That is not hot and sour soup, that is tasteless gruel. Food was okay, service decent. Overall, under impressed.

Back in college, there was an old-school Chinese place not far from campus where a person could get a big lunch for not a lot of money. Pretty basic stuff — not the refined-palate sort of Asian cuisine that’s written about so much today — rather, it was the sort of thing that passed for ‘Chinese’ back as far as the 1950’s. I hadn’t frequented this place for quite a while — then, when the kitchen fire closed it for several months while they rebuilt, my ‘jones’ for cheap Chinese food had to go unfulfilled. See, I have to admit a soft spot for that sort of thing — because it conjures up good memories of a time when it was possible to walk in starved, leave full, and still have money left over. Red sauce and hot mustard for your fried shrimp. That pink-sauce on your deep-fried sweet and sour pork. Fried rice. Yes; it’s all here at Dancing Dragon, along with a lot of other things. Since the closure of so many of these places(China Bay in Beaverton is now a pizza parlor), it’s hard to scratch that itch when it hits — but the $ 20 you’ll struggle to spend here — including tip — on two big platefuls of cheap Chinese food is a hard argument to beat. So, no, this isn’t high-end. Adjust your palate accordingly, and you’ll leave satisfied.

I love this place. I had eaten here many years ago. When I moved back into the area I tried it again. The service is amazing and the food great. The dinners are more than enough food for one person. The food has always been fresh and very hot when it arrives. You will not be disappointed.

This place has really gone downhill, sloppy, soggy, and less than edible, we used to get take out several years ago, it was decent, when they reopened after the fire, complete crap! I suggest GOODTASTENOODLEHOUSE on T. V hwy, they offer the most authentic Chinese food on the west side. seriously good.Dancing Dragon, should sit this one out.

I should have read reviews before coming here. This place is nasty. Egg foo young is more like nasty dog fooyoung worthy of dog food. Definitely no return trip.

I really don’t know how this place stay open. My co-worker goes here every now and then, I’m not sure why cause he always complains about it. I have tried their food twice when he has picked something up and I will not eat anything from here again. I tried different things thinking maybe I just got something they don’t make well but I have since come to the conclusion that they just are not very good.

This place is flat NASTY! IFYOUHAVEMSGISSUES, DONOTEATHERE! I’VEBEENSICKALLNIGHT! !! Save your money and go elsewhere! This is our second time at this establishment.(Thought we’d give them a second chance) While waiting for our $ 42.00 of food to go, we noticed the Black trails on the red carpet leading to and from the kitchen. My boyfriend and I also noticed that at 7 pm on a Saturday night there was only one other couple in the entire restaurant. The first time we ate there, we both felt effects of ??? So Sat night I became very ill from so much MSG. The food is way over battered and questionable at best! Again, save your money and go elsewhere! !!

One word: beware! If only I had read the reviews before going there. Now I’m ashamed to even admit it, but we hadn’t had Chinese food for a long time and, thinking that all old school Chinese food places like this were the same, we ended up there last Sunday. We ordered egg rolls to share and a combo each. First the egg rolls: we just expected the normal crispy on the outside, full of veggies and great for dipping little appetizers that you can get everywhere, even the grocery store. Nope! What they brought us were more the size of fast food burritos, fried and greasy on the outside, mostly doughy on the inside with a little bit of mushy, slightly greenish stuff with a hint of curry flavor(vegetables???) … GROSS! and just weird. Next the combos… my husband got the subgum with sweet and sour chicken, I got the kung pao with sweet and sour pork, and both came with fried rice. He said the subgum was ok, but both of our sweet and sour dishes(exactly the same btw) were doughy, undercooked and mostly globs of batter(not sure what was inside). I could only eat about 1⁄3 of the kung pao they served me, because it was so spicy-yet flavorless, even mixing the sweet and sour sauce didn’t help! The peanuts were soggy, the«chicken» was mushy, the sauce was thick and starchy… there was nothing fresh about it. Thankfully, we didn’t finish our meals and didn’t take a box for our dog because I’ve been sick for 2 days(ugh, really sick — details not necessary), and I hate to think how much worse it may have been if I had eaten more. This place is ok if you want to lose a few pounds, but definitely — — not recommended!

After reading the horrible reviews of this restaurant, I decided to try it anyway. There aren’t many Chinese food restaurants in my area. My mistake. We placed an order to be picked up. Szechuan Beef and Sesame Chicken. The Szechuan Beef was described as pieces of breaded steak, deep fried and covered with Szechuan sauce. We received small pieces of tough steak, no breading and more sauce than steak. It was edible though. The Sesame Chicken, was the disappointing one. We received a box of breaded chicken bits and a cup of ketchup. I called the restaurant to inform them that they forgot to put the sesame chicken sauce in the bag or on the chicken and they told me that the cup of ketchup was the sesame sauce. It was ketchup. SOOOO bad! Tasted horrible! My family was disappointed. I WILLNEVERWASTEMYMONEYATTHATPLACEAGAIN!!!

I wish I had red the reviews before going here. I actually wanted to go to Rock N Wingz but they were closed. I was starving and decided to go here. I ordered some lunch plate with sweet and sour chicken, and sesame chicken, along with pork lo mein. Half of the chicken was covered in the sweet and sour sauce, and the other part of it was sauceless. I asked if they forgot the sesame sauce, and she pointed to this concoction that looked like ketchup, mustard, and sesame seeds. She said that was the sauce. Ewwwwww. Also the lo mein was undercooked. You’d be better off going to a Chinese food buffet than eating here.

