Always class act people, service and food! And of course their beer selection is impeccable!

This place has the best Caesar salad I’ve ever had. I’m upset that they don’t have more ales on tap, but they’re selection of refrigerated bottled beers makes up for it. Bottom line: order the Caesar.

Wasn’t sure what to expect, but the food was really good; service was also good considering how busy this place was, and gets. Just chill, and leave your expectations at the door folks, because expectations lead to disappointment… This is a fun place to hang with friends, and try the rotating beer selections. So many taps and simply so little time… I haven’t even covered the cased selections, which were off-the-hook too many to fit in a picture — as another Unilocaler pointed out. We were a small group of 5 and we tried several beers, and multiple food items from the menu; VERY pleased with all. Green chili poutine was tasty; the 50 – 50, ABV Pastrami burger and Elk burger while messy, were ALL divine. Push up your sleeves and stay a while… it’s gonna be worth it! Would I recommend this place, abso-freaking-lutely…will I go back, in a NY minute — I still need to try their pizzas! :P

ABV is a great spot to grab some wonderful beer/cider & their food is pretty good, especially being out in Hillsboro because your options are very limited. Plan on waiting a good 45 minute for a table & being over charged for your food.

Love this place great food and beer. A must go. Staff is super friendly but at times can be super busy but have a beer while you wait for your table. Pizza is amazing, burgers are awesome and you have to try the ribs… They have a sweet chili sauce on them that is amazing. Beer beer beer, along with the amazing food they have 30 – 40 beers on tap. While at times there is a good wait it’s totally worth it.

For a place that has an amazing selection of beer, the food is pretty darn good as well. I love the burger here because it’s tasty. Whether it’s the elk or beef burger, you cannot go wrong. The only downside to this place is that sometimes the wait can be quite a while for a table. I have always had a great experience with the staff here and will continue to go back.

ABV is a much needed pub on the west-side. They have a variety of beer and an online tap-list so you can pick your beer on your phone at your table. They also have an extensive bottle selection to enjoy with your meal. The food is hearty — wings, burgers, pizza, pretzels and soups. The Elk burger is a standout, along with the cheese pizza. The Korean wings are hot and sweet, and totally solid. The atmosphere is bustling, loud, and fun. This place gets BUSY during happy-hour through dinner on the weekdays. Be prepared to wait anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour to get a table depending on your party size. It can also be a bit of a sausage fest with all of the tech bros from Intel and the business park areas. The service is generally good, although a few times it has been lack-luster. Not a real problem however. Having eaten here many times I can say that there are some problems that stand out. The kitchen puts out questionable food occasionally — it seems like they will send food out that they screwed up and should dump and re-do. This has happened a couple of times, so not a fluke. For example, once got a pizza that had one slice squished into the others. Tasted fine and I didn’t send it back, but it honestly shouldn’t have made it to the table. Some of the tables are behind the coolers — while this is probably fine for a big group, or a group with small kids, it feels like you are kind of excluded from the rest of the dining area, and feels weird. I think they need to move the coolers and open up all of the tables to the main room. Some of the tables are always dirty — they have grooves in them that collect food and simply cannot be cleaned properly. These tables need to be removed from the place. Personally I like to sit at the bar if possible — the service tends to be better, you don’t have to wait for a table, or deal with getting one of the dirty tables or tables in the back.

You need some ABV Green Chile Poutine in your life. They’ve got it all a huge beer selection, kickass food, a great wait staff and a brew store next door. What else could you want in life?

This pub is my favorite one outside of Portland. Maybe even including those in Portland because ABV is more laid back. I’ll start with the food. Their burgers are fantastic, exactly what you would expect from a nice pub, and the pizzas are also great. I first got the classic burger and then the Greek pizza, and they both lived up to and then surpassed my expectations. The next time I went with a group and we got appetizers, the ribs were tender, the wings were delicious, and the green chile pulled pork poutine is like heaven on earth. This poutine is the best I have ever had outside of Canada and it is truly fantastic, try this if you go there for sure. Next the drinks. They have a huge and always changing tap list so if you are a beer/wine/cider person, they have something for you no matter when you go. I’ve had quite a few different beers now, and they’ve all been perfect for me. The service is just as good as the food and the drinks, the food comes out fast and the bartenders are attentive.

Out in a commercial business park lays this beer heaven and food wonder. Some friends in PDX who know this place took me here Saturday 12⁄5. Awesome beer on tap and add two walls of cold 22ozs from everywhere in the world to pick from and you will call this heaven too. I had an excellent Reuben, my friends got a salad and a pulled pork and we tasted multiple beers from local breweries. No complaints on food except maybe the salad could be a little smaller… a togo box assures tommorrow’s lunch is ready though. If you are out or PDX proper and want to go somewhere without driving or training it into town, ABV is where I would go. I’ll be back! Added bonus-next door is a home brewers store which is nirvana for beer addicts. Like the QR code for the days current beers on tap, like the open tables and open space.

They have a wide selection of beer that changes! That in itself should attract you this place. Their food is also good. Some of my favorites are: korean ribs, fries(with rosemary aioli), chicken wings, elk burger, abv burger, and calamari.

Decent joint! Attempting to to fill a much needed niche. Place just still feels a little«off», like it needs time to come together. Makes an attempt at the warehousey utilitarian charm thing so popular in town, but it just doesn’t seem work here, somehow. The end result is more«garage converted to beer and sports man cave» than«artisan brew house”– fine and good, just not what we were looking for. The menu was a little half-baked too. An undeveloped concept, but could grow into something really good. Service was friendly and earnest but surprisingly clueless about beer(??) considering the excellent selections on tap & the brew supply shop next door and could not make a recommendation. Parking is weird & kind of a hassle. Prices are inflated for what you get… Really wanted this place to be our new Hillsboro hang out! But it’s just not quite there yet. Ah well. Will check back in the future I suppose.

