Called in an order for a meatball platter for a party. Told them the time I had to have them ready for pickup giving them plenty of time to prepare the order. They had about six hours to prepare the order. The waitress said to call in the early afternoon to remind them. Called, but no one answered the phone. Called again and left a message. Stopped in to pick up the order. My first impression as I walked in the door was«what a $hithole!». Dark, dirty and tables were filthy. When I finally got someone to get my order so I could leave, I still had to wait at least another ten minutes for them to finally tell me they didn’t even start them and it was going to be another 45 minutes before they were ready! Thanks. Now I needed to come up with something else to bring to the party, and I sure wasn’t going to buy anything from this place. I had to give them one star. They really deserve a –5 star rating.

Food is okay. Service is at its worst. You might as well serve yourself. I’ve been several times, meet friends there, drink with my spouse and slow service and sometimes depending who serves you, it’s like your bothering them. I will come back when I hear service has improved They are not completed assholes, they just need a good manager to teach them to acknowledge their customers and smile like you like your job. Hope it improves, it has potential.

2 Margaritas high rollers $ 23 but that wasn’t the worst part! I’ve been here a handful of times. Immediately walking in the waitress with the tattoo was rude my group and I Sat down to a booth she came over asked us to move because it was reserved she just forgot to put the sign. Okay we decide to try the outside patio! Our waiter Jordan was friendly the couple times I saw him. It was his birthday so he had a group of buddies on the patio that he kept going over to and chatting with and right before he brought our food out he was smoking a cigarette with them took a couple puffs and continued working… Without washing his hands!!! Then we wanted to leave our waiter no where to be found we go inside he is at the bar having some red wine! I ask a blonde waitress to cash me out she says she’s on it 15mins later Jordan comes outside without my tab! Telling an obnoxious story about why he took so long trying to separate a bar fight after we saw him sitting with his buddies drinking. This has to be the worst service I’ve ever had!!!

For a bar and grill in the suburbs, this place is definitely hopping on a Thursday night for their Thursday night Kareoke. It is really not a bad place to visit and their bartender makes pretty good drinks and you need those drinks for Kareoking in front of strangers. Their Kareoke DJ is absolutely hilarious! He gets on stage and sings with the rest of the guests as well as help take orders and buses the tables. But their food is just meh. It is not inedible and gives you stomach ache afteward, but it is not memorable. It is just a regular Bar and Grill food. I have been visiting places that are incredibly easy to get to and Coyote’s Bar and Grill is definitely one of those places. Will I be back for Thursday Night Kareoke? Sure… but will I order food here? No I will probably save my money and order more drinks instead.

Knowing they only had 2 stars on Unilocal, all my friends still wanted to go. We show up, it’s a nice looking place. Looks updated, looks like there are people inside. We get inside and go upstairs since that’s where the pool and shuffle board is. We get up there, there a couple people up there. There are a couple of tattered leather love seats and a few tables. We order our drinks and food, the waitress didn’t write anything down and I was impressed already. 15 – 20 minutes later we still don’t have our drinks. She finally brings them and leaves out 1 persons drink. I go down to the bar after 10 more minutes of my friend waiting for her drink and there it is sitting on the bar. I see our waitress over off to the side of the bar flirting with some guy. I ask if I can take the drink, without asking any questions or hesitation the bartender who didn’t actually know who’s drink that was, lets me walk off with it. A few minutes later we get our food. The burger was good but well done, the salad wasn’t even the salad I wanted and my friend ordered a side of tots instead of a salad and didn’t get it and my friend who ordered wings didn’t get any dipping sauce. My feeling of being impressed by her ability to take our orders with out writing them down quickly went away. A minute later there was some kind of burning in the kitchen because the place filled with smoke, we didn’t even want to order a second round of drinks because we didn’t want to wait forever. There was only one waitress in this large upstairs area on a weekend, poor management? The place inside wasn’t decorated well either, the building is nice but they need a decorator.

