I frequent wineries in N. VA and am used to a certain ambiance at these locations — usually rolling hills and beautiful scenary. The Island Winery is mainly just a tasting room on the side of the road. But it’s definitely a fun trip. The wines are nothing spectacular and many are non-traditional, fruitty flavors but they are still decent. Service was oustanding — the women who worked there couldn’t have been nicer. Wine was very well priced(less than $ 20/bottle). If you’re looking for something fun and fiferent to do while in the area, it’s worth a stop. Just don’t expect artisinal wine.

Cute, eclectic winery right on the island. Staff is friendly and bubbly. Up to 8 tastings and $ 7 for a cheese platter. We enjoyed a full glass in the tasting room surrounded by all the barrels. This is not a vineyard, just a winery who get their grapes from all over the country. We were not too impressed with their wines, but we bought the blueberry wine for a souvenir.

What an unexpected treat! There were 6 of us and we arrived about an hour before closing time. The staff was fantastic and so accommodating! When you pull into the parking lot, it doesn’t look like much… but do yourself a favor and go in… you won’t regret it! And take home a case or two of wine!

I actually found this little gem from you all on Unilocal!Thank you! But, you will need a GPS to find this place if you know nothing about Hilton Head like we did. Walking in, it was a tad confusing since we didn’t know if it was a sit down type of establishment or what. Well, immediately to your right is the wine tasting counter where a nice lady came over and handed up the sampling menu. We missed the hours for the wine flight *sad face* but at least you can sample as many different wines as you want! We actually ended up loving the Island Margarita and Blueberry ones so much we bought them. They sell a hot pepper sherry sauce that’s delicious as well that we bought.

My husband is an active duty usmc aviator and we are new to Beaufort. He finally had a weekend off and we wanted something fun to do before his looming pre-deployment work up. Having moved from SoCal I decided to see if we lived in reasonable driving distance to any wineries. This came up on Unilocal with good reviews and not knowing anyone who had been we decided to give it a whirl. What a Phenomenal Decision that was!!! My husband and I had the MOST enjoyable afternoon that we’ve had in some time!!! For $ 10 a person we got 3 large wine flights(x’s2) and a decadent cheese and fruit tray complete with Hersey kisses. The 2 ladies working today were friendly, fun, upbeat & knowledgeable! They even allowed us to try some«samples» of limited wines and we wound up buying all of those. They also gave us a 10% military discount and thanked my husband for his service. If you live near Beaufort, Bluffton, Hilton Head Island, Savanna OR are just on Vacation… This Winery is a MUST!!! Seriously reasonably priced wines, relaxing environment, über friendly staff and MOST importantly DELICIOUS Wine!!! Thank~you Island Winery for our visit today!

Great fun and terrific customer service! We have visited a few times and had great tasting experiences :-) For the holidays, we ordered wine for shipping… and it was sent out almost before we ordered it! We had to contact them regarding a small issue with the order… and they responded immediately and very satisfactory. Customer service like theirs is not the norm nowadays, and very much appreciated. We already have another tasting arranged with friends that have not, yet visited your winery… and looking forward to returning!

Just ok. They have an afternoon special which is a good value, however the wines are just ok. Staff is a little rude.

My husband and I went for Happy Hour at 4pm, and we were able to taste 7 different glasses of wine, a mixture of white/red/and a few specialty wines. It is a great value at $ 15 per person as it allows you to taste before buying. I was not a big red wine fan so they even allowed me to switch out a few of my wines with a white wine which was very nice. The price includes light appetizers which is mainly a cheese plate with crackers and some fruit, nice accompaniments to the wine. My husband and I left this place very happy… We will do this again next time we are in Hilton Head.

The staff is so friendly here. $ 10 flight of 3 glasses of wine and a tray of cheese, crackers, and apples. We talked them into giving us 6 half glasses to taste and they were happy to, considering we were the only ones in there. My favorites were the shiraz and peach on the beach. Bummer you don’t get the wine glass as a souveneir but it was still worth it.

Wine tasting with Peach Chardonnay was enough to draw me away from the beaches. And it was worth it. The #1 reason to go here? Fruity wines. The $ 10 per person flight is not a flight. It’s a drink-off. They fill your 3 glasses to the brim, and allow you to choose from more classic reds and whites, to their eclectic fruity wines. Also, you get a free cheese and cracker platter(with Hershey’s kisses!) with your flight. Starting with the best: Margarita Wine. I know how this signs, so I want to throw my hands up and tell you to stop the judgment before it starts. The natural citrus flavors mix well with the white wine they blend it with. Totally unexpected. The Peach Chardonnay isn’t as peachy as I expected, in a good way. I feared what peach syrup would do to my sugar levels. Instead, it tasted more like a white with a hint of fruit. Southern Passion was an interesting blend that was a bit spicy, and somewhat like Sangria in a bottle. Girly? Yes. Delicious? Quite. Get there between 12:30 — 5:30pm, and see if you can taste in the back room with all the wine barrels. It’s one of those places you want to be stuck in when a natural disaster strikes.
