This is the first time I took my wife to a French restaurant. Service is pretty exceptional. I’ve had escargot at other French restaurants before but this is the first time my wife had it. She was a bit hesitant since the sound of cooked snails just doesn’t sit well with her. We ordered the escargot appetizer. It was very well prepared and taste is simply out of this world. My wife’s first experience with snails went amazingly well. We highly recommend ordering this for anyone who visits. We also had the Normandy Veal entrée. I still remember that first bite. I’m craving it just thinking about it. It is by far the best prepared and seasoned veal we’ve ever had. Hats off to the amazing chef. It was a very memorable dinner for us especially since my wife never had French cuisine before.

Absolutely fantastic! Can’t say enough good things about this lovely French bistro. Food is truly divine! Claude and his wife Uli are on hand to welcome guests and see that your selections are to your liking. Quiche and bread pudding are both world class!

Nice French style restaurant offering a somewhat limited choice of dishes. The cuisine is well prepared and the service excellent. Definitely a very popular venue. The restaurant was packed and making a reservation is recommended.

In my opinion… When you go to Bermuda, you want to eat at Four Ways. Why? Because it is unargueably the best. When you are in the mood to go to a resort, you make reservations at The Blackberry, in Waland Tennessee. Why? Because it is, unargueably, thewant best. For these same reasons, when you go to Hilton Head, South Carolina, where do you dine? You dine at Claude’s and Uli’s. Enough said. C’est finis. Stephen Cox

I have only been once and did not feel the food was worth the price and the attitude of the place well lets say, it might be your thing and maybe you should give it a try no secound chance from me.

Excellent menu of early bird choice. I asked Martha my server for recommendations. Her picks were spot on. Nothing was below expectations. I’m making the rounds of Hilton head early bird dinners. This was a great choice.

Service here is good, and that was the best part of the meal. We started with the Terrine Maison, which was an unfortunate concoction resembling a jello mold encasing bits of lobster, foie gras, and veggies. And by bits, I mean bits. We picked the bits out and left the tasteless gelatin behind. For entrée we had the Beef Wellington and Duck Breast. The Beef Wellington was well cooked, but was overall, meh. Standard sides of mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes were quite bland. The duck breast was slightly overcooked and tough. Again, the standard sides of mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes, albeit sweet potatoes, were also bland. If you are retired and/or reside in Sun City, the ambiance and clientele will suit you well. If you are not AARP eligible you will find yourself out of place. As locals we try to experience all of our local establishments, and while we can cross another new experience off our list, we would have been more satisfied revisiting many other local Bluffton restaurants.

We were a bit skeptical about the 5 star rating, but this place definitely delivered. The food is great(and not too heavy). The atmosphere is pretty quiet and upscale — but the service is attentive and friendly.

I went there on Christmas night with wife an 3 kids. We made reservation ahead. Great welcome by the front hostess. Service was prompt and accommodating. The onion soup and She crab soup were great. I had the beef Wellington. Meat cooked perfect. Wife had the grouper topped with shrimp and crab meat. She loved it. We had raspberry mango mousse cake, crème caramel and Yule log cake for dessert. The kids loved it. We wanted to order the chocolate soufflé but requires 30min preparation time and kids were sleepy. We will try it next time. Overall excellent experience. We will return if we are back in town.

Excellent! I had the escargot followed by the duck entrée! Escargot was very good and the duck cooked expertly! My wife had the veal and it was outstanding! Amanda was a great server! We will definitely return!

What a wonderful little restaurant ! Tucked away in a small strip mall in Bluffton, this little restaurant was quite a find for us. The service was very attentive and accommodating. The menu highlights included delicious escargot and seafood crêpe’s as appetizers. The entrée’s were also outstanding. For dessert we ordered their delicious grand marnier soufflé to share, but they accidentally made too many so we got one for free ! The free one tasted just a little bit better. Fabulous restaurant, we will definitely be back on our next visit to hilton head island.

Another great find in Bluffton! Located in Moss Creek Village shopping center, this authentic French restaurant has very attentive staff(ours was also French) and the owners stop by to welcome their guests. Breads and pastas and much more us all made by hand, and you can tell. We stopped for lunch. I had the linguini chicken and it was just tasty. Tender, juicy chicken and the pasta was full of flavor. Lots of vegetables, too. My daughter had the meatballs and pasta. My boyfriend had the omelette and said it was the best he’s ever had. We also had a dish of ice cream and Claude added fresh Georgia strawberries and other toppings. We will return again and again!

Visited last night for the first time, after many years of discussion about Claude and Uli’s. After all those years of discussion, we were NOTDISAPPOINTED! The atmosphere was quaint and lovely, the service was friendly but professional, and the food was delicious. Two in our party did the early diner special, which is featured all night on Tuesdays. It included a salad or soup, an entrée, and a dessert for 20 dollars. With a small upcharge, they had the steak feature entrée, which they adored, as well as one salad and one soup, cream caramel for one and soufflé for the other. My sister and I shared the seafood crêpe to start, and it was delicious! Heavy enough to share as a starter without being too much, and we also noted that with a salad it would be a lovely dinner. After, she had the coq au vin, a special for the night(and one of my favorites!), which was equally wonderful, and I had the duck breast(another favorite… this restaurant was batting 1000 with me!), which was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked, and tasted delicious. She and I shared bread pudding with crème anglais. Our table split a bottle of the house blend Sauvignon Blanc, which was wonderful as well(crisp, dry, citrusy without being too acidic.) Overall, after years of debate about driving from our annual accommodations in South Forest Beach on Hilton Head, it is beyond fair to say I’ve been converted to a believer. If I wasn’t leaving in four days, I’d think it’d be a fair estimate to say I would be back this year, but I can guarantee I’ll be back next year!

Absolutely great. I have been to HHI for many years and never been to the restaurant before until I read the Unilocal reviews. I had to try it and I now regret missing this place on all my other visits. I will be back for sure. We were seated and waited on by Claude’s daughter. She was very helpful. I started with a cream of mushroom soap while my wife has the onion soup. Both were fantastic. For the entrée I had the wiener schnitzel and my wife the mussels. Both were amazing. Both were every bit as nice as I had in Europe. If there was any negative and it truely isn’t I felt like a kid again during dinner becasue this was definitely an older crowd. It is located off island and almost everyone was a local. That proves to me it is good when I see mainly locals. As far as the age of the crowd, the younger crowd is missing out. I will be back again over and over.

My husband and I stopped, after seeing this on Unilocal. We had a wonderful, romantic lunch. We are already planning on returning soon. Lovely French Bistro. Highly recommend it.

Great little French restaurant. The owner and chef comes out to meet the diners and welcomes them with old world European hospitality. Great Food is made with love and he understands.

Nice place, however, they did not honor the check in promo of a free soufflé. We started with a classic Caesar salad which came in a parmesan bowl. My partner had a Brie crêpe which was silky and delicious. I had the bistro steak and my partner had the mussels from the restaurant week menu. The steak was prepared excellently and the peppercorn sauce was a great addition. Mussels were excellent and both dishes came with skinny fries. My partner had the apple crêpe for dessert which was a delicacy as well. Would recommend this place next time you’re in town. Support your small business!
