Learning Years Hawthorn Farm

I have been very happy with Learning Years. My son is 5 and is in there preschool program, he had attended two other preschools where circumstances changed, so we needed to find a new school quickly at the end of the summer. I toured over 10 local schools… they all had roughly the same prices. But none gave me to good vibes like THIS Learning Years did.
This is my third child, and I was school teacher… so I feel like I am a hard customer. I wanted a space that was warm, welcoming, not too uptight, and full of creativity. I did not want a super rigid educational curriculum like some schools pushed, but I still wanted him learning and being exposed to new things.
My child has multiple food allergies, and they have ALWAYS been super accommodating and understanding. They have worked with me every step of the way.
I would recommend this place to anyone, we have been very happy here.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. My daughter has been coming here since she was 6 weeks old and she is now 4 years old. The teachers here are kind, caring, loving and engaging. They provide numerous enrichment classes to the kids, such as music, Spanish and celebrate special holidays with arts and crafts, parties. They make it a very fun, safe, vibrant place. They even sent us home with a potty training kit (complete with books and video) when my daughter was potty-​training. Worked like magic — potty trained in 2 days! The whole school is very well equipped and I can tell the owner invests in the school’s facilities. Our favorite teachers: all of them. 5 stars all the way.

Don’t get near this place. We had a terrible experience with them. Our baby is a bit challenging with food, at some point in they came to us and told us they get 2 new more babies and that our 1yo baby can’t stay in the babies classroom and can’t move to the toddlers cause he is not eating by himself. In other words — you got two weeks to make him eat by himself or we won’t have the time to feed him!!! And they didn’t talked to us on this before, they only said it cause they wanted to get the two new more babies! They told us some stupid things about state law not allowing him to feed him after 1y!!! Besides, looking back we felt that they were impatient with him, whenever we came we saw him playing with himself and the teachers either looking or taking care of other babies. The staff there is so cold. They are so not nice. Just stay out of this terrible place. On first look it looks great but after some time you’ll figure it out.

My son went here for almost 5 years and we really like the place. Teachers are very nice and caring. Also they start a lot activities, such as arts & craft, starting at the very early age.
As Sam mentioned, they have part-​time options. In addition, they have nice vacation policy, i.e. you get 16 days of vacation days /​year for which you don’t get charged, and any week you take off beyond that is 50% off.

It’s been a long time since I was a kid here, but of the few vague memories I have, none of them are bad. However, this isn’t about me, it’s about my Jeffy.
My Jeffy loves the place. He loves the other kids and the women who take care of him. Whenever I see him there he’s always happy (barring a dirty diaper.)
The women who work there are always quick to tend the children’s’ needs and rarely do any of the kids cry. Whenever I have any special feeding requests they are more than happy to oblige.
Learning Years also has the option of going less than 5 days a week, so if the $ 1200 (I mathed it out) a month price is a wee to steep, even though it’s one of the lowest I found, you could go for 4 days a week and drop it to near $ 950 a month. That’s what we do and it helps our pocket book and makes grandma happy cause Wednesdays are grandma days.
The only issue I have is that due to the amount of different workers communication to the parents can be a bit delayed. This is only for trivial stuff though, like where I can put the car seat during the day. All of the big issues, like accident reports and such are communicated quickly and clearly.
If you can get space, I suggest you send your kid there. He/​she might even becomes friends with my Jeffy.
