this is about as good as it gets in the suburbs… you can forget your in the middle of thousands of people… the bridges are nice, they break up your walk. the lake is always active, with people and animals… i am a fan!

Excellent trail for running for the beginners… not much ups and downs but lots of greens and wildlife

Don’t know what’s more beautiful. The trail or the people. Open fields, a lovely lake, bridges, marked miles, and everyone says hi. Granted, I’m comparing this trail to what I’m used to(dry hot dirt paths in Los Angeles), but wow, this place makes me so envious of what life could be like if California received more rain. Dog-friendly. Bike-friendly. Fishing-friendly.(I think… I didn’t see any signs prohibiting it but I did see a man fishing in the lake??) Berry-picking-and-eating-friendly.(I legit saw a woman stop on her bike to pick some berries on some shrub and popped it right into her mouth!) & free, ample, easy to find, spacious parking that you’ll rarely see in LA.

I really like this trail. It starts(or ends) just south of Orchard Park and keeps going north, up and past Bethany Lake. If you live in the area it’s a great place to walk, run, bike, etc. and not be on the main street. It follows Rock Creek and therefore is full of bridges. You pass a bit of a swampy area in between Cornell and Evergreen Parkway, which is actually very beautiful. I’ve spotted rabbits, snakes, birds of course, and squirrels here. It’s a nice piece of the wild in an otherwise very busy area.