Always excellent service, but the food is really lacking. Just bland and what you might call typical bar food. Drinks are also a little pricey for a borderline divey style place. As a bar I would give a 4, but as a restaurant I would give a 2, so 3 stars seems fair.

Good food but don’t go upstairs… It’s very warm up there when they have a band going. They need ceiling fans really bad. Emily was our server and she did a wonderful job very positive and quick.

The broccoli raab that came with my wife’s salmon was amazing. Spicy chicken sandwich was chicken tenders with a Frank’s hot sauce type sauce on top, just a heads up. The rosemary fries were awesome though.

I haven’t been there during the day, I’ve only gone in the evenings when there’s been a live band/entertainment. With that said, this place is a fun local spot to go to if you don’t feel like trekking downtown. Service is ok, not super friendly, not super fast, but what do you expect when there’s some loud cover band playing? The food & drinks are kinda pricey when you’re not ordering off happy hour. I appreciate this place for giving us Westsiders somewhere to go & have fun. The crowd demographic can be all over the place on any given night. One night you go and it seems like all there are are Intel engineers & cougars, another night it can be frat boys & bachelorette parties, sprinkled with stay-home moms that don’t get out that often … that’s kinda why I like this place. And maybe it matter more to the ladies, but their bathrooms have always been real nice & clean!

Its in a newer building so I think that is what draw people in. There should be a full bar upstairs but I guess it being so packed already up there it would make it worse. It needs a bar rescue to put everything where it needs to go.

HORRIBLE! I went here last Thursday ordered couple things from HH menu one of it is nachos and I ordered couple glasses of Pinot. A friend of mine was with me and we did split the bill, we gave the waiters two credit cards to split the bill. I got charged twice for $ 17.13 and $ 17.12 and my friend also got charged $ 17.13 I called and left a message but no one bothered to call me back. I called again a few minutes ago and left a message and I hope a manager will call me back soon. The food was horrible! I understand it’s a Hillsboro’s local bar and no one cares! I came from San Francisco and have been spoiled with so many varieties of good places and food so Coyote is a one star to me. I will not return, too bad this could be my hang out place but oh well!

Closer to three stars but I’m going to award a «bonus star» based on character and service. About the best compliment I could pay you can see in my picture, we chose to come here as a place not for just us but our children and a reunion. The quality of the food will surprise you. What appears to be typical pub fare ends up being several notches above. Had the nachos, wings and chicken alfredo. Yes, I ordered chicken. alfredo. Lol… something I typically never do but the chicken was seared and seasoned pleasingly. Our children sat across from us in another booth and the server didn’t skip a beat in efficiently serving both tables. The children’s fries came with herbs on them(rosemary?) so be aware of that if your kids don’t like that kind of thing. That’s the pleasant kind of detail I’m referring to that sets Coyote apart from your typical bar/restaurant.

Went here for the first time(as I am recently 21) after many recommendations. I’ve been told to go during happy hour, but was having a bad day so I stopped by on my way home. It was a Saturday night and was pretty packed but the bartender was great and the drinks came fast. A little on the weak side, but not so much so that they weren’t worth the $ 7 price for the martini. I do wish I had gone during happy hour as my husband and I paid $ 9 dollars for a tiny order of Mozzarella sticks. 3 stars for the ridiculously over priced food.

Coyote’s was unfortunately busy when we went. They are a bar that has a lot of seating and sufficient space to hold large parties. But they are ill equipped to serve well. They were unable to keep up with the droves of people in their establishment. I can see why people flock here because of the projector, large space to meet big groups, etc. but for me it isn’t worth spending money there. If you want your check, expect to wait a while for it. Servers & bartenders? Yes, they have them but they aren’t trained well enough or don’t have the skills to deal with their many customers. :(

