Microtel Inn & Suites Hillsborough

Check in was fast the rooms are clean but if you’re a menopausal woman that air conditioners are crap you might want to find another place to stay if you need air

I seldom write 1-​star reviews, but there are some businesses that don’t deserve a single positive comment. We will NEVER go back here or any other Microtel Inn.
My mother booked three rooms for my family coming up for my graduation from UNC-​CH in June 2013 for $ 60, knowing that the price would increase as the date approached. When she called to confirm her reservation a few days before, she was informed there was only one room available. How could that be when we had clearly booked three rooms and had the confirmation to prove it? Well, apparently hotels will sometimes just ignore your reservation and sell it for a higher price later on. They then basically told us there was nothing they could do except pay $ 160 last minute somewhere else.
This is in no way an ok business practice. It put my mother through undo stress around my graduation and Mother’s Day– a time that should be full of celebration. I will never forget this and do my best to let other people know of it.

Nice place to stay in, considering the circumstances of not having power at your own house for a few days. But I enjoyed the stay with my wife and If something happens where we need to stay someplace again we would come back.
I’m assuming the suites have mini fridge, but stayed in a basic room which is small (yet cozy) with a single queen bed with a nice bathroom, a great 3^rd floor view with a window perk to sit in to look at downtown Hillsborough. Every floor you will find icemakers and a drink machine and every room has free wifi in it.
