Wife relies on this store a lot for her dog collars she makes. Huge selection of fabrics and Hawaiian prints.

Discount Fabric Warehouse is exactly what it is, a warehouse that sells fabric. It’s open 7 days a week, Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm and on Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. Decided to take a cruise here cause there were some bulletin boards in dire need of some sprucing up lol. This place is a candy store for those who know how to sew. Fabrics from wall to wall and hundreds of prints ranging from Hawaiian to Asian and so many more. You can buy patterns making it possible to see your own dress and even an Aloha Shirt. For the sewing enthusiast, they sell sewing machines and a lot of small equipment, threads, needles and just about everything to make things easier when doing the job. The ladies there are nice and their customer service is on point. Parking is a breeze and it’s hard to miss a big yellow warehouse, haha. Head over to Discount Fabric Warehouse for your next sewing project! The friendly associates will make your experience there«sew» unforgettable! Haha…

Might be run by the rudest people I have ever met. Not one person said«hello» or «thank you». In fact they pretty much just seemed like they wanted us out. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I think I’m better off going to Walmart for any fabric going forward.

Unless you’re looking for cheap, Hawaiian fabric this fabric store is useless. They have a LOT of fabric but nothing that I aaas looking for. What kind of fabric store does have bleached muslin? Their selection of thread is also pathetic. All of their 100% cottons were mixed in with the poly blends. Some of them were not even marked and the saleslady tried to convince me that polyblend and 100% were the same thing(hello?). I guess I just have high standards but this place was subpar.

Dear Lord — When I die, please leave me with a sewing machine at the great Discount Fabric Warehouse in the sky. I have never been to a better, cheaper or more amazing fabric wonderland. I stocked up on something crazy like 8 yards of fabric for $ 30. They have an excellent selection of Hawaiian fabrics on the big wide rolls for $ 5.99 or less. A lot of them are cotton/poly blend, which is not my preference(100% cotton please), but for the price it is a no brainer. I could have done some serious damage if my Dad hadn’t been there to give me some sense of shame. The staff is super nice. It’s truly a fabric nerds heaven.

There are not many fabric stores in Hilo and sewers are fortunate to have this venue for a variety of selections. However, when an established company/group asks that several bolts be held for their project and that HUNDREDS even THOUSANDS of dollars would be involved and to the benefit of this fabric store, you’d think they would welcome the opportunity. Word of mouth goes a long way in Hilo. Perhaps the employee who withheld such a favor should reconsider her actions.

If I could sew, this would be my heaven!!! Huge selection of fabrics, lots of cute and colorful prints, hawaiian-themed, asian-themed, and much more. There’s so much cute fabric I would love to buy if only I could make something out of it: P I’ve only come here to buy canvas for paintings though. Great friendly service. There’s not many places to get fabric here, so this is your best bet for selection!

Every time I land in Hilo, I can’t wait to get my rental car and zoom over to DFW. You never know what they’ve just gotten in. They always have huge rows of Hawaiian and Japanese prints, both 100% cotton and cotton/poly. Super friendly staff but you betta know how much fabric you want. They want to cut fast! And they have this amazing way of cutting, holding the fabric up in the air. It’s amazing to watch. They’re so talented. And really fun and funny but you gotta understand the dry sense of humor. They remember you from visit to visit. They say to me, «How much you gonna guy dis time?» Even if you don’t buy, it’s worth the trip, as the Michelin guides say. It’s a touch of old Hawaii in an old warehouse. They also sell sewing machines, and will rent you one while you’re on the island. Oh, they have upholstery fabrics too, including bark cloth. Love DFW!

Came here yesterday to pick up fabric… when I’m on a hunt for fabric for costume making… I come straight to here… especially since Hilo doesn’t have much to offer. DFW is your best bet. Free parking in a private lot. Parking is never an issue. Right in heart of Hilo… easy to find. I don’t want to say they have everything… but they have almost everything here. I came in looking for a certain print/fabric and couldn’t find it here. But they do have tons of Hawaiian, solid colors, asian and children print. Prices are okay. From treads, material, sewing machines… they got it. Best place in Hilo to get your fabric.

Joy lies in a warehouse in Hilo. Better than my imagination had speculated… heavenly sigh… I quickly calculated how much room I might be able to make in my suitcase and how many yards that many square inches in a suitcase might translate to be. read the whole review:
