My star rating is because of one woman… I don’t remember her name(Kristie I think)…and their customer service. I went in several weeks ago and go my eye brows waxed and the woman did a good job. When it was time to do them again and I also needed a hair cut, I decided to try them out. They fit me in that day and the girl worked with me on a style(I brought in a bunch of pictures to show her since I was cutting a lot off). The haircut is pretty good although she did this layering thing in the back that just doesn’t work with someone with naturally curly hair(I decided that I wouldn’t mention this or request that she change it given everything else). We talked quite a bit and she offered advice on how to do my hair and what product to use. She recommended a product that she said would help the fly-away hairs and was really inexpensive. When we finished I was heading into get my eyebrows done and she showed me the shampoo and conditioner as well. She told me earlier that these products would clean my hair much better than what I was currently using and therefore it would be easier to style my hair. She also told me they were very affordable…$ 20plus for the shampoo and the same for the conditioner. I have never in my life paid over $ 40 for shampoo and conditioner but I thought I would at least try it… If it worked well then it was worth it. Well the products not only didn’t help style my hair, they dried my hair out and made it more frizzy! Also, the product that she sold me for the fly-away hairs wasn’t the same stuff she used on me and wasn’t that great… certainly not worth the $ 15 I was charged. So after trying them for 3 days I tried to return them. I was told that they could not return any used products because the company wouldn’t take them back. I was shocked since I have not had this problem before(I think this has happened to me once or twice at my old salon). Usually the stylist will show me alternatives and then I can decide to get that or get a refund. I checked the website for the product and they have a satisfaction guarantee with an address so you can return the product. I also called several area salons that carry the product and they all would allow a return if I have a receipt. I decided to call Alegra Salon back and let them know this and the woman was argumentative and stated again that she could not return the product. I asked if there was anything she could do since I paid more for the products than the service and she said no, refused to explain and then said she couldn’t help me and hung up. They have lost me as a customer because of poor customer service.