Eek! methinks not, ever again. we were given a friendly greeting and that was about it from then on. we both ordered the Ultimate Kobe Beef Burger. one order had the rosemary fries and the second order had the side salad. after almost 30 minutes, our burgers were delivered to the table. presentation was good but that was about it for the food. the burger did not have any Kobe-ey flavor at all. it was a pre-formed patty that tasted like most average burgers. my fries were limp and cold. my medium burger was well-done and luke warm. my friend’s rare burger was well-done and luke warm. i guess the plates didn’t even sit under a heat lamp waiting to be picked up. the side salad was a nice salad with lots of frisee. a small plastic cup of ketchup was on my plate but not my friend’s plate. i walked up to the bar and asked for ketchup to be brought to the table and was answered by a visible sigh from the bartender who was so friendly earlier. apparently if one does not order fries, ketchup is not put on the plate that also has a hamburger on it. the ketchup was finally delivered in more little plastic cups by the bartender who was delivering an order to another table, so that was that and another 10 minute wait. finally we waved down the person who had delivered our plates and given us the missing ketchup explanation. since no one had stopped by to see how our meal was, at that point i informed her that my fries were limp and cold, my burger was well-done and luke warm and the rare burger was also well-done. this person turned to the bartender and said«i will hand this off to you». i told both of them that i was not fishing for a comped meal, but wanted to let them know as an FYI to let the kitchen know. unfortunately we over-heard the ensuing conversation between the two women that took place mere steps away from our booth. our waitress suggested to the bartender to at least comp the beer, and the bartender said absolutley not. so that was about it for that. poor food, poor service that bordered on rudeness when we asked for ketchup or we had questions and waved down the waitress for our check on a slow Columbus Day holiday at 1:30p. unacceptable.

Went here on a Friday night to hear my friend’s dad’s band play(Beadhead). Cool venue. I liked where the stage was positioned and how there was also an upper dining area where you can sit and watch the band. Got here around 8:15. I ordered the bison burger, sans cheese. It was alright. I wanted to try it because I had never tried bison before. Honestly though, I couldn’t taste the difference been bison and regular old beef, so I suggest just going with the beef burger(it’s cheaper too). My favorite were the fries! Rosemary garlic, delicious! Our waiter was kind of strange… He was a bit rude in a subtle way. I asked for my burger with lettuce, tomato and onion, and he came back at me with, «yeah, that’s what it comes with.» Well sorry, Pal, not every place puts that on their burgers, surprisingly enough, so I just wanted to clarify. He also forgot to bring enough silverware for the table and napkins. Had to remind him a few times. I understand it was busy, but come on, that’s a standard request. Overall a decent place. Don’t think I would come here again unless my friend’s dad is playing, mainly because it’s a little out of the way.

We’ve been twice now. Decent margarita & good music. That’s really all I have to say, but Unilocal says what I wrote wasn’t long enough to be a review so here are some more words.

Le sigh. I am grudgingly… yes…grudgingly…oh my lord so grudgingly updating my review here. I swore I’d never come back and I sure didn’t for FOURYEARS… until the snow hit and this was the only place open within walking distance. Even then I did it just about kicking, screaming and was willing to go without food. Because I don’t forget the CRAP service we got four years ago. It was pretty bad — enough that if I see a hair of that manager in there I will immediately revoke this review. Anywho, update. We were desperate. It was open. We went. And surprisingly got quite good service. Our waitress was attentive, nice and had great humor having to work when just about no one else was. The drinks were solid and the pizza(which is new to their menu?). Huh, not too shabby! We got the BBQ chicken and it was a solid choice indeed. Huh, I thought to myself — maybe this place isn’t so bad. Then the nightmare of 4 years ago and my hostility returned. Then…last weekend. We came here… was I tricked? I guess it was willingly since Morgy’s closes early. We walked in and it was hopping with a live band. Seating was super sparse but we nabbed the only booth we saw. We sat down and debated when a good time to go to the bar would be(there was about a 3 deep line) when(cue angel music) a waitress arrived! She took good care of us and we were rarely without a refill. We also got the chicken quesadilla which was good, albeit a bit greasy. So…I’m coming around. I am still leery about this place but it has earned itself some stars since last I came.
