Coligny Bakery & Catering

This was right outside of Just Pasta in Coligny Plaza — I thought it would be a good stop for an after dinner treat. Well…
The items available looked pretty lonely. There just wasn’t a lot there at the time that we were there. I wanted a cupcake. They had maybe 2 different kinds. For $ 1.80 you could get a small cupcake the same size you would get with your homemade box cupcakes with sprinkles exactly like you could do at home. It really looked very homemade (and I don’t mean as a home cooking expert would make, but something my daughter could make).
I got the red velvet cupcake — it tasted like it was from a box, and the frosting from a can. It was ok, but I could have went to the grocery store and gotten the exact same quality if I had made it myself.
If I was in the area, I would go back and try something else — I do love dessert and would give this place a try again.

WOW! what a bakery! Coligny bakery has been on HH forever as far as I can tell.
The pastries are wonderful. Some tender and delicate, some sugary wallops, some fruity treats. The clerks were also very nice.
The cinnamon danish I had this AM was outta sight! The blueberry turnover melted in hubby’s mouth (so he said!).
Coffee is kinda weak – but you won’t care. When is the last time you found a fresh and non-​artificially flavored bakery?
Food this good makes toiling away at the gym all the more worthwhile.