I wish I had read any one of the reviews before I ate here. I would have taken everyone else’s advice and saved my money. The food was very bland and barely qualified as Chinese food. The outside of the pot stickers were very thick and had a sweet taste to them that threw the entire flavor off. The best tasting part of the meal was the fortune cookies. This place gets 2 stars for the speed of service and how pleasant they were. Save your money.

Just awful. I ordered the fried rice. I needed to add pepper and sriracha and still I couldn’t taste the spiciness even though it stated on the menu that it’s a hot dish. We were half through our meal and the waitress asked if we needed boxes… we weren’t even done — felt so rushed oh and did I mention she came out with the fortune cookies and the check when we were a couple of bites into our food. Terrible. As for the food maybe a fast food restaurant but not a restaurant… deceiving.

The Dragon, our go-to Chinese food spot in Hillsboro. Let’s be real, this place isn’t great. but if you’re looking for reasonably priced American-Chinese food, it will definitely do! We always go for the combo plates, which provide more than enough food to satisfy. Service is quick and the staff is always friendly. As long as your hopes aren’t too high, you won’t be disappointed.

Truly terrible. I used to come here as a child and have fond memories of eating here with my grandparents who have since passed. I had sincerely hoped after the restaurant burned down, that they would take the opportunity to rework the restaurant. Unfortunately, they didn’t. The food was bland and the restaurant was HOT — like 80 degrees. When we complained about sweating in our booth, they told us they turned down the temp on the air conditioning, but we never felt the difference. The staff was friendly enough, but the ambiance and the flavorless food will keep me away forever. I wish I had never gone back — at least I still would have had my pleasant memories … American Chinese food may not be great, but I will happily spend my money at Wong’s — the food is hot, plentiful and seasoned right with a good staff looking after you.

Ok, sadly they are back down to 2 stars for me and I think I don’t need to eat there anymore after today. I went to lunch a bit late at 1:30 it is a fair drive for me to get here as I live in Beaverton but was CRAVING some good Chinese. They sat me down and the owner dude brought me a carafe of iced tea, either I blacked out or I ordered it, I am not sure which, but it was damn good tea. I seriously do not remember asking for it, but I digress. I ordered the number 6 lunch special as usual which is Fried Rice, Subgum Chicken Chow Mein, Fried Shrimp and Barbecued Pork. I noticed today that the rice is probably not fried, it is very brown and has not one stitch of anything other than rice in it, no veggies, weird. The shrimp today was greasy and the breading was raw. The Subgum Chicken was still great if you get pan fried noodles and the Pork was good. They sat me down, took my order, gave me my food and that was the last I saw of them. They all sat down and had lunch together(owner, servers and cooks I guess). There is no music so I could hear them clearly(including eating) and I felt weird eating myself with them sitting so close by. No one ever came to see if I was ok or needed anything. It was just weird, I was the only patron in the place. I took my book so I was in no hurry and finally after their lunch was over my server came by with my bill. Perhaps that is why I got the carafe of iced tea so they could ignore me for awhile. I realized today that I have been eating here since I was about 12 years and I am now 45, that is a long ass time and they have done zero remodeling or updating, it is the exact same as when I was a teen. p. s. the bathrooms are gross!

I love Dancing Dragon. Their egg rolls are perfect. Their Chow Mein with pan fried noodles is perfect. They have always been clean and they are incredibly friendly. Ah, and their mustard. Chinese restaurants should make their mustard– no plastic packets for me. Dancing Dragon has always done a great job on this front. Their BBQ pork is the best I’ve had. I don’t know what they do to it– but it’s perfection. I live in Portland, and out Chinese food options are scarce. One of the few things that makes me miss the burbs. Asian food is 10 times better west of the hills. This is my first choice for dinner with the parents when I’m in Hillsboro. My mother is NOT into Chinese food– but she will eat here. This place is pretty old school– looks the same as it did when I was 5. Same candy machines, same artwork, same glass counter with little goodies inside. Perhaps some of their food is little dry, but I much prefer dry over slimy.

Its true. This place is pretty much the worst in every aspect that makes up the mega task that is good food service. «Why 2 stars then?» you ask. One word: Eggrolls. I have tried several items on the DD menu in an attempt to support my boyfriends belief that the place really is decent. By the way, 7 months and a dozen dinners later, he still supports that belief. In my experience the food is disgusting in a new and exciting way each and every time, and the DD is the only restaurant that has actually made me wonder if the cat/dog asian eatery sterotype had any actual validity. I bluff you not fellow eaters, this place cant even pull off fried rice without it not only being bad, but suspect as well. Ive never been inside the actual restaurant, which should tell you volumes about the outside of the restaurant. Yet for some reason, the DD has managed to master the art that is the Eggroll. Easily 8″ long and 5.5″ around(makes for excellent inappropriate dinner props if youre as immature as I can be) and stuffed with some heavenly concoction of what I hope is vegetables(there may be other things in the mix but I fear asking) and deep fried in what I hope is legitimate animal fat, just one is an entire meal. Sometimes I crave the DD eggroll, I can not help it and I am not ashamed. In closing, just remember: Eggroll ONLY and dont think about it(and by «it», I mean The Dancing Dragon).