There’s no doubt this place boasts a great selection of beer. Not only can you pull up the current tap selection on your phone, but if you don’t find something enticing there are hundreds more to choose from in the coolers that line the restaurant. This place makes great food too! The burgers are on point, the pizza is delicious, and the salads are huge and fresh. The servers are friendly, and provide great service. I love it here… for the most part. There are two things I’ve had problems with in my few visits to ABV: 1) The soup. I’ve ordered it twice, and have sent it back twice for being too cold. This seems to be a perpetual issue. As I waited last night for a table I saw a server bring back soup to the window from a customer claiming it was too cold. This seems like a simple fix, so please ABV do it! By health standards, the temperature of the soup should be checked regularly! 2) Space. Space is a huge issue! This place is just too busy all the time. We were told a 35 minute wait last night, with a 70% chance of being seated prior. We waited 65 minutes! They’ve been like this since they opened, which is great for them– bad for customers! I’ve heard they own the homebrew store next door, and wonder why they don’t just knock out the wall to extend the restaurant. The problem with this place is there are limited tables, and they are huge; sometimes only 2 people are sat at a 6 person table! It’s a huge waste of space. On top of that, there’s no distinction between bar and restaurant. Extending the space, and making an actual separation would really speed service along, decrease wait times, and make customers like myself more apt to come here more often. The main issue is that you have the drinking crowd that wants to come after a long day, sit, drink awesome beer, and BS for hours… uh who doesn’t love doing this?! Unfortunately, they have no choice but to do this in the restaurant part where others are waiting to have a meal. This increases the wait time to an unforgivable amount. I see too many people turn around and walk out when they hear the wait time. You’re literally having money walk right out the door ABV!!! I see it every single time I come here. So I say it’s been long enough ABV, we love you and we want you to stay. So please make us happy and increase the space so that we can drink for however long we want, or not have to wait over an hour just to get in for dinner!

I have been to ABV a number of times now with various groups of family, friends, unruly kids, cranky old people, and even a bad date. A really bad date. Baaaad. Ahem. I will spare you the stories. Actually, if you bring me here for libations I might share them. But only if you pay. Anyway, I have never been unhappy at ABV. In fact, I like it here. Lots. (Other people in my party have at times been less enthralled than I, but I frankly thought their reasons were unreasonable.) I was recently snuck in here for an hour or so on Halloween while my child was safely trick or treating with other people.(13 has its perks). Halloween was a slow night at ABV so the food was fast and perfect. Yes! I didnt drink but they had a whole lotta stouts on tap and I had several sips of my friend’s stout. Delish! No, not THAT many sips, silly. I had to go pick up aforementioned kid after dinner. Thoughts: –It’s hard to find. Use your smart phone’s map app. Look for the sandwich board on the sidewalk that says ABV out front. It can be challenging to spot. –Parking is fine. –Sometimes it’s busy and the service is a touch uneven. What to do? Complain? Pout? Shake your fist in the air? *DUH* ORDER A DRINK. I mean really. This isn’t a hurry up place. It’s a casual beer drinking place. Relax. — Their menu is quite varied, simple, interesting, and cheffy enough for everyone to find something appealing. The food is tasty. Specials show up and the menu appears to have some seasonal elements. It can be fancy schmancy super foodie fare and sport simple kid friendly food too. My vegetarian older brother who loves his fancy beer has found plenty to eat here and not just gardenburgers either. I personally endorse the beer cheese soup with lots of bread which I enjoy paired with a stout or a frosty pear cider. The soup is creamy and thick, almost fondue-like, reasonably priced, warm and filling, and you will still have room to share a beeramisu. –Beeramisu is delicious. O.M.G. — If you MUST be healthy, well ok get a damn salad. My veggie bro got a wedge(hold the bacon) and it was a thing of beauty. Or nosh on some grilled asparagus or some savory roasted brussel sprouts. Whatever floats your boat. Seriously. It’s all delicious at ABV these days. — They have fun raffles. On Halloween people won growlers, t shirts, gift cards, etc. Not me or my friend, but we were robbed(j/k). It was still fun. — The beer fridge and 31+ taps are amazing. They will let you sample stuff on tap or you can get a flight if you can’t decide. And you will likely find something in the fridge to take home for later. It’s a secret sweet spot in kind of an obscure and surprising area. I like that it’s kinda like the TARDIS. Bigger on the inside. Go. Just do it.

Incredible food. ABV is my go to place if I have friends or family visiting me from out of town. It’s a great, friendly atmosphere. The staff is always super nice and helpful. My only complaint would be that it’s very poorly marked from the outside and finding it at night might be almost impossible for someone who maybe is trying to find them with google maps or other GPS navigation due to how poorly marked it is.

2 work lunches here in the past 2 weeks: Excellent tap selection, rotates frequently. Smiling, friendly service, but the place gets packed so be able to take a 2 hour lunch esp if its Friday . We ordered Avocado fries for the table and I had the Chivito Sandwich. This Uruguayan special did not disappoint. Steak cooked to perfection on a roll with sliced hard boiled egg, peppers, and spices/sauce. A master crafted sandwich. The Avocado fries were delectable. Cooked to perfection, not mushy or oily. The week prior I had the Chicken n Waffle Cone special. A tasty breaded chicken confit with a drizzle of maple syrup and fennel sausage gravy and crumbled waffle cone on a bed of parsnip purée. Heaven on Earth.

Took one hour for a burger!!! Food was warm not hot! Service is too slow!!! Flavor is good, but not worth the trade off of spending over one hour waiting.
