Being from out of town, my hubby and I use Unilocal for suggestions and the reviews did not disappoint. Great and friendly staff that will talk with you and get to know you. Matt and Adam were so nice and it was a pleasure to meet them!!! Food was awesome as well! We had the bacon cheese burger, blt salad and the truffle fries. Great food, great staff, and atmosphere! We’ll definitely be back if we’re in town!!!

I’ve came here with friends on a weekend to the bistro part, and I’ve also came during several occasions to the Pub part(In the back, down the long skinny hallway). To be honest, I do like it more on an off-peak time, like on a Wednesday at 10 pm or so, and we have the whole place to ourselves! I’m pretty spoiled by that idea. Recently, I went on a Friday night and it was packed, and they were swamped, and they had a slight dishwasher-plumbing-emergency; but they still handled it beautifully. The wait was not that long, and they improvised and gave us our food on «to go» containers, since they weren’t able to clean their regular dishes. But, the staff was amazing! Very warm and professional. I think their food is really good here, and their bar tenders make good cocktails. That would be my Only complaint, is that their actual beer list could do a little more pizazz. And, to be updated a bit! The main reason why I’m giving this place 5 stars is because it does do everything right, and in addition, it has some things that makes it a little more unique. Like the fireplace, in the center of the room, it is very comforting and adds a little personality to the place. In addition, this place has a booth dedicated to a NINTENDO64, where they have different games like MarioKart and GoldenEye(Bond) and stuff, and it’s fun to kick back with some friends, and have a beer and reminisce.

Stopped in for lunch today. I’ve never been, but I’ve heard great things about the PBJ sandwich. Three words a-maz-ing. The bacon and cheese sounds weird, but holy cow it works! Before I even took a bite I could smell the applewood smoke from the bacon. Most places that put bacon in things, it’s more of a garnish, just an afterthought to say it has bacon in the meal. This bacon was no afterthought, it was deliberate and unapologetic. The peanut butter and jelly were smooth and perfectly complemented each other. The bread was thickly sliced and masterfully toasted. I got the sweet potato chips as a side, they were just as amazing as the sandwich. Did I mention the bacon? A perfect balance of smoke, sweet and salt. I think I have a new addiction.

What is the correct number of stars for«competent execution in every way but ultimately unremarkable»? Three or four? A nice selection of beers, pleasant ambiance, tasty burgers, friendly waiters, unobtrusive music. If I lived close I would probably hang out here regularly because the staff is so darn friendly and the mood is very mellow. The burgers are good, but not amazing, so I don’t know how the other reviewers are coming up with 5 stars. At $ 10 I want more than garden-variety cheeseburgers.

We went during an evening on a weekday and I must say the entrance is a little strange unless I’m missing something? Or if maybe the first half of the restaurant wasn’t open yet? I’m not sure. Anyways we made ourselves all the way to the back where the bar was, and was immediately greeted my the bartender. We took a seat at the booth. The bartender came and took our order and helped us with the choices on the menu, she even gave us a free shot of their house made… I actually don’t remember what it was. to try! I got the roast beef sandwich which was so delish! One of the best ones I’ve ever had actually. I had it with sweet potato chips. Now let me tell you, I don’t even like sweet potato but I’ll try it here and there and wowzers! They were amazing!!! I highly recommend getting it. We also got the truffle fries which were out of this world. It was so different from regular fries, it was packed with spices and was very flavourful. Overall wonderful service. Can’t wait to come back during the weekends.

My boss took me out to lunch here and at first I thought it was weird. Honestly the menu has things that seem weird to me but once I took a bite in to my pesto roast beef sandwich I was in LOVE. There sweet potato chips are also fantastic! I highly recommend you try this place.

