Premier Hyundai of Hillsboro

This place was great when it was «Larry Miller Hyundai». My wife and I went in and we bought a Veloster with no money down, and payments cheaper than the Sonata I traded in. The finance people were GREAT, and were actively working with the banks to get the best interest possible.
Now they are owned by Dicks, which I kinda knew would be a bad move, but our visit today confirmed it. Luckily the same salesperson (Diana) was there I bought my Veloster from, but the new finance people ruined the whole experience. Before he even checked with any of the banks, he brings out prelim paperwork showing $ 3000 down and payments of over $ 700 for 5 years. I looked at him like he was crazy. That Tucson was only $ 1000 more than the Veloster I bought, and my payments are nowhere near that. My wife was going to trade in her Elantra, and he was saying we had a lot of negative equity, and they sell NEW Elantras for $ 15,000 and my wife owes $ 14k on hers.
First off Mr Slick, there isn’t anywhere you can buy a BRAND NEW loaded Elantra for $ 15k in the Portland area. Just straight up insulted our intelligence. Then he had the nerve to say that even if we just bought the Tucson straight out, our payments would probably be about $ 500. He must have been as high as camel pussy to think we are that stupid. I immediately said «You guys must have changed financing people» and I told my wife we’re leaving. I didn’t want to hear another thing his dumb ass had to say.
The sad part is that would’ve been our 4^th Hyundai purchase, and also our 4^th car financed through Wells Fargo. If Mr Slick wasn’t so busy trying to hustle us and would’ve submitted our paperwork to the bank, they would’ve made a sale. Instead, we’ll just get an auto loan directly from Wells Fargo and go to another dealership. Because I bought my Veloster there a few months ago, I’m going to start being extremely anal and from now on every little noise I hear my car make, I am going to take it into the dealership and make them look at it because it’s under warranty.
I will NEVER buy another car from this place, I’ll just go to Beaverton Hyundai where I originally bought my Sonata from. I feel sorry for our favorite salesperson Diana who works there, because she sure as hell isn’t going to make as many sales with this new ownership group.

I had a great experience purchasing my 2014 Hyundai Sonata from Hillsboro Hyundai. The price of the car was far lower than any other local Hyundai dealer. The sales person Gary was very friendly and knowledgable. If you are in the market for a Hyundai I would highly recommend buying from them.

My old (1992) Subaru Legacy crapped out on me the first week of December. I paid $ 150 to get it to go again but it wouldn’t be long until the repairs would cost more than the vehicle so I started doing research for cheap but semireliable used cars online. I found a Ford Focus listed on this dealership’s website at $ 2500 (a steal!) so I contacted the dealership and made an appointment to come test drive it that Sunday.
I drove an hour an a half to Hillsboro to find that: the salesman I’d made the appt with was occupied, and they had «just sold it last night.» But not to worry! Here is another car in the same price range…
a car that died as soon as I got behind the wheel.
At this point they found another salesman because I was getting fed up and about to leave. This man claimed to be the owner’s son, and through a series of flirtatious bordering-​on-​harassing comments, imploring me to not go home in my Subaru because it is so unsafe, that his uncle owns a popular nightclub where he’d be able to get me gigs (I’m a belly dancer), convincing me that on «my salary» I can afford x payments, 6 hours later, starved (I’d only had an apple to eat before I left and nothing while there), 10pm at night, I signed a lot of papers, alone, for a new used car. With tears in my eyes.
For $ 7500.
Recall the $ 2500 car I’d planned to look at? Recall my price range?
The salesman is not related to anyone. Not the dealership owner, not the nightclub owner. I got in touch with the nightclub and the dancer who books their acts who assured me that not only is this salesman lying about these relationships, he’s physically and emotionally abusive to his girlfriends (or ex-​girlfriends, in her case) and should not be trusted.
I am now in debt. I can’t afford proper insurance because when they «figured out the payments I could afford» they didn’t factor in that my insurance would double. The CD player has already stopped working. I can’t get these $ 300-​a-​night gigs I was promised by this salesman. I sure as heck don’t fill up the gas tank for only $ 24 and definitely do not get 36 miles/​gallon. Every time I look out the window at that car, think about the car, am asked about the car, I experience symptoms similar to PTSD. I’m 25 years old, and work at a non-​profit child welfare agency. I’ve never been in debt in my life until now. I can’t afford to take fewer hours to pursue my dreams in the arts like I’d planned. Instead I work 40 hrs/​wk, and spend my ‘free’ time trying to book gigs, prepare for them, make my own costumes because I can’t afford to buy them, and get 4 hrs of sleep a night — because I love that job but can’t take the pay cut I’d need to support it with car payments and car insurance due for the next six years of my life.
And they just called demanding that I sign additional paperwork for my traded-​in subaru because they sold it.
They sold the Subaru I drove in with that was SO COMPLETELY UNSAFE that they’d feel GUILTY allowing me to drive it off the lot.
When this dealership burns to the ground, I invite the police to come find me. If it wasn’t me who did it, at least I’ll have a few extra guests at the party.
