I visited this place several times. Every time I order a salad the lettuce is wilted and old. This place is not inexpensive and I should not be getting old, leftover lettuce. The third and last time I visited I had to insist on fresh lettuce. The guy at the counter never disputed what I said. He went back into the kitchen and got the fresh lettuce. I will not be returning.

I recently had lunch at this restaurant in Hillsborough, NJ. Not my first visit. I thought the salads were a good change of pace. On this particular visit, I ordered a salad and two medium soups for a friend and myself. The total came to $ 18 and change. As the cashier was bagging my order I noticed he only put one roll in my bag. I explained that my order is for two people, and that I was expecting two rolls. I always received two rolls when I ordered two salads. The cashier explained that rolls only come with salads and large soups, not medium soups. Well… If this were a restaurant school I’d give Saladworks an «A» for profit margin, and an «F» for customer satisfaction — they just lost a customer. They charged me almost $ 19 for a salad and two medium soups and couldn’t spare a flippin’ roll — really??? I hope you enjoy the profit on your roll, Cheap A**… I won’t be back.

Today’s experience was wonderful as always. Salads are always very fresh and delicious. I tried their new strawberry summer salad with the oil and lemon dressing-it was so delicious!!! The only problem is that it’s only available until September. My husbands Sophie’s salad was perfect. The wheat rolls were still warm when we got home too.

I must admit, it is quite nice to find something healthy in Hillsborough for a change instead of eating italian or fast food. NJ has a sad lack of delicious salad places that most cities and states have adapted. Living in California for 3 years, I was spoiled by the extremely fresh produce and unique salad creations that I would purchase on a daily basis. Therefore, when I find a salad place in NJ I always make sure to set my expectations much lower than Cali. Saladworks does a good job of offering up a wide variety of ingredients from different lettuce types to dressings. The fact that the salads are so customizable makes this place much more appealing than just ordering a pre-created salad that leaves for little creativity and options. Although not the freshest of ingredients, I can still taylor my salad into something yummy and healthy. You are always given a whole wheat or white roll with your salad which may not be the healthiest choice, but a choice none the less. When this place first opened back when I was in high school the ingredient and service seemed to be better. Recently, this place has definitely taken a step back on quality but still keeps their prices steady. Luckily this Saladworks is located in Hillsborough and is one of the only salad shops if not THE only salad shop in town or else it would not survive for too long. For something more delicious although less options available, I would stroll on over to Catered Affair.

I am not a complainer but come on how can you call it a cobb salad with 4 pieces of chicken squares in it. The problem with places like this is that they reduce the amount of ingredients they include. This isn’t a cheap salad, they should know better than to keep cutting it back. You can save by serving in styrofoam instead of these fancy hard plastic boxes, not by being chinsy with ingredients. I have been going to this place for a couple years, and things(except the price) keep getting smaller, today was my last — I will go to Weiss to get my salads from now on. Check back for that review.

It was date night with my boyfriend. This Saladworks is very nice and clean. New owner came in and made it better. Food was really good and fresh. The employees took the time to say hi and told me all the meat, cheese and more of what I can get. Awesome job and I will be returning back.

My family have been happy and faithful customers of Hillsborough Saladworks for years. Sadly, that has come to an end. In the last couple months we have been disappointed with the quality of certain salad ingredients on a couple occasions, but today was the worst: wilted, off-tasting lettuce with lots of brown pieces, funky cucumbers and carrots. Tasted so bad I threw the whole thing out after a few bites. The last straw was when I called the store manager to report my concerns… she did not seem to take me seriously and was very defensive. That attitude suggests to me that nothing is going to change.

New owner=terrible salads. I’m 6’5, 220 and Never throw out food. Tonight was a first. I think the chicken came from a can. Too bad. Salad works, you just lost a regular.

It’s a good place but it’s not phenomenal. The staff knows what they’re doing, but there have been times when I was in there where they seemed more interested in talking amongst themselves than making salads.

I’ve been to other Saladworks, this one is the best in terms of quality, service and availbilty of menu items(seems that other stores have issues with ordering enough products). I drive several miles out of my way to go to this location. KUDOS!

Yet again, had a great experience here. My husband and I come here about once a week and have never had a bad experience. All the salads are great. My usual is Sophie’s Salad with combo Oriental Sesame/Raspberry Vinaigrette dressing on the side. Husband’s is Tivoli Salad with Caesar Dressing mixed in. Do not miss the Butternut Squash soup(when available) — it is excellent! NE Clam Chowder was decent.