Jasper is the Hillsboro’s nicest and friendliest bar tender! If you are a burger-lover(like me! ;-)), you should try«The 505». I like the medium …

I feel weird giving a 5 star review after only one visit, but there was literally nothing that wasn’t perfect. We stopped in for cocktails and a late dinner so we ordered from the late night menu in the pub. Food was phenomenal. We ordered the stuffed portobellos, cheddar bacon ranch fries and the BLT salad. Everything was fantastic but the house made dressings stole the show. Before our food came out, chef Phil brought some bruschetta he had been tinkering with for us to try out before he puts it on the menu. Best bruschetta I can remember having. I hope it makes the cut and lands on the menu, because it alone would be worth a return visit. Matt at the bar is a master of his craft. We drank our way through a few of the cocktails on the menu as well as some tried and true classics and they were all perfect. Top notch liquor and the homemade syrups make for some really unique and delicious drinks. Sadly we didn’t notice the N64 booth until we were on our way out but you better believe next time we visit I will be bringing a copy of Mario Kart or Goldeneye with me. Overall it was a tremendous experience. We’ve lived in Hillsboro for a little over a year now and this is hands down the best place we’ve found for food or drinks. Can’t recommend it highly enough and I can’t wait to go back.

Living in Hillsboro I have come to feel that I need to venture Eastwards towards and into Portland to get quality food. Last night my wife and I got a glimmer of hope at Clark’s. We had their California burger with their sweet potato chips, a small bowl of clean chowder, and their Mediterranean portobello sandwich with truffle fries. The burger was cooked to medium well per our request, the seasoning was balanced and added great flavor. The portobello sandwich was the highlight to me. The compilation of mushroom, goat cheese, red onion, arugula was rich and again balanced. The clan chowder was chock full of clam, potatoes, cream and deliciousness. Matt was the gentleman who took care of us and let us know he is one of the partners in the business really looking to build up the dinner atmosphere as well as create an awesome happy hour. We are very excited for Clark’s future with Matt and crew and will be coming back!

Never thought I would try this but SOOGOOD! PB& J Burger with Havarti in Hillsboro AND every ingredient is local bonus stars for that! When I took a bite it reminded me of that episode of Friends when Joey ate Rachel’s accidental meat Trifle. Sounds weird at first but what else is there to say. Meat– Good, Peanut butter– Good, Jelly– Good, Havarti– Good, Bread– Good! Also tried my brothers pesto roast beef sandwich. That was very delicious too.

My favorite place in Hillsboro to hang out in the evening. I’ve been visiting the Pub portion of the business since it opened last month and the owner(Zach) and bartenders(Chris and Dave) are great. Compared to a few other places in town, the pub is a bit hidden, since the bistro that fronts Main Street isn’t usually open in the evening. You need to enter using the«Pub» door to the side and walk down the long candle lit hallway to the pub in the back. There you will find booths in a darkened area by a fire pit, a long bar with TVs and a game room(pool tables and dart boards). Since I’m usually dining solo, I hang out at the bar, watch a game and chat with the regulars. My favorite drink on the menu is the Brazilian«Caipi» which is a great deal at $ 5. They also have four beers on tap, as well as sodas(Coke products) and a few other specialty cocktails. The bistro menu is a variety of sandwiches(whimsically topped with an olive on a skewer) and they have a few pub menu items(fries, nachos and potato leek poutine) as well. My favorite sandwich so far has been the Tequila Lime Chicken. There is an additional $ 2 charge for a side(salad, sweet potato chips or fries). The menu has changed a fair bit during the past month and they recently added burgers. They also remove a couple items from their bistro menu at night. Another really interesting item is their Clark’s PB&J. Honestly, it sounds disgusting(Grilled Peanut Butter & Jam with Havarti Cheese and Bacon), but as one of the other regulars told me, «Once you try it, it will be hard to order anything else.» And he was right. They also have a burger with a similar combination of toppings. And as far as the sides go, my personal favorite are the house made sweet potato chips. A running joke I have with the owner is that he needs to add hooks under the bar for purses.(Sort of my customer ‘honey do’ list). Since the pub is brand spanking new, it has been fun to see them add events and make updates to the space. On Monday nights, Geeks Who Drink hosts Pub Trivia Night from 8:00 — 10:00p. They have live music and art nights as well. This place keeps getting better and better.

We’ve been following Clark’s on FB for quite awhile now, but their previously limited hours didn’t mesh with my schedule but now that they’re open later & on weekends, we’re looking forward to becoming regulars. The food was unique, flavorful, delicious, & filling. The tucked away bar in back is gorgeous. The owner kindly gave us a tour & told us about his plans for the bar. So exciting! We are so happy to have Clark’s here in Hillsboro!
