Pants fitting a bit too well? Finding yourself not second-guessing your food choices late at night? Try Dakota’s Roadhouse! Their«Mount Rushmore» burger is great for gluttons like myself, who don’t shy away from fatty, greasy foods. I’d rather have it topped with some bacon and a fried egg rather than a couple of onion rings, but that’s just me… Overall, most of the items are what you’ve come to expect from a «roadhouse» type of restaurant. Though I haven’t tried the bbq, I’ve been told it’s quite tasty. Might have to try that next time I am in the area.

Worked outside all day and did not want to cook, so a quick trip into town for supper. Chose this one because we hadn’t been for awhile. In spite of the bad reviews, we were pleasantly surprised. Service was good and my steak salad was comparable to one I had in Columbus not long ago for quite a bit more money. My steak was cooked to order and the salad greens were fresh. Onions and peppers were caramelized which was nice and tasty.

I’ve been here 3 times. The first time was complete mediocre. Small portions and not very good food. With average service. The 2nd time with another couple and place was fantastic. It was completely different. Food was excellent and seaoned perfectly! Service was awesome. Aside from a long wait on a Saturday night the place had redeemed itself. So, we went again yesterday after about 8 months. The server was attentive but seemed busy despite the restaurant not being very crowded. The food… was just not good. Back to very small portions, bland & unseasoned. My steak was chewy and wasn’t tasteful. My daughter got the kids burger meal and even it tasted like something you would get out of a microwave. The side salads were the best part. So, maybe it’s hit or miss but 50.00 for 3 not so good meals is hard to swallow. We’ll be going straight to a Texas Roadhouse next time we want a good meal. Also, way over priced!

The only thing preventing Dakota’s from a one-star rating was the performance of our server, Aaron. His attention to detail and positive interaction with our party saved the outing. First off, we came for a birthday luncheon after church one Sunday, when children were supposed to eat free. We were pointed toward our tables, which were not set up to accommodate the number of diners in the reservation which we made. We ended up putting tables together ourselves. Our server made his first appearance about 10 minutes later, and took drink orders. Another ten minutes, and we had our drinks, at which time he asked if we were ready to order — we hadn’t even seen a menu. A couple of minutes later, he brought menus, apologized, and gave us time to look them over before ordering. When we were finally able to place orders, the first plates — side salads — took 30 minutes to come out. The hot dishes weren’t out for over an hour, and then, only after we asked numerous people to check on them. To his credit, Aaron remembered where everything went, and was completely professional. Two hours later, we were finally given checks and allowed to leave, but the children did not eat free, as previously believed. The food is passable, but nothing to write home about. If you want a decent meal, there are plenty of better options around town.

We were really thankful that we were treated to this place, due to the menu prices, since we would never want to pay these prices. For the price the food was definitely not worth it and the steak was very forgettable. We did get an appetizer, but it was greasy and little seasoning. The décor is the typical for a steakhouse chain, so there is nothing to really say about it in extent.

Service was good, food was over priced and not fantastic. My boyfriend didn’t like the place at all.

We were pleasantly surprised by Dakota’s when we stopped in recently during our holiday travels. This is a small chain… one of those places where they give you a bucket of peanuts before your meal. The food was actually pretty good, and there was plenty of variety on the menu. Our server was prompt and friendly.
