Carolina Tasting Room

My husband and I are stationed at MCAS Beaufort. He just got back from Deployment and we wanted to drive the hour and check out some of Hilton Head Island since we had yet to do so. We had a hard time finding this place with just our navigation system (It is nestled in the shopping center. You can’t see their sign from the road)…But I called an a amazingly nice lady who answered the phone gave us directions and even stood outside so we would spot the place better. The lady that did our wine tasting was the BEST!!! She was super friendly, nice and very knowledgeable. She gave us great info on the wines we were tasting and gave us great recommendations on which wines to buy based upon what we liked in the tasting. We had a lot of fun, tasted some delicious Wine Smoothies (If it was warmer we would of left with some) and got 6 bottles of local wine! I highly recommend it to everyone! We will DEF be going back and taking all future out of town guests here as well!

On vacation in Hilton Head we stopped in at the Coligny Shopping Plaza after dinner because my friend mentioned that they had a little shop with wine slushies! We were going to get a slushy and walk around. Entering the tasting room (which happens to share a space with a sunglass store) we were greeted by a very friendly girl who offered to set us up a wine tasting. We had just come for slushies, but when offered a wine tasting on vacation one does not refuse.
The wines here are local and my friend favors sweets, so she was set up with a tasting of sweeter fruit wines. I was a little worried, because I am not so much for the sweet wines, but when I mentioned that to the girl at the counter, she was able to pick me out a red wine tasting selection that was more in line with my tastes. The wine tasting was so much fun, and I left with two bottles. A Hilton Head Nebbiolo (which I think was more muscadine than anything Italian, but when in the south.) and a Florida pineapple wine. Honestly the pineapple is way too sweet for me to drink by the glass, but it was so unique I figured I could make a really fun sangria with it… I have yet to do so though, it’s aging in my wine cellar.
After we completed our wine tasting we grabbed a few wine slushies (of which they have a few different flavors) and headed down to enjoy them on the beach. I love that they served me wine in slushy form that I could walk around with… even if it was a little sweet, I’ve never had one before, so I was thrilled just for the novelty of it. I would definitely stop in here if you have the time in Hilton Head. The staff was great, I got to go on a local «wine tour» and again… wine slushy.
