys. I mention the bathrooms because they are expansive — not cramped at all — and noticeably clean most of the time. Some places, you would rather hold it? Not here… this Kohl’s is a safe haven. So although Kohl’s isn’t my favorite store, I do like this location. I feel I have to mention again: learn how Kohl’s pricing works, get signed up for the loyalty programs and coupons, and work the sales! It’s not hard to do a quick apples-to-apples search on Amazon or another retailer to figure out if the sale price is actually a good deal or not.

I love Kohl’s and have been shopping there for years but I will start with a warning! Their prices are inflated. ONLY buy when there is a sale and try to have a coupon to use on top of that. That being said, I can usually find some great deals. I made a couple of purchases yesterday that — after sales and coupons — came in under the prices for places online like Amazon! Score! They typically have a great selection of clothes for my family and I can usually find the sizes that I need. Getting things like towels for the bathroom or t-shirts for my son are always a great deal. You do have to watch out for things like socks and underwear, decorative bathroom items like shower curtains, and electronics since they are usually cheaper elsewhere due to their markups but, like I said, if you are able to combine coupons with sale prices, you are usually okay. The staff here has been helpful finding things in the back when I need something I can’t find on the floor. The store can be a bit overwhelming due to the sheer volume of product and it seems like the shoe section is always a mess but this is one of my first places to stop. With Christmas coming, I wanted to share a handy tip! Those 15−30% off coupons that you get? They are good on everything INCLUDING Hallmark ornaments which are NEVER on sale anywhere else until after Christmas. They don’t have as many ornaments on display as a Hallmark store but they usually have the most popular ones for the season and this is a great way to pick them up at a reasonable price.

This location is always clean and organized. The staff are always smiling and helpful. Returns are so easy. Prices and coupons can’t be beat for same items at other retailers.

I love Kohls… love, love, love! I’ve never had a bad experience in any Kohls, but this is the one I go to most often. I recently have been to the customer service desk a lot, and I think that’s what makes me think particularly highly of Kohls. Any store can have good merchandise on sale, but customer service is often a differentiator. Between me forgetting my coupon and having them retroactively apply a discount later, making returns, exchanges, they’ve taken care of everything smoothly and quickly. If you tell them you’ve forgotten your coupon they’ll actually just apply it anyway(my problem is remembering there even was a coupon =)). Aside from that, Kohl’s pretty much always has what I’m looking for and I’ve never been in when they weren’t having a sale.(Yeah… I guess you could call that a gimmick, but it works =)). I don’t typically sign up for store emails but theirs are actually worth it in savings.
